Dollar Mart

Jeez. This is a huge store with everything from groceries to toys to gift bags to automotive stuff to school supplies to condoms to cigarettes to toilet paper to welcome mats to candles to plates to paper towels to laundry detergent to hair gel to aluminum foil to sandwich bags to coloring books to mops to pots and pans to dog food to baby wipes to plastic utensils to tissues.
They accept credit cards too, which is awesome. I went in looking for wrapping paper and came out with $ 15 worth of goodies. Seriously impressed with this dollar store. It looks super small from the outside, but don’t let that fool you. There’s a whole back section that you might not see at first glance into the storefront.
It’s a little dingy inside and could use a good scrubbing, especially the drink coolers. I couldn’t even see through some of the glass doors because it was all clouded up, but overall it’s a great place to get good deals on things.

Located down the street from Big Lots on 7^th Street, just outside Rose Park I’ve passed this place over a dozen times and thought that this was just another attempt at a 99 Cent Only Store knock off.
However, not so… not even close and, a stand alone place that offers up much more than its competitors of chain & shame!
After having my carpets cleaned this week end, I needed to replenish my supply of Awesome All Purpose Cleaner (3 bottles to be exact), this stuff cleans better than Simple Green and does the job excellently + 100!
This stuff is great on spot cleaning and pre-​treating among so many other things even Billy Mays could not do a better promo for something similar!
Yet that is not the only reason I will now be a loyal customer as upon entrance you might think that you have stumbled into a Boyle heights Hood junky store with just one small room full of many things of use, so many things that I had to keep focused because out of the corners of my eyes I was seeing name brand products for just $ 1 each.
After you pass this room and the cashier station, you enter into the largest, most organized, clean and stocked full to the D-​Cup of name brand & off brand products, food items, kitchen essentials… OMG, (I could increase this list ad infinitum!) I have seen in a genre store of this type; I mean they have everything and, I had to exercise self control because there were lots of I need this, that will do’s, could use that one day, need more of those, that’s what I’ve been looking for and this is the ONLY place (other than on line) I can find this items.
This family owned business of over 10 years is a well run ship, with pleasant family members ready to assist you on the floor and at the cashier station too.
I mean it my fellow Unilocaler’s, these are some very nice folks and deserve our business; especially in this economy and, with gas prices higher than Amy Winehouse’s Hair was, I’m willing to go out of my way to save money on quality products and excellent customer service!
They take credit & debit cards and yes, cash too if that’s your way to pay.
Now get into your Caruche, drive down here, stock up and look at what less than $ 50 will get ‘cha (if you utilize self control!)
They are bilingual (no prob for me in the Spanish department!) too with the demographic leaning more to that culture due to the geographic location.
I will come back within the next week to stock up on many things that I know are name & off brand quality merchandise that serves a purpose and, to be treated so nicely with help and assistance I say «Good Bye, 99 Cent Only Stores, HELLO (Ru Paul Style), Dollar Mart Inc. make me Holla!
