Would gave them a zero if it was an option. Food is absolutely disgusting. Don’t eat here.

Why does Farmer’s Market have this place… Expensive prices, food is plain, cooked by folks not trained to cook & the female cashier/server needs a course on customer service… Too many options to go to. Avoid or you will be writing something similar… a sucka is born everyday… don’t be one of them…

The server was nice… terrible, terrible food though. Follow your nose to somewhere delicious, there’s plenty of better places at the Farmer’s Market!

Revolting food! Tiny portions. $ 11 for meal with drink. I’ve eaten some pretty bad Chinese food in the past, but wow– I have NEVER been so grossed out that I couldn’t even finish the plate. I am literally sitting at an Italian restaurant next door, ordering something edible.

This place serious makes the best orange chicken in LA. The teriyaki chicken is really good too. The chow mien and fried rice are average. However I don’t understand why people are not giving this place five stars based on the orange chicken alone. Yeah it’s Panda Express priced, but if you had served me that orange chicken at a fancy restaurant for $ 14 a plate with no sides I would still be coming back all the time. This place is great.

Nice people great location. Food was, yes, unfortunately $ 8– roughly the same price as a panda express meal. In comparison to Panda, which I enjoy the food taste of, this food is extremely bland and unflavored. I would give more stars maybe three or four if the food tasted good. It’s a Farmers Market stall– the other one by the grove is pretty poor food as well. I like the ambience, nice people watching and cool part of the Farmer’s Market. Two stars is all I can muster, however, because of food taste. I make better orange chicken and rice at home. If you want good chinese food around here, find a Panda Express for $ 8 instead you’ll like it much more. I would say this food is in between ¼th and 1⁄3rd as good as a Panda Express meal. Darn I forgot about that decent Thai place over here– oh well. This is the absolute last time I will have chinese food at the grove/farmer’s market. Again, not terrible, but surely any other stall or restaurant here is a better lunch option. The other Chinese place here too though.

When visiting downtown LA decided to stop by the Farmers market to get a quick bite to eat. After exploring a myriad of options decided to go with simple Chinese food at this small place on one of the far corners of the market. Got the orange chicken and kung pao beef with noodles combo. As there were no sections on the plate everything mixed with each other and ended up turning into a unique dish that had the sweet sauce of the orange chicken mixing with the savory sauce of the beef resulting in a weird overall tastes. The orange chicken by itself was great with the right amount of crispiness to the chicken balanced with the sweetness of the sauce, the beef was also nicely done but the noodles could use some more seasoning. Overall I think I made it on one of their better days considering other reviews on this site as what I got was not that terrible considering how much I paid for it.

Peking kitchen is a good example of bad chinese food! Don’t get fooled by the two enthusiastic women running this place, you will end up paying for a plate of dissapointment. Our pork was seasoned with hair, the chow mein was pale brown and weird-sticky, and the rice was clumpy, burnt and crunchy. We returned the food and told the employee we would not eat it. Only one piece of pork was eaten and a few chow mein strings. Too bad the farmers market has such a bad place like this. If i could choose one place to haunt when i die, it would be this!

This place is trash!!! I’ve never seen a fast food chinese joint with so many disgusting errors in their work and environment still be open with a grade A health card review hanging on their walls smh. The food looks like pig slop or even worse than jail/prison food! Chicken and beef looked dried out as if they were left overs from last week that was microwaved in the morning and they had the nerve to stir up all the meats in their little juices that formed dry skin material over it when I approached them. They also don’t have enough spoons for each entrée so they scoop up your beef & broccoli with the same spoon they scoop orange chicken with. Noodles and rice were overcooked and stale. I swear that they just heat up old food and leftovers from previous days. Two entrée meal was over $ 8 and you have to purchase the drink seperately. I mean if you’re going to have an establishment inside the original Farmer’s Market then you too should promote healthy food. Instead, you’re poisoning people and making them candidates to appear on the show«Monsters Inside Me» because I’m sure your food has caused a few tape worms and parasites in people due to your unsanitary business. Yuck!

I ate here finally on 5⁄1 — and I’m sorry I did. It was the blandest Chinese food I’ve had in years. Go to Panda Express instead — much better and costs less!

To make a long story short, THISPLACESUCKS. I’m a 20 year old guy. My standards for food are not high at all. I don’t care where my food comes from, as long as it tastes good. Pay $ 7.99 for a two entrée one side plate. I got chowmein and the other noodle dish because my friend doesn’t eat meat. The chowmein tasted like absolutely nothing. The other noodle dish(thin, almost clear noodles) had a little more flavor in them, but the slices of mushroom tasted like they had gone bad. I was immediately worried that I might get food poisoning. Smells and looks like panda express, tastes pretty much like nothing. Some of the things on their menu they don’t even sell anymore, but haven’t taken those items off. Overall I’d say this place is just not good for anyone.

Bland, bland, bland. Inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. It’s basically Panda Express’ menu, but much worse. I threw most of it away.

i ate here for lunch today, i don’t know why. maybe because i really want to try every stall in the farmers market? bad idea. this place sucks! my stomach hates me right now too. it’s so confused, it’s wondering what the hell i introduced to it — bad food, that’s what. my co-worker ken, he didn’t like his lunch either, but he ate it all. sucker. i’m a fan of almost everything from the farmers market, but this place and the two pizza places need not be there as far as i’m concerned.

In all honesty, the food here is pretty bad. Between it and China Depot at the other end of Farmer’s Market, China Depot pretty much wins on all counts, but I wouldn’t really recommend China Depot either. Peking KItchen’s saving grace are the two things that China Depot doesn’t have: Teriyaki Chicken(which, admittedly is not even Chinese) and Fried Vermicelli. The Teriyaki Chicken is more like a sanbei ji, and although occaisionally dry and overcooked from sitting under the hot lamps for too long, the flavor is good. They don’t always have Fried Vermicelli, but when they do, it’s a nice treat. Sadly, everything else they serve is… well, flavorless crap. Go here just for the Teriyaki Chicken. Look elsewhere if you want anything else.

The food is edible, and the staff gives it to you when you ask for it, those are the pros of Peking Kitchen. Everything I have eaten here has been overcooked. Soggy broccoli beef, tough orange chicken, and dry, flavorless fried rice. There are other places in the Farmer’s Market that you can get cheap Chinese food that are probably better than Peking Chicken.
