My parents chose this dentist because they changed her insurance. i loved my old dental office had been going there for almost 20 years. I came in with an open mind. The dentist gave me shit for not brushing my teeth well which is understandable, I guess. The first time i went they did a check up she didnt find any cavities. Now the second time i went in it was for my cleaning she«missed» three cavities and instead of 1 cleaning I would need two and of course i’d have to pay for the second one. when i told her I would wait for next year(my insurance covers it once a year) she went on to tell with(with attitude) you’re still going to have to pay 74 bucks to get the second cleaning. I again told her I would think about it and she goes on to tell me that if she were me she would pay the 74 bucks instead of 84 bucks(twice) for gum treatments because of not listening to her. She was completely bitchy and went on to say well you never know maybe you will brush ur teeth better and it might change things. yeah definitely the last time I will be going here. Thankfully Next year we will be right back with my old dental office woo hoo

Absolutely the best dentist in Long Beach! I’ve been going to Dr. Castaneda’s for 11 years and even though I hate going to the dentist, she’s still the best. Yes, they chide you for not brushing properly — or flossing every day. But the fact is, if you do what they tell you, your teeth will be in much better shape. The staff is actually quite friendly! I highly recommend this dentist to anyone serious about taking care of their teeth!

Since I was 11 years old I’ve been uncomfortable with my smile. I used to get a lot of ear infections as a child(due to swimming) and because of the medication I was prescribed it affected my teeth, as well as my self esteem. I always thought it was something that I had to accept as a teenager, young adult. Until that is I met Dr. Elizabeth Castaneda. I hadn’t seen a dentist in over 6 years due to my lack of love for my smile. But then with the constant PUSHING from my sister and my parents I decided to go. I had a couple of cavities to get out of the way but luckily it was minor and everything else was good to go. On my last visit to get my final cavity squared away she asked me how I felt about the tetracycline stains on my front tooth. I told her I was uncomfortable with it but I was too afraid to do anything cosmetically without retaining a conservative look. So Dr. Castaneda pulled out her magic dentist wand and lightly bonded my front tooth and gently filed the bottom of my upper teeth so that they were«Even Steven.» The whole process took only 25 minutes and she was done I was simply amazed at how remarkable yet conservative the improvement was. I told her thank you and stated that dentists have a bad rap. You think all they do it drill drill drill which they do, but they’re also artists that have the compassion and the skills to change people lives and make them feel better about their smile. So thank you Dr. Castaneda. It took almost 16 years of waiting and not smiling as wide in photos, yet only 25 minutes to correct it. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. Heather Anne =)

After I lost my childhood dentist when my parent’s company got new insurance, my mom scheduled me here. Her staff is not very friendly, and will make you feel terrible that you haven’t been taking care of your teeth to her liking. I’m sorry, but I don’t have time to brush my teeth for 15 minutes 3 times a day(yes, that is what Dr. Castaneda told me to do) Every time I would go I would dread it(I mean who really wants to go to the dentist, but still it’s nice to be treated nicely) stay away from this place, there are much nicer dentist in Long Beach
