I surprisingly really enjoy their sushi! It’s just a short walk from my work so I eat here once or twice a week. I always get the maki special with the crunch roll, California roll, and spicy tuna roll and it’s always rolled perfectly, the fish is fresh, and the flavors are great. The service is always nice and the food comes out pretty quick. Definitely a good place to drop in for a quick bite during the day.

I ordered a salmon teriyaki plate through grubhub which clearly stated in the description that it comes with miso soup. Well I got my order and I was missing the miso soup. No big deal. I work in the restaurant industry so I know mistakes happen. So I called the restaurant to ask them if it came with it. And the person who answered it said«YESITDOESCOMEWITHIT.» I told him I didn’t receive it in the order. And then he goes on by saying well you didn’t request it. I told him that he just told me and it clearly stated on the menu that it comes with it. NOWHEREONTHEMENUDOESITSAY I HAVETOREQUESTIT. I’m really upset because I ordered this plate specifically because it came with the soup. The person on the phone said it was my fault. I can’t believe he said that. So my fiancé calls the restaurant to talk to a manager. «JAMES» he said his name was– wasn’t much help at all. He told my fiancé «WELLNOWYOUKNOW» wow. Is that really how you treat a paying customer? I will never be eating from there again!!! They don’t care about their customers.

I have been here a few times and each time I have received great food and great service. I usually get one of the Bento boxes because you can get a variety of items. The complimentary miso soup helps me to get in a Zen state. :) This place is usually busy during the busy lunch time but it is in a place that has free parking.

This is one of the nicest place to have something to eat. Great location, have parking spot, truly authentic sushi place. If you want something not expensive and not cheap go to this place. They have free green tea which is by the way very good especially when you feel thirsty. I would recommend you to get gyoza bowl or lunch. Love this place!

The worst Service in LA! So rude staff!!! I ordered sushi combo with a grilled chicken and they brought me fried chicken with a lot of oil and sauce!!! Not the same like on pictures. I asked to change for another dish. The woman, she was the manager, told me: NO!!! We never do it! She was so rude, even didn’t try to talk to me! I was shocked!!! Bad place ! Don’t go there!

Came here for lunch on a Thursday. Not too busy for 12noon lunch hour. There were 6 other customers already dining which is a good sign. There is a Wahoo’s and Pita place on the other end of the mall … much busier … but the mom & pop feel of this place made it feel more comforting. The service at the counter was not rushed and the owner answered questions about the menu with a smile. we decided on the bulgogi plate which comes with rice and simple salad. Ithe plate does comes with a small bowl of miso soup. A definite plus! we also ordered the udon soup, shrimp tempura with 5pcs spicy tuna sushi roll. the shrimp tempura is 2pcs. The udon soup came in a generous bowl more than enough to satisfy hunger pangs. All in all, an excellent place for lunch with a friend, where u can hold a conversation and and chill. so not the college feel of wahoo’s. although there are times for that as well –prob after work. for lunch Ebisu is the better bet. Take care!

Ordered Delivery: had the California Tempura Roll and the Caterpillar Roll, and both tasted stale and flavorless. The avocado was visibly aged. The rice was semi hard. I couldn’t even taste the eel. Extremely disappointed.

This place may not look nice from the outside, but never judge a book by its cover because their food is delicious! The woman who works here is so kind and caring of her customers. She always has a smile on her face when serving and I would definitely come back! If you’re in the LA area and you’re hungry after going to all those museums/shopping, stop by to EBISU and get your money’s worth of delicious Japanese food!

We ordered Salmon teriyaki plate, and it came along with a salad, rolls and some fried vegies which were delicious! Great and cheap place to have lunch or dinner.

This became a regular to me once I found out I worked right across from it. Always ordered the California rolls or Beef Bowl?(its been a while since ive there due to a new workplace)… The lady always took my order and always greeted me with a smile. Along with my order there always was a complimentary miso soup(which id always add sauce and teriyaki to it. delicious)…I truly enjoyed this place. Very good food… simply decorated… and fair price.

Everything is great. Food. Lights. Music. Layout. Even the restrooms. The food came out quick. The only reason why I didn’t give them a 5 stars is because of the price. The price is a tad bit high for my place but I recommend this place and will be coming back.

Worst miso soup ever and my bar is pretty low on that. Korean owned Japanese joint but a bit over priced probably because of the location. No power outlet so this is not ideal for work lunch. The beef lunch box has very little beef and even the tempura looks sad. Definitely not worth $ 15. Maybe $ 9.99. Will probably patronize again only if everything else around the office is closed.

