Waitresses AND chefs were gossiping behind the counter the whole time(me and my mom were the only ones in the restaurant at the time so we could here EVERYTHING.) Food was also sub par and they sat us at a table that we had to wipe down ourselves. Would suggest going to Janie’s instead.

Three visits resulted in three great experiences. My wife and I went for lunch a couple times during the work week. It was quiet. Service and food were both great. The big test came on Mother’s Day(May 8) when we arrived to a packed house with three adults and two kids. Self-serve coffee and children’s’ books were available to keep the waiting customers occupied. We were first offered a large table for 6 adults which was a very nice gesture. We suggested they pull off the two-top for another party and we still had plenty of room with four chairs and a high chair. The Lobster Eggs Benedict was over the top. Two of the adults each ordered this special and said it’s one of the best breakfasts they’ve ever had. The pancakes with fruit were also great. They delivered a Mickey Mouse pancake for my daughter. The food has tasted great during both the lunch and breakfast visits. Food was delivered to the table promptly. Even with a big crowd, we never had the«what’s taking them so long» talk at the table. What sets Talia’s apart from any other eatery in the area is their service. Doesn’t matter if the dining area is half empty or there’s a line out the door, they’ll make you feel like you’re the only customer there. The team appears to be mostly high school & college aged girls. The owner must have an amazing training program because it’s clear that there’s a lot of effort focused on training and making the customers feel great. Our server made sure everyone at the table was happy and greeted us with a smile each time she approached the table. The owner also stopped by our table during our meal to make sure we were happy. The visit exceeded our expectations.

We absolutely love Talia’s! They have great service, great specials and delicious food. We go quite often and have become regulars. We are always greeted with a smile and it is somewhere they know us by name. We look forward to our tradition of Sunday breakfast at Talia’s!

I’ve eaten a couple times here for breakfast. The last time pretty much ended the possibility of me ever being a regular. Décor: I suppose you could say this is a «cute little place» named after the owners daughter, I was told. HUGE pictures of her adorn the wall and a small play area(for her?) sits at the entrance. I felt like I was sitting in daycare. Service: Awful, although the waitresses are friendly enough, there just not attentive and appear to lack experience. Food: Not consistent. Every visit, at least one person in my party is not happy with their meal. Last meal the coffee was cold! My pancakes were not edible. While my Dads waffle was crispy and hot, my Moms was soggy, cold and gross. I gave this place enough chances.

Talia’s is where you go when Janie’s is very crowded and you can’t wait to have breakfast. It’s basically the same menu but a notch below in every aspect. If Janie’s was MLB then Talia’s would be AA ball.

The food was filling and very very tasty! Only reason why it is not a 5 star is bc a reg came in after me and was told about how they have fresh brewed pumpkin spice coffee and would she like to try it. had i known i would have had that instead of when seated asked if I wanted coffee I said yes, there were a couple other minor things… but great little place and will be back. The food came out hot, fresh and FAST! The waitresses were very attentive and you did not have to ask for coffee refills at all. Really glad I gave this place a go! The place was clean and tables well stocked.

Our waitress was nice but the food was absolutely horrible! Also since it’s a very small place you can hear everything the cook was saying through the diner style window & he was complaining about making my meal since I requested a change in it! Nope our food tasted horrible not sure what you can do with that other than change the way food is prepared & get fresh food not frozen. Also I could hear the cook very clearly since I was at that very table on the other side of that window with my daughter!

I’ve only eaten here once, but I have a lot of optimism for the place. For one, it is pretty clearly affiliated with Janies uncommon café and Maddies. Janies was once here and moved, and Maddies is in salem. Gluten free food, some of the same old staff. Delicious food good service. I got hash and cheddar fold(omelet) and was nursing a major hangover so it really hit the spot. I got home fries and rye toast with it. Good stuff. The home fries weren’t perfect in my opinion but definitely hand cut. My wife thought the potatoes tasted unwashed and were a little starchy but I couldn’t concur that since I wasn’t on my taste bud game, still basically being drunk. The wife got gluten free french toast and damn was it delicious. It wasn’t just udis toast from market basket or anything. Our bet was something sweet without wheat Woburn made the bread. Also got a side of bacon and that was good. I think I’m gonna love this as much as Maddies and Janies. Awesome place! So mant gluten free choices too!

My reason for the one star has less to do with the food and more todo with the service. I nearly broke a tooth when I found an olive pit in my sandwich. The manager who didn’t introduce herself came over and offered to remake it, but when I politely declined her offer she apologized and walked away. My mistake was thinking that the sandwich would be comped. When I received my bill it was still on there. It’s a shame they care more about their $ 5 sandwich than maintaining a customer.

