The food is what you think of when you think of a Mexican American by the beach joint. The food is tasty! Small, friendly staff and a simple menu. Lively atmosphere!

Quite some time ago I gave this place 5 stars. A friend of mine introduced this place to me and after that I went at least twice a week. I loved it. However about 2 months ago I went and the chicken tacos were just so so. I couldn’t believe it cuz I loved them. So I went tonight to give them another try. It was horrible. I’m sorry to say I will not be going back. I was highly disappointed as was my friend.

Good portions not too big not too small. They offer black and refried beans as well as vegan and vegetarian options and margaritas are always a plus they make a little bit less sweet and a little more rowdy which is what I like as well. Good service and a nice low key dive Bart next door. The only reason I put four stars is because of the tortilla not being able to goods all the good insides off my taco!

Disappointing. I ordered blackened shrimp salad which the menu said would be served over mixed greens. Sure. If by mixed you mean tossed shreds of iceberg lettuce. Also, my husband ordered a veggie burrito with tofu and mushrooms. Instead of putting the mushrooms in his burrito, they put them all over my salad, which I then had to pick off and give to him, as I hate mushrooms and nowhere on the menu does it say there are mushrooms in the salad I ordered. The shrimp was definitely not fresh. However, I can live with shrimp out of the freezer if its seasoned and prepared well. Sadly, this shrimp was overcooked and under seasoned. So basically bland rubbery lumps atop my salad. Then, the citrus house dressing had no flavor. I had no joy eating this, and gave up a 3rd of the way in. With a few simple tweaks this salad could have been great and honestly, its not that hard to do a salad. Maybe they were having an off night but based on this experience I can’t recommend this place. Unless you’re too drunk to care how the food tastes and they are the only ones still open. We were there at 11pm on a Friday

Decent Mexican«hole in the wall» off of Broadway & Redondo. I really enjoyed their tasty nachos… They’re pretty bomb! The atmosphere here is neat because it’s intimate — it’s tiny, but there is a unexpected connected bar in the next room where you can bring your food and drinks to. I like the set up a lot. There isn’t much seating, so good luck if you go in at a busy time. Service was quick and attentive. They also bring you yummy chips and salsa to the table. I would definitely recommend this place for some late night tacos or nachos around this area. Of course, there are better options if you’re looking for good Mexican food, but this one is sufficient for the immediate area.

Poor customer service the cashier gave me attitude for asking for chips and then intentionally messed up my burrito twice. I couldn’t enjoy the food because the service was so bad

The food is pretty good but the terrible service is just unbearable. I don’t usually write reviews for anything but I felt this was necessary. I try to be empathetic to waitresses since I know it can be a stressful job but this was unacceptable. It is the second time I have experience rude service from the same waitress. Let me start off by saying I have never seen a more unhappy waitress in my life. She was very unwelcoming; no «hello, how are you?» or anything just«what do you want?» On the first occasion, the issue was that she knowingly ignored us. My father would ask to order something and she would just walk pass our table more than once. She just gives a pissed off vibe that is hard to forget. On the second occasion, she messed up my dad’s order and when he asked to confirm what she thought he ordered, she responded in a condescending tone. My dad is too much of nice guy to argue with her so he let it go. Then when we were finishing up she took away our plate of chips that was still half way full without even asking. I don’t know about you but if I’m paying extra for a side of guacamole I would like to have the rest of my chips. It’s just sad that a bad service on what was suppose to be a nice dinner with father changes the mood of the night. It kind of even upsets the stomach. The worst thing is that we like the food a lot and it’s walking distance from our place but the service is so terrible that I don’t think we will be dining there again.

NEVERORDERYOURFOODFROMDOORDASH! Genuine confusion; why would your BUSINESS be listed on DOORDASH website multiple times if you are not affiliated with them? The better question is why would your employees deny this after already having placed an order thru the site and successfully received my food(1month ago)? Here’s my feedback about your facility. I ordered wet veggie burrito. When it arrived it was cold and clammy, the veggies were definitely overcooked. When I ordered a second time(today), I was told the wait would be 85 – 95 minutes. 2 hours later I called to check the status and they said they never received the order EVENAFTER doordash sent me 2 separate emails; the first stating the order was received and another stating that the modifications I requested required an additional charge, so they cancelled my first payment and re-charged my account for more. All of this would not have been a problem, had I received my order. According to the employee answering phones with a rude attitude, they never received the order and are NOT affiliated with doordash. Then WHYTHEFUCKAREYOUONTHEIRWEBSITE?!

Excellent vegan/vegetarian menu with a lot of options, the food was insanely delicious, service was fast(specially when you’re super hungry), and the food portion was a lot! I recommend for everyone to give this place a try if you haven’t. You won’t be disappointed.

I remember looking for apartments in Long Beach like 4 years ago and was famished from all the driving. Feeling desperately peck-ish, I came upon this tiny little spot on Broadway. I got burrito I think, can’t remember much about it, and then opted to live in Silver Lake. Fast forward to present day, I had forgotten about the place and went to eat their with a friend. I ordered the deluxe veggie burrito that comes wet with tomatillo sauce, a side of beans and rice and with some guacamole. It has jicama, black beans, corn relish and other fixins’ that sounded like a flavorful vegetarian burrito. I find the issue with vegetarian burritos is they are sometimes bland, but this burrito definitely has a nice flavor and kick to it. It’s huge so I couldn’t finish it in one sitting. I took it home and thought it would be delicious as leftovers but my boyfriend got to it and gobbled it up instead! Damn! Anyway, it’s a small space, attached to a bar. Parking can be tricky in this area, but I believe there is parking in the back. They serve chips and salsa for free.

