Soufflé is absolutely delicious … Great quite place with amazingly delicious food …

Something you should know about Fora is that it is now a BYOB only restaurant, they have lost their liquor license. We arrived for our reservation and was surprised to see a sign on the door stating you had to bring your own alcohol in if you wanted a drink. We made reservations well in advance and it would have been nice if they told us this in advance since there are no liquor stores nearby.

WORSTEXPERIENCEEVER! If you want to go to a restaurant that has HORRIBLE service, half ass food, and pay a decent amount, come here! Here’s the list: –Our waitress never even told us the special nor the menu. Instead we asked our neighbor. –We were never asked for drinks. And one we finally were, they(waters) were never filled –Cook ran out to us to tell us 3 specials left after we had placed our orders –Wrong dessert came, with no apology. When we politely asked, the manager/owner was a jerk and said too bad and to deal with it –Owner/manager was extremely inappropriate and talked really loud about crude jokes and things he saw at Walmart THEENTIRETIME. If that’s the kind of atmosphere I wanted, I could’ve gone across the street to KFC. Sadly, would’ve been better food. –The chicken tasted like it was old and just heated up –No one ever came by to ask how the food was WORSTEXPERIENCEEVER! Do yourself a favor and do not come here.

Cool looking plating, small portions, and comfort food made upscale. Yeah, sounds like fancy American. THEGIST: Small portions /Great entrée’s and soufflé /Disappointing appetizers /Tiny restaurant SERVICEANDSETTING I went here on a Sunday night for a late dinner. We made a reservation, but it was unnecessary; we were the only party in the restaurant and no other party showed up the rest of the night. Service was fine. Unfortunately they’re next to a really loud bar which kind of messes up the elegant ambiance they have going on. FOODANDVALUE Appetizers… Chicken liver on bread: It’s not on their online menu as far as I can tell, so I forgot the name of the entrée. Not being a fan of chicken liver I found this dish to be tolerable. It was served a little bit lukewarm which made it kind of strange though. Crab cake: Too mild even when dipped in the aioli provided, the crab is almost completely missing in this one. Not the best I’ve had. Entrees… Colorado lamb: It was cooked perfectly medium and it was juicy, tender, and delicious. The potatoes and baby asparagus it’s served with don’t really stand out at all, but the main star here is the lamb and it was excellent. Recommended. Roasted Beef Tenderloin: Got to try a bite of this. Not sure because it’s not listed in the internet menu, but the sauce it was served with seemed to have the taste of cheese in it, which was delicious but maybe a little dominating. Still, it was a delicious piece of beef and I’d order it if I went back. Beef stroganoff: Also got to try a taste of this. Doesn’t really strike me as a $ 24 dish, but the beef was cooked perfectly and the pasta was al dente. Pretty good, but not my favorite. Dessert: Soufflé: They give you a few different options on how it’s made and you can ask for a split down the middle. I mostly tried the chocolate portion of the soufflé and it was quite satisfying. It’s very eggy, but soufflé’s tend to be and I’m a fan of eggs anyway. CONCLUSION A nice little place in Long Beach, I’d return if it was closer.

The food here was fn amazing. beautiful small and quaint restaurant. This is the kind of place you come with a few friends order a few bottles of wine and everyone order something different. Then have at it. This place will send your taste bud on a major vacation. Only draw back for this place is they need to work on their customer service. We sat for 15 mins before ANYONE came over to see what we needed. The waiter that was assigned to our table didnt set well with a few at our table. Having said all that, i would have noooooooooooo problem coming here again. I think i might be a little more forceful on better customer service.

I give it Fora stars. Ha, get it? The drinks should be stiffer so you can forget the entrees are $ 27. Been to Fora three times. Can’t complain about the atmosphere. Cozy but not cramped, candlelit and unpretentious. Our third visit The food is great. Had the tenderloin one night and the flat iron the next two visits and both pieces of meat were nom nom nom. And my wife’s fish was perfectly cooked(we asked it to be overcooked, which is perfect for her). Of course, this is a «fancy» restaurant, so I want to prepare the guys: the portions are small. You get a spoonful of mashed potatoes. I mean, seriously, it could fit on one spoon. And the shrimp appetizer($ 12?) was a joke. ONE shrimp on a huge platter. I thought Ashton Kutcher was watching us eat behind a 2 way mirror.(It was not on the menu our third visit). I guess I am a little upset that the server did NOT return to our table after serving our food, meaning I had no drink the entire meal. This is unforgivable considering they only had 5 tables open with 2 servers and a manager. Really? I want more attentive service for the price.(And menus that can’t be turned into origami). And two pieces of bread for a starter? I mean, c’mon, they do NOT have to worry about me not having enough room for a DOLLOP of potatoes.

We love Fora, especially during copper river salmon season. The preparation doesn’t detract from the taste of the salmon, but only serves to enhance the excellent taste of the fish. The new chicken liver appetizer was also really good. I hope that more new dishes are coming. As always, the star of the meal was the soufflé. Without a doubt, the best souffles ONTHEPLANET(France included). As far as some of the reviews about the service… we have never had a bad experience here in all the years we have been coming here. BTW, Elliot rocks! Bear in mind, I am from New York and I do like a fun, outgoing personality. If that’s not your cup of tea, there are other people there that will just take your order and treat you like the royalty that you think you are!