So many things I like about this place. A hot cup of coffee upon arrival. Good flavors too! The woman who hosts(owner?)is so nice. Very hard working & seems to genuinely want her customers to enjoy their experience. I have eaten here several times and continue to come back bc the food seems so much fresher than the 50s joint down the street. However, im holding back the 5th star for two reasons: 1. Put the clean silverware on the napkin, not the table. 2. The fresh fruit salad needs improvement. The fruit on the yogurt and the waffles is lovely & fresh & it shows. But the fruit cup? I dont know what it is but the fruit looks soggy and unappealing. Maybe the watermelon is being cut too small. Maybe they should make smaller, fresh batches more often. I dont know. I always want to order the fruit cup and enjoy it but the last few times, it just hasn’t looked good. Back to the positives. Real maple syrup, delicious pancakes, muffins, waffles & omelets. Creative specials, nice staff and cute décor. They get the food out quickly too. Honestly, I have always been very happy with my food, excepting the aforementioned fruit cup; which isnt always a problem but make a fresh batch for tje weekend, please. I also really like that you can take your coffee to go after breakfast(hot or iced) & they offer sugar in the raw. Talias, thank you for being a wonderful addition to the local restaurant community.

Wanted to go someplace local with my Mother-in-Law for Mother’s Day. Found Talia’s on Unilocal, and always try to find a place with 4 stars. If you’ve ever been to Maddie’s in Salem, it’s very similar in style/décor/setup. My family, all coffee drinkers, were pleased with the coffee-while-you wait option. The hostess was super friendly, clearly morning person, and her sunshiny personality was welcome. We were seated after about a 30-minute wait, and our food was out within 15 minutes, which was impressive given the volume of patrons and our order size. For the most part the food was really good. I always hesitate to order omelettes because they are too over-cooked or have too much cheese. My western was cooked and filled perfectly, a first anywhere! My kids got cinnamon roll pancakes and a chocolate cream cheese filled Belgian waffle. Both thought they were excellent and my husband enjoyed fruit stuffed french toast. My MIL ordered a bagel with lox and cream cheese and declared it to be just the way she likes it, with tomato and onion. Probably hard to get that wrong. A couple of suggestions/disappointments: The home fries were undercooked and didn’t have much flavor. In our opinion, home fries are one of those foods that should stand out and be exceptional. These most definitely did not. Also, real maple syrup shouldn’t be pricy! Shhhh… next time, I’ll bring my own nip. :) C’mon, we live in New England. Completely not food related… While we were getting coffee, we noticed one of the servers throwing away an empty milk jug. When I went to throw my sugar packet away, I noticed several others in the trash. As someone who really cares about the environment, it was disheartening to see something being thrown away vs. recycled. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and would definitely go back another time.

Had lunch here mid week. Was pleasantly surprised. Lots of good choices on the menu, reasonable pricing and good value. I had a wrap which was delicious and the lobster salad(lobster pieces on a garden salad) was huge with big chunks of lobster. I’ll come back again soon.

The food was good though I thought it was a bit pricey. What I found to be a bit strange was that the owner walked around with her child strapped to her chest looking for you to make a comment about her child. The food is really fresh, and prepared with care. Menu was varied and unique. Service was adequate. Will give lunch a try here. There is a wait for breakfast on weekends, as this place is becoming quite popular. Space is not at a premium here. Seating is really close to a dining neighbor. Overall, Talias is top notch breakfast choice in a competitive breakfast nook market in this area.

Awesome service! Great food! Nice clean/bright space! I emailed Elissa regarding my weird diet prior to visiting Talia’s and she got right back to me so fast and was super helpful — A vegan in a breakfast place can be a scary thing, but she was very accommodating and gave me some good suggestions — so I went with my parents to check it out. We were seated immediately and service was very fast — had nice hot cup of coffee in my hands right away(free refills). The menu is accessible online, and has quite a lot of options from pancakes to sandwiches to light options and a whole Gluten-free section also. I had the«California»(no turkey, no eggwhite) and a side of home fries(home fries made with oil, not butter so good to go!) My parents had the Western Wrap and one of the specials — the caramel apple stuffed french, toast I think. Everything was delicious, my veggies were fresh, the home fries were tasty, and we all left full and happy with intentions of visiting again soon! The waitstaff is super friendly, helpful, and fast to refill coffee. Elissa also stopped by to introduce herself since she recognized my weird order — so it was great to meet her as well! Thanks for the delicious breakfast and for being so helpful!

I’m not really a breakfast person, but was drawn to Talia’s Eatery when they offered a free meal to all veterans on Veterans Day, which was very good of them to do. Located in the old Janie’s location, Talia’s is spacious, bright, and clean. I had a breakfast sandwich of bacon, egg, and cheese on an English Muffin, which was very nice. Even better were the home fries on the side — delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Looking over the menu, they offer a great variety of choices for both breakfast and lunch. I plan to go back for lunch someday soon and will update my review then, with the potential to go to five stars.

New place where Janie’s Uncommon used to be that feels pretty similar. I stopped in and tried the South of the Border omlette. Which was nicely done, with decent hope fries and pretty good raisin toast. Coffee is notch or two above typical diner coffee. The salsa(which my server referred to as ‘chili’) had no kick. The waitstaff seems new, and seems to spend a lot of the time standing behind the counter rather than circulating. My coffee cup got refilled when the server brought my check, and only because I asked. Better service would add a star to my review