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this restaurant on accident after looking for a piercing place. We smelled the food from outside and knew we had to try it! The restaurant is not very large, so we got lucky to get a table when we walked in. The menu is pretty large, but has your typical Mexican restaurant favorites. After we ordered, our server brought us chips and salsa. The chips were pretty stale, but I liked the salsa. Our food was prepared fairly quickly. I ordered the fish tacos, which had so much flavor. The fish was cooked to perfection, and I loved the toppings. It also came with rice and black beans, which is different for me because the restaurants I usually go to serve it with refried beans. Everything was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the wet carne asada burrito per our server’s recommendation, and we both loved it too! It was so large that he couldn’t finish it, so I highly recommend sharing this dish! I highly recommend Coco Reno’s and would go back again.

Always a pleasure to return to this Mexican standard in the Long Beach/Belmont Shores area. The Cancun Salad is a personal favorite but I don’t believe you could go wrong with about anything here. Great for a weekend lunch of two to four.

This is by far my favorite Mexican spot in Long Beach! The salsa is amazing(I like it hot) and the chips are made fresh! The servers and cooks are always friendly(not sure what some of the other reviews are talking about)! It’s cool that they provide food in the bar area(which has a pool table, comfy booths, and amazing margaritas!) The ONLY reason I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the take out service. If they invested a little more money into boxes with compartments, the tacos wouldn’t become soggy in my 5 minute trip home. It’s disappointing when you order yummy tacos that literally crumble into pieces and become a burrito bowl(not what I wanted). Bottom line– EATHERE for tasty Mexican! They even have a music video on YouTube some random customer made about the food!

Ok Im a sucker for good mexican food, not Tex mex… or cali mex… but I will make an exception for this place. The food is legit! I love this hole in the wall spot. Taco tuesday, yes its a great deal, but really the food is fresh. Where can you find tofu tacos that actually taste good? HERE!!! thats where! The vegetarian burrito with jicama is huge filled with black beans, rice, guacamole, and the crunch of jicama. Then smothered in tomatillo sauce Hello? why are you still reading this, go eat! and the margaritas(house or mango) are not overly sweet and pack a punch. The servers are incredibly friendly and are quick to bring the fresh, warm chips and salsa

Good food, terrible service, especially one waitress who«served» us last night, 11/22/2015. Full disclosure, I went with Toxic Toast Records(whose review you can read below.) I had gone there before with him, and she overcharged us before as well. Even that time, not only did they overcharge us, but she had a piss poor attitude as well. My meal was not comped that time. He had gone on subsequent visits and had to argue with this waitress about the charges, he had his meal comped, but considering the terrible fucking service and the gall to suggest that he should pay anything other than what’s reflected on the menu, I’d say it was deserved. When I say overcharged, she charged us more than the menu stated — regardless of what anyone says that is overcharging and it seems like it is a regular practice. Until the menu and listed prices are changed on the actual menu, the prices on the menu are the correct charge. Well, last night the waitress was there again. My friend texted me to let her know that she was there, and I thought about not coming. THAT’S HOWTERRIBLESHEIS. She never interacted with us once, except to take our order. No greeting. No wave, no nothing. She side-eyed us the entire time, but didn’t check on us, didn’t refill my water, When she dropped off the check, she didn’t even come to our table, but reached over and literally dropped it on our table. On our way out, no goodbye or thank you for coming. Even when my friend said«Thank you» to her, she ignored him. Maybe it’s not fair to give this place one star for just one waitress. After all the other servers I have had here are nice and pleasant, and the food is pretty good. However, her attitude and service are preventing me from going again.

This place can be a bit hard to find and it’s quite a small place. I will say that their complementary salsa sauce that comes with their salsa chips is much spicier than other places. I tried out the tofu and blackened mushroom tacos. It didn’t feel like the tofu mixed well with the taco, but was still enjoyable nonetheless. The mushroom taco is worth trying; these are great options for the vegetarians out there.

I was going to be in Long Beach for some work and I reached out to couple friends to see if they are available to meet up for food and drinks. Looked this place up on Unilocal and decided to come here. When I walked in I was little surprised in regards to how small this place is. Their kitchen is on one side and then they have 4 tables with 3 – 4 seats per table. As I was finding a table to sit, I noticed a door and asked the cook whether we are allowed to go inside that door and if its a part of the restaurant. To my utter surprise there is other end of the restaurant — named RENOROOM, with more seating, a pool table and a bar. However they don’t have A/C so it gets bit hot in there. Reno Room is more of a dive bar atmosphere and you can order food from Coco Renos. I opted to try the Vegetarian tacos. Our server recommended for us to try their Blackened Tacos. I would say that both of them were pretty good. I liked the corn avocado relish on the blackened tacos. However, I liked their tofu tacos better though, tofu was make to perfection and the serving is huge. They basically offer a vegetarian option with mushroom, tofu and veggies for any of their dishes. Their salsa is good and flavorful, I think we had to ask our server to refill our chips and salsa at least 5 times. P. S. One of my friend was running late and once when he came, he hurt his finger while opening the main door [it is pretty heavy in his defense]. He was slightly annoyed because once he walked inside no one acknowledged the fact that he hurt himself while opening the door and stepping on tiny step before entering the restaurant. When he came sat down with us, our server was kind enough to find him a band-aid and apologized to him. I thought that was very nice of her.

Menu states $ 7.75 for burrito plate Only fish shrimp and carne asade are listed as extra charges. However, one specific waitress up charges tofu burrito plates(tofu burritos cost less on the ala carte menu than beef and chicken). Other servers do not up charge for tofu burrito plates as it’s not listed as an up charge on the menu. Vegans beware of possibly being charged a $ 1 for an unknown reason.
