Cotton Patch Cafe

This is a great place if you want a menu with lots of choices. Their salads are excellant as are their vegetables. I don’t think we have eaten anything there that we did not like. My wife loves the Rabbit Platter which is a salad and three vegetables. They also have great soups and desserts. The place is always clean and the wait staff always attentive.

The food is ok for a place like this. Its clean and well run too. I really wanted to give a shout out to our great waiter here. We appreciated you.

I haven’t been to Cotton Patch in two years. It’s better than I remember? Yes, that question mark is intentional. I ordered the veggie plate which, in my opinion, is easy to do poorly. Specifically I had green beans, corn, fried okra, mashed potatoes, and black eyed peas. My complaint would be, to me, the peas were slightly oversalted. We had good service. My kids ate their meals — chicken tenders and mac & cheese. This is also quite a testament. So to answer my previous question, I think I had forgotten Cotton Patch was this good.

Dr. Pepper chocolate Cake… amazing!!! Always love to come here and eat. There is so much to choose from!

This place hasn’t always been on my list, but the past couple of years have made me a fan. That’s a reflection on the excellent management.
The food is good. One of the best chicken fried steaks in town. Service is friendly. Prices are reasonable.

The Cotton Patch, an East Texas institution, the place we’d go after a winning game or on a first date, is all grown up and has spread all over Texas.
I’m happy for them but more than anything pleasantly surprised that this old location is still doing great. I’ve seen enough places grow big and lose their charm but this spot is doing just fine.
The recipes are still good olé Southern delights. They’ve even started doing small portions on request.
Which is ideal if you’re saving room for that blackberry cobbler and ice cream, which if you ask me, I highly recommend.

Visiting for the weekend from out of town, we found this place to be convenient for lunch. Liked that we got seated quickly even though our whole party wasn’t there yet. Service got a bit sloppy after that having our orders messed up a bit and our waitress taking too much time to come back to our table to check on us. I got the pork chops, green beans and mashed potatoes. They all had one thing in common, pepper! The food was all covered in pepper so much so it made my mouth burn after a while (and I’m Mexican and love spicy food!). The dirty floors stood out a lot.

Went here for lunch today with some coworkers and I must say I was impressed! We were seated very quickly and we got our food within 10 mins of ordering. Everything was clean, our waitress was attentive, and the food was great! I had the grilled Cajun duo (tilapia and shrimp on a bed of rice) with broccoli and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. Yummy!!! This was my first visit but definitely won’t be my last.

Always consistent with great food and service. One of my favorite places to stop in Longview. Great salads.

When we first went in about 1145 they asked us (myself and husband) if we wanted a booth or table, we said booth, they took us to one of the large ones that will seat 6 – 8, we had to ask for a regular size booth (they were all emepty) THEN a guy with tatoos and ear hoops, mohawk came to take our order, his appearance did nothing for ones appatite (I could have let that go) THEN I opened my silverware and it was filthy. Not just a little speck, so I opened my husbands and it was the same. We got up and left, told them to cancel our order we would not eat where the silverware was filthy.

I WISH there was a Cotton Patch Café near me in California. Oh I wish I wish. This place is sooo yummy.
I first fell in love with their biscuits (which is basically a chunk of butter mixed with a little bit of flour — yumyumyum) and then their chicken fried steak. Last time I went, I got chicken and dumplings (tasty and filling) and cajun spiced shrimp and tilapia (also tasty). Their sides are really good. Cinnamon apples, mac and cheese, broccoli, etc. The menu is pretty big. I haven’t had the opportunity to try very much of it, but it all looks very good (including the desserts). Everyone I’ve gone with has enjoyed their meal, and I’ve gone with some pretty big parties before. We’re all fans. :)
It’s good for a small party or a large group. Service is friendly and prompt. It looks a little corporate, not sure if it is, but it’s run like a well oiled machine. Every time I’m in town, I end up going 2 – 3 times with my family. The Cotton Patch is a big reason why I always rave to my friends at home about the food in Texas.
Last time I was there they had a bunch of smaller portioned lunch specials (the previously mentioned chicken and dumplings was one of them, and I couldn’t finish it haha), which is a nice option, because this food is delicious, huge, and BUTTERY. Aka fattening. But whatever. Portion it, take some home for a second meal, and enjoy the tastinessss.
Honestly it’s probably a good thing there ISN’T a Cotton Patch here because I bet I’d end up obese. :X

Cotton Patch has wonderful chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken, but today I decided to try something healthier and ordered the grilled salmon. Much to my disappointment, the salmon was not actually grilled, as the menu stated, but it was covered in butter and spices. It was probably still healthier than chicken fried steak, but I was not happy.

I tend to give 5 stars quite often, but this place definitely deserves it. They always have good hot comfort food that is good all the time. Their managers run a tight clean ship and it’s an ideal place for a family dinner.
