Spacious park with playground, basketball courts, tennis court and s community center. This park is ideal for outdoor playing for both kids and adults considering the big open field.
I would not consider this a safe place to hang out after dark, to have a family event or picnic. This park I would recommend for playing…

Huge park, but defenetly not somewhere where I felt safe to bring my children to play.

Veterans Memorial Park is a huge park that is between Long Beach Blvd and Pacific Street In Long Beach. The community recreation center contains a large multi-​purpose room with a raised stage and hardwood floor, a kitchen and two classrooms. Other amenities include a lighted softball field, a lighted baseball field, a lighted soccer field, four basketball courts, two tennis courts, a volleyball court, a group picnic area, a freestanding restroom and a playground for pre-​school and school aged children.
The park is about 14.3 acres big and I often see a bunch of people running around the whole thing which I am guessing is about a mile in length. The park is bustling with activity during the day and till about 9pm or so. Basketball games are going on nonstop at this park.
I come here and play frisbee with my dog. I am not going to lie this park is a little sketchy. The cops actually drive through it regularly and there is always some drunks roaming around somewhere in the park and the smell of weed is also almost always present. I wouldn’t go here during the night but I have been going here for 5 years and have never had a problem regardless of the sketchiness.
