I’ve been coming here for about 6 years and I love the place. I come here with my boyfriend all the time. Half the time we order chili cheese fries and most of the ladies working there already know when we’re calling. They’re all very kind and always ask how my boyfriend is doing. I’ve even gotten people to go to this place because I love it so much.

Oh, Lucy! What have you gotten us into this time? i’ve visited Lucy twice now. the first time was GREAT. The second was pretty good, too… until about 5 hours later, lol. ok, i suspect about half of you just dropped off. but if you’re the bettin’ kind or a baller who pays others to digest your food for you(why be bothered?), i welcome you to read on and, by all means, take a chance. i’ll tell you on what. VISITONE(pupusas + fried egg sandwich) about a month ago was my first time ever having pupusas and, oh, was i excited. a very tasty experience! flat bread-cakes, somehow filled, as if by magic, with STUFF! pork or cheese. i had one of each! dirt cheap by westside standards. what absolutely made the meal were the flavorful red salsa and accompanying pickled cabbage, carrots and jalapeños. SUPER tasty! i supersized my meal with an egg sandwich on toasted white bread and all was right with the world. the joint’s not much to look at but there’s a variety of dishes on the menu.er. walls. ok, here’s the thing. there are large laminated photos of food plastered all over the restaurant – from breakfast to classic American and Mexican dishes… it’s a bit dizzying to decide. but after a while, i realized the photos were repeating. there’s 4 minutes i can’t get back. yes, it took me about 4 minutes to realize this. look, i can’t be ‘on’ all the time, ok? i also bought some Mexican pastries. are they Mexican or Salvadoran? idk but i always find these things a bit pasty/waxy in consistency. is it lard? makes me want to take a terry cloth towel to my tongue! and yet they’re so alluring on the shelves. they’re so fluffy! not that i’m picky. at all. well ok that’s a lie. but hey, if *you* like them, they have a gigantic selection of Mexican pastries that you can serve up, yourself, with a platter and tongs, and they bag ‘em up for you. see what i did there? . . THESECONDTIMEAROUND(pupusas + shrimp fajitas) this time the pupusas were good but the veggies were over-fermented – perhaps starting to spoil – so i only had a couple tastes. very disappointing! the shrimp were obviously from frozen, but cooked in a bold and flavorful red sauce. i ate the pupusas and about 1⁄3 of the shrimp before i wrestled the fork from my hand. that was around 2pm. around 6:30 pm i started having bad cramps and from there spent the rest of the night. umm… trying to get rid of them, lol. 10 hours. that’s all i’m going to say. who knows if it was the veggies, the pork, the queso, or the camarones. needless to say, the rest of the shrimp hit the dumpster the next morning. what else had i eaten that day? oh, just my usual cereal, sans milk. the restaurant had several customers, both visits, so i’m guessing intestinal terrorism is not a regular thing there. not sure i can stomach another visit, though, and digestion by proxy is still but a dream for me. well, Lucy, it was good while it lasted! happy Unilocaling and here’s to tasting life. ;)
