First and foremost, the food was delicious, and service was warm and friendly. Definitely try the warm apple crumble. Other Pros — High end ambiance, and plenty of free parking in the overflow lot behind the hotel(still quick and easy to get to the restaurant). No reservations necessary, and there enough other diners so you don’t feel awkward Cons — This is not a place to go if you don’t eat steak or seafood. The simple pasta is way overpriced at $ 19. The chicken parmesan, while generous and tasty, was also overpriced as the dish comes with no sides. It’s too bad they don’t throw in some roasted vegetables — the garnish of roasted tomato was perfect.

We had a coupon for bogo($ 21) and decided to try them out. I figured even on a Friday night they couldn’t be that busy since it’s in a hotel. I was right. There was one other party there. Food was great! We both ordered prime ribs. And it was cheaper to add on an order of crab cakes than to get them as an appetizer. They had so much crab and were perfectly cooked. My prime rib was also cooked perfectly and seasoned. I ordered the asparagus in lemon butter. Kids had cheese quesadillas with fruit. They were pretty good too. Service was a little slow, but that was the only drawback. I can’t see paying full price to go back. Definitely will have to look out for another coupon. Maybe even try going for brunch.

Overall this place was great. Very good service and good food. I opted for the queen cut prime rib and was amazed at the size even for $ 30. The king was $ 40 so I was really glad I stayed with the smaller portion. Potatoes au gratin were superb but the house wine was overpriced at $ 14 a glass. Steak had less of the flavorful end that is my favorite, kind of like getting less filet on a porterhouse you expected. Meal came with both types of horseradish, thank you! I almost always have to ask for the regular these days. I’d go again but would explore the menu.

Best, Best filet mignon! We went on a Sunday night. The service was great, and the food was delicious! Absolutely the best steak I’ve had in Long Beach. If you’re a mushroom fan, get that as your side dish, it’s SO good!

We did a Tuesday night, entertainment book bogo dinner. Aside from one, obvious, business man, we were the only diners in the restaurant. The inside is nice, but I think a wobbly table should be repaired in a $$$ restaurant. We ordered a bottle of house red and they didn’t have it and offered another, descent one, for the same price. Starting with the caesar salad: Tasty, fairly fresh lettuce with garlic herbed croutons. Veggies that came with the 12oz fillet were properly cooked, but lacked anything to literally write home about. The fillet(the reason we chose to try this place) was pretty darn good. It was a great size and seared nicely on the outside with a darn near perfect med/rare inside. Like the other reviewer stated, you could cut it with your butter knife, in a good way. It had a nice flavor and with the addition of their mushroom/merlot reduction on top it was very enjoyable. ***4 stars for the 12oz med/rare fillet*** For the overall prices, however, you really should find all aspects of the meal outstanding, and this is not the case here. We will certainly go back and use our other coupon before it expires, but will also consider this place when steak loving company comes to town. My hunch though, is that their might be other more well rounded steak places near by if we’re going to pay full price, I just have to find them! The parking couldn’t be more convenient(in the back) and you are walking through the very pleasant grounds of the Marriot pool area too and from. All in all pretty lovely.

This place is delicious!!! We have the orange county entertainment book and saw Mr. R’s buy one entrée, get one free(up to $ 39) so we decided to give it a try. We were VERY surprised to find such a great restaurant in the Marriot Hotel. I had the surf and turf(filet and jumbo shrimp). J had the mixed grill with chicken, filet and lamp chop. The filet was sooooo good. so tender you can cut if with a fork and cooked perfectly. The shrimp was also cooked perfectly; crisp, sweet and served on some sort of butter sauce! Even the grilled zucchini and asparagus were delicious! We will definitely be back!

It is a Tuesday night after 7:30pm and we were the only guests. My first thought was do they have a cook or a chef? The answer is a CHEF! This could very well be one of the best steakhouses in the area! Angus beef, good service, intimate setting, white linen service and they want to better! They do have options of fresh fish(tonight it was Hawaiian Ahi) and chicken and a surf & turf, lobster and shrimp dishes. Looking at the other reviews, they are years old and should be ignored! What a nice experience — I had to over-tip!

Way too expensive, Really low quality food, even though it had a nice presentation. Wait staff is very nice and helpful. Its in a Marriott hotel so I guess its pricey for the out of towners but when the cheapest entrée is 34 dollars, its will definitely never attract local customers. We waited over an hour for our food. The waiter offered us a free appetizer right when we ordered so I guess that was a sign he knew how slow the kitchen was.

We had a group dinner here since we were down for a conference and were staying at this hotel. The manager was rude and upset with our party since we had booked the private dining room and 4 people didn’t show up. Mind you that it was our fault we didn’t have those 4 people, BUT at 8pm on a Monday night, there was NOONE else in the whole restaurant so they should have been happy with our business. One person in our group ordered a vodka drink and wasn’t happy with it. Instead of making her a new one, the waiter just stood his ground that it was indeed a high end vodka in her drink. Period. Not great customer service. Since we were all hungry and they did provide us with some sort of food, even though it wasn’t the greatest, that’s why I give them a 2. The bread wasn’t that good. I had the filet mignon and although it was cooked medium well like I had ordered, the sauce it came with had no flavor. It had way more than my daily serving of salt though, which isn’t good. The mashed potatoes were supposed to have garlic in them but I never tasted any garlic. We didn’t stick around for dessert. The music in that resturant was too soothing, we felt like we were at a spa and about to fall asleep instead of being energized and happy to be eating there. So all in all, if it’s late at night and you don’t want to take a cab elsewhere, you can eat here. But if you have a pulse and can go elsewhere, do so.

I declare this place… in dire need of an update! Food: Considering what you pay? Terrible! Ambiance: Nice and quiet Service: Okay… a little hostile Oh dear HEAVENS! The King is disappointed. Granted, the King should not have expected much from a Steak House, but most restaurants have some sort of dish to accomodate the vegetarians. Not Mr. R. Perhaps he hates vegetarians, I don’t know. But– for the record– only a handful of the 9 people at our table actually enjoyed their meal. It started off with us informing the host we’d informed the front desk that our party had shrunk considerably, and the host, obviously disappointed, giving us his card and telling us «next time you dial me directly.» It was an awkward moment. Most were very disappointed. Some complained of the temperature. Some of the state of their meat. Me… I just didn’t think the pasta was very good. And they charge a LOT of money for it. One party member ordered a Ketel One martini. She could tell it wasn’t Ketel One. Overall… very weird and not good.
