7-Eleven

Usual 7 – 11.
A little sketchy late at night.
Love the fact that they have two Redboxs! They are by the front door.

It’s a 7-​Eleven. It’s alright. Prices are okay. They generally have what I need. Roller food is funny to look at.

The cashiers are rude-​they don’t even look at you when you purchase something-​just browse their phones.

ETA: after several months of going here to use the ATM (it’s the same one my credit union uses and it’s close by), I haven’t seen the jerk described below.
Got a couple of things a couple of visits recently as a result. Service was fine.
So I can recommend them again, now that the checker from hell is gone.
I’ve gone to this location on a fairly regular basis (once or twice a week) and never had a problem until tonight…
I got my stuff, went up to the register, and placed what I was buying and my reusable bag on the counter. The cashier rang me up and I paid, and he handed me my change. As he did so, I said (in a friendly enough voice) «And you can use this bag,»
He paused for a moment, and then rang up the customer behind me. Um, what?
So, after that guy paid, I said «Can I get this in a bag?»
Checker paused for a moment, slowly started putting the stuff in a bag, and had the nerve to say «Next time say please.»
EXCUSE me? If you had done your job in the first place I wouldn’t have had to ask you to do anything. And the guy behind me gave me a puzzled look, as if to say «WTF is this guy’s problem?» Good question, dude…
Checker, I am sorry if you do not like your job or if you were having a bad day, but that’s no reason to take it out on me. As I said when you finally got around to getting my things in the bag «Usually I don’t have to ask.» But don’t worry – there are plenty of other stores in the area with friendly employees, so I won’t be troubling you or that 7-​Eleven again…

I have zero complaints about this 7 – 11. It is the closest place to my apartment where I can buy beer so obviously I am a «regular». The bros behind the counter are always super nice, and usually don’t ID me (which is weird/​bad because I look like an awkward 12 year old but good because I am lazy and hate having to take my license out of my wallet)
They have two «Red Box“es in the parking lot but do people actually use those?

My friend and I had just finished an early dinner at nearly Gobi Mongolian BBQ House with other friends, when we both had a dessert craving for a Slurpee. Luckily, there was a 7-​Eleven Food Store within walking distance from our new pad, so we decided to get to know our new hood and walked the 10 minutes max.
Neither of us had been to this location before, but it didn’t matter. One thing we knew was that all 7-​Elevens had Slurpees; it’s just a matter of which flavors they had! Once we arrived, we headed to the back of the store where the Slurpee machine was located. Before us were six flavors: Fanta Wild Cherry, Coca Cola, Fanta Lemon Crème, Fanta Orange Xplosion, Fanta Sugar Free Mango, and Mountain Dew. I decided to go «suicide» and mix all available flavors, while my friend opted for only three flavors. Armed with a large size cup and dome lid in hand ($ 1.79 ea.), I simply went down the line from left to right (why complicate things!?). A slide of the white ball knob for each flavor produced the «sheesh» sound, and before we knew it, our drinkable masterpieces were complete! I didn’t care for the color my turned out (kind of a brownish-​red). Because we had just moved into our new crib in the ‘hood, we also bought a few snacks for work the next morning: a 32 oz. can each of Arizona Green Tea and Mucho Mango ($ 0.99 + $ 0.05 CRV ea.), and a monster-​sized Starbursts ($ 1.89). FYI… the store also had all the usual snack and drink items, along with travel size toiletries, and you can’t forget the hot dogs as they rotated on the steel grill. Oh thank heaven…
The weather was still warm on our walk back, but as I alluded earlier, not only was I not impressed with the color of my mixture, the resulted tasted wasn’t very pleasant either. I felt the lemon crème threw everything off and the Mountain Dew had an unusual tart taste. Of course I slurped it all down once we got home, but this concoction needed some tinkering. Obviously, this was no reflection on this store in any way.
Since we served ourselves, the only service to speak of was the cashier, and it was good. Nothing really more to say.
Parking was decent as they had their own lot. I couldn’t get over the amount of people who were lined up in front of the RedBox in front of the store. What was the hot seller?! Otherwise, you could’ve parked on the street, which I’m sure was metered (most streets in the area are).
Overall, 7-​Eleven location was a wonderful memory from my childhood, but adulthood has taken me away from this experience, except for such spur-​of-​the-​moment instances like this was (actually, twice within a week’s time). I found completely value (although probably not nutritional) as noted by the prices I quoted above (total bill was under $ 8.00; no tip required). The atmosphere was your standard convenient store with all of the drinks along the walls, food snack and such on the various aisles, magazines at the pay counter; you get the idea; maximized space in order to make a sale. The attire was completely casual, so I was in a t-​shirt, boardshorts, and flip-​flops. Come on, it’s a convenient store! And, they accepted my credit card of choice… AMEX!

I was in need of my coffee fix and this is on my route to work, so I decided to stop here. The clerk was very friendly but since it’s on a major cross street, I had to make my «own» parking spot.
There coffee service is smaller and I’m use to having a coffee attendant to clean up and do coffee refills, but the other employee was busy scanning items.
One thing that I look forward to go with my 7 – 11 coffee is the brand Hawaiian bread which they didn’t have any, not because they where out, just because they didn’t carry it. I did however notice they had several kinds of Mexican packaged sweets and bread. I can only assume they supply to the surrounding people who live in the area, I did however try the 7 – 11 mini packaged donuts and they weren’t so bad. Other then the friendly service I don’t see this as a usual spot for me to frequent… can’t help it, I’m spoiled– I like my Hawaiian bread!

The clerk is SUPER nice! Love him. I was short $ 0.60 and he told me it was no big deal… awwwww! What a sweetheart!