This review is kind of overdue. This place is near by house and has come in handy a few times. Food– The food is pretty good here, no complaints actually. Only little detail was that their miso soup wasn’t all that I expect it to be. Maybe a little more bland that some other places. The lobster rolls I got were pretty good. They didn’t bring any sauces out but they did once I asked so that might be how they do that in general. service– It was actually ok, I mean they don’t come by often at all and I went when it wasn’t all that busy so I expected a little better service than I got. Décor/interior– Location is pretty bland no big décor or anything but its nice and clean and quiet(probably because of how empty it was). They do have parking which is a big plus.

The service is okay and sushi is not out of the ordinary but pretty good. When I got my miso soup and I tried it I noticed it was super bland. It needed more taste for sure. I ordered the spicy tuna roll which I will have again if I go back. Make sure you ask for sauces because they don’t bring them out until you ask for it. They have parking in that shopping center. It’s a good spot if you are looking for a quick lunch.

I had lunch here recently. The service was friendly and quick. I had an avocado salad which was a large plate of mixed greens with sliced avocado and tomato which was served with a tangy ginger vinaigrette. I enjoyed the salad, although I’m not sure I would order it again as it was a little pricey at $ 6.95. I also had the Tuna World roll which was disappointing. The spicy tuna(inside) was flavorful, but the sliced tuna on top was quite tough. I would consider having lunch here again, but would likely try the hot dishes rather than sushi.

Being an avid lover of sushi I am always trying new places in search of «the new best thing»! Considering Ebisu is a short walk from my house I’m surprised I haven’t ventured in fins sample before now. It’s a very chilled out restaurant with ample seating in the style of booths and chairs, there is a counter at the back and this is where you place your order. They have a wide array of rolls, bowls and hot dishes to choose from and can even make you a customized roll if you ask nicely. The staff are super friendly and happy to accommodate any allergies or questions you may have. I ordered a few different dishes– Gyoza, Chicken Roll(made specially) and Spicy Tuna. They were all extremely fresh and came out quickly plus tasted delish! This is in no way a fancy, gourmet sushi bar but it will provide you with tasty, cheap and basic sushi with awesome service.

I’m all about getting bang for my buck. This is a great go-to for lunch. Huge portions in the bento boxes. Probably a good call too when you can’t decide what to get(mine came with tempura, chicken teriyaki, sushi, a heaping pile of rice and a side salad). So much food. I’ll be back!

Upholstery, décor and vinyl booths are dated. Feels a lot more«divey» after you enter after seeing the attractive clean logo on the door. I got in line as the guy at the cash register was asking the woman ahead of me if she would use cash instead of a credit card.(Ahh, now I know why everything looks so cheap in here.) I saw two guys in dress shirts step inside behind me, look around, look at each other and then walk out. To their credit, there is an A in the window. My food was served up quick in less than 10 mins. I got the chicken and beef teriyaki combo. The chicken was rubbery and tasted reheated. The beef was okay, but on the salty side. Both meat portions were small(3, maybe 4 tablespoon’s full) the vegetables were drowned in sauce that tasted more soy than teriyaki. Worth $ 9.00? Nope. Pros: Quick service, A in the window, large menu Cons: Substandard food preparation, portion and quality. Felt very much like a business focused on not losing money instead of focused on an investment in quality that would win customers. Won’t be back.

I come here often since it is conveniently a block away from my office building. On those days were I’m a bit too hungover or feeling lazy to pack lunch, I walk down over to EBISU to satisfy my hunger. I’ve had a few things from the menu, but I honestly almost always get the same thing; Crunch Roll special. This comes with 5 piece crunch roll, Udon, and some deep fried shrimp on the side. I’d say it’s a pretty good bargain for $ 14. Service is pretty speedy and they are very accommodating. The place can get a bid crowded, but the food comes out within 5 – 10 minutes, usually closer to 5 than 10. Don’t come here expecting the greatest sushi or udon of all time, but it definitely isn’t too shabby. For the price and location I definitely come here often. I don’t think I have ever left this place unsatisfied. Would recommend if you work nearby or are in the area.

It’s like 2.5 between meh, I’ve had better to A-OK. You walk in and notice the décor is cute with plants and japanese lanterns. But then you notice the Denny’s style booths, and the order first at the front and they’ll bring food to your table system. Um ok. So I proceeded. I expected food where you order at the front and pay first to be slightly cheaper. It’s not. $ 11.95, $ 10.95 per roll. $ 8.95 for chicken and beef teriyaki. Umm. well, ok. Maybe the portion is huge. It’s really not. Like I get more teriyaki for $ 4.95 at Flame Broiler. And the rolls are not bad. just badly rolled. And they’re chintzy with the spicy tuna. And it’s little. I would rather go down the street and get Sushi Eyaki for bigger rolls with more effort in the rolling. And I think Sushi Eyaki has $ 10 lunch combos that’s a way better deal than anything you can get here. Anyways, if you accidentally go in this strip mall, just go to Wahoo’s.
