Ambience + Décor: 2 stars Food + Drinks: 4 stars Service + Staff: 2 stars Wow, I’ve been to a lot of EPLs and sadly, this one disappoints. It’s also very annoying that this is the closest one to our home now. We love EPL, don’t get us wrong. However, the service and the lack of understanding from the staff that someone is actually going to eat the food you are preparing so mindlessly is appalling. They slap food together as if it’s playdoo, no regards for plating or making it look edible or how the burrito might fall apart if loosely wrapped. I tell you, the staff needs training 101. Second, the wait here is ridiculous! With a staff so incompetent like that I guess what can I expect? I’ve waited closed to 30 minutes for 2 burritos before. Shame, because EPL does really have great chicken and food.

lastnite when I got off work at 10:30pm, i went to el poll loca drive thru around 10:37 to get some chicken they told me they don’t have any chicken left… I couldn’t leave because two cars was in front of me and one car was in back of me… when i got to the window i asked why you don’t have any chicken left, she said the last customers took it all… I said by having a restaurant you should have a leftover food count at the end of the day? she reply YES! I don’t if they talking the leftover home…

This El Pollo Location is a hit or miss. I come sometimes during lunch. The wait time inside is about 25 minutes or longer. There’s a bunch of patrons just waiting around for their food to be ready. The location is in a strip mall & it’s the worst place you should put a drive-thru restaurant. The part where you drive thru to order is tight, other cars have to tightly squeeze by cars waiting in the drive-thru. I can only recall one time when my chicken was tasty, hot & juicy all the other times the chicken has been tough & just seemed old or overcooked. I try giving this place the benefit of the doubt but they can’t get it right.

Went to get food there today and got it to-go. The chicken was burned and dry. Plus they screwed up my order…

Got our order taken by Karen, her first time working at this location. As my friend and I were being silly, we requested some extra salsa and if she could throw away our drink we had in our car. She was great! Glad we were able to make her smile :) great service!!!

You know the quote… If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all? Screw it, this is Unilocal! I want to warn everyone about this place! I certainly do not enjoy giving negative reviews, but this place is a disaster. Here’s how it went down… I was hanging with my gf and we were craving nachos… She suggested this El Pollo Loco since we were driving nearby. We decided to go through the drive-thru. The whole experience was BAD from the beginning. The ordering process was awful, the service at the window was horrid and the food was pathetic. I should have went to get authentic Mexican food from a food truck, what was I thinking?! I don’t like to be mean, but this place deserves negative stars. At the order window, I had to repeat myself a bunch of times… It seems like they do not know the items on their menu… I must have repeated my order 10 – 15 times, really! The order: — Chicken Nachos. $ 5.29 This was just stale chips with 1 tablespoon of sour cream, «pico de gallo», and guacamole. It was awful. Not worth $ 5ATALL. — Avocado Bacon Tostada Salad. $ 6.79 So so bad. When did tostadas come with spicy red Tostadas. Not the way they were advertised. This tostada bowl came with a nasty spicy shell. If you are going to change something, at least mention it to the customer. It was so spicy, my gf couldn’t even eat it! What a waste and disappointment.
— 2 cups of water, please Water without lids? Not smart. At the window, the employee still had difficulty understanding anything we were asking for. She forgot the 2 cups of water. We had to ask her and she still was having problems… I am not sure if she has a hearing problem, but that would have made sense. She gave me 2 cups of water without lids? Really? The water will definitely spill in the car without lids. I won’t be back! I will get authentic Mexican food… what was I thinking?

There service is terrible i just went today and The tables were dirty and didn’t even offer a napkin, second of all I kept asking for a cup and they ignored me the lady was annoyed at us for some reason if I can give zero stars or at least a half star I would! The food wasn’t good ether! The«avocado quesadilla» had no cheese at all! Also it was bland and didn’t have the ingredients it was supposed to have! I used to come here and the service was ok but today was the worst.

They always take long here and they always seem to manage to get your order wrong only because it’s the closest one to my job is the only reason why come here overall service is average and I just can’t seem to understand why the drive thru crew looks so annoyed when we are the ones waiting for our food ughh. So over this place.

This location has consistently the best service of any location I’ve been to. The staff is always friendly, if you eat in they bring your food to you, and somebody makes the rounds offering condiments. My expectations were low because it’s not exactly in a fancy neighborhood, but management must be doing something right. The only downside is the parking lot and drive through are awkwardly configured, so if there’s a line for the drive through, most parking spots are blocked. Busy at peak times, easy in and out the rest of the day.

First off, EPL is one of my favorite fast food places in LA. Recently moved to the area and have been to this location several times now. Obviously this restaurant has had some issues in the past, but those issues seem to have been all cleared up. I have yet to have a bad experience here. Never encountered an employee that wasn’t friendly or did not speak english. Never had any kind unusual wait for food. This store is always clean and well maintained. Overall all I find it a perfectly good El Polo Loco. It truly does not deserve the rating it currently has.

I don’t eat here, just get it to go. The chicken avocado burrito is really good! It’s a good size for $ 5. Gonna be sad when it goes back up to like $ 7 or $ 8 or whatever it normally is. I really like their chicken too. Tasty! n makes great leftovers!

El Pollo Loco is a fast food joint, so why the heck does it take so freaking long to get your food?! I’ve been to this location at least a dozen times, and every time I regret it. The only reason I keep coming back is because it’s near my church, but seriously, the service is way too slow. I finally wrote a review today because I came in to get a quick togo order. My group of four friends and I were the only ones in there and it still took twenty minutes to get our food. On another occasion, I came in to order my usual three piece and they said they didn’t have any more chicken. No chicken at el pollo loco?! How is that even possible. I was taken aback and asked if they were making more and they simply stated that they didn’t have any more chicken. The only reason I didn’t give this place one star is because of the convenience of the location. Otherwise… booooo…

I love me some El Pollo Loco. I will get it where I see one nearby. This one here though is very special. Only person speaks fluent English. Everybody else is «como esta» this, «como esta» that. I was in line for damn near 20 minutes because ol’ girl had a coupon and she didnt understand the English on the coupon so the cashier had to explain the disclaimer to her and she still didnt understand so someone else had to come over and help. oh dear heaven!!! If i wasnt so hungry and craving El Pollo Loco, I would have walked out. The parking sucks because you don’t want to park way to far off because they neighborhood is a bit sketch. You try and squeeze your car or truck into the itty bitty parking spot hoping and praying that nobody dents your baby. And the drive-thru, ease into that bad boy at a speed of 4. Dont just swoop in there because you will hit that wall.

I have no problem cooking an elaborate Thanksgiving meal for 10 – 15 people by myself, but I can’t seem to make Spanish Rice. I needed to make a big batch of Spanish Rice for a BBQ I was hosting for my birthday. I somehow managed to burn /undercook it and was panicking in the middle of the night. When I called around to buy Spanish Rice, restaurants were charging me up to $ 70 for a container that feeds about 15 – 20 people. Since I wasn’t willing to spend THAT much for RICE, I turned to El Pollo Loco. Not only was I able to purchase a container for around $ 20, but they also gave me a discount! Woo hoo! From now on, I’m sticking with buying Spanish Rice from here.
