I love veggie grill in Santa Monica close to my work so I walk and pick it up. We live near Westwood so I decided to pick some up. I don’t understand how two places can vary so much in quality! They burnt the tofu(not edible) on my bahn mi salad I asked for jalapeño and they didn’t put any, the dressing is so runny like its watered down. It just tasted so different than what I usually get. I’d rather drive further down that get it from this location again :-/

Good food. Expensive relative to some other local options. Like the cauliflower starter.

Just started working in the area and have been visiting this location very frequently lately. TOPNOTCHSERVICEFROMMIGUELANDRIXY! They definitely made my experience an A+! Great food, great service… what more can you ask for? I will definitely be coming back! Thanks again Miguel and Rixy for going the extra mile… and making me smile! ^.^

I had the crispy chickn’ plate and it was actually pretty good! As a meat eater I was iffy about this place, but the fake chicken tasted just as good as the real thing. The plate came with fried«chicken,» cauliflower mashed potatoes, and kale. I shared the plate with my friend and she actually thought it was real chicken haha. There’s also a discount for UCLA students so we got our meal for a pretty good price. Overall would visit again.

The Santa Fe Crispy Chicken was okay. I absolutely hated the bread that they serve with it. It just tastes bland and weird. The«tofu» type chicken was okay. I would rate it a 2⁄5. Overall, the sandwich was a 2⁄5. It was not amazing but it also wasn’t terrible. The fries were pretty good. The buffalo sauce is simply amazing and the ketchup was great. Lmao I think I would come back one more time to give them another chance but so far, it was an «ok» experience.

The food is very tasty, good price, large space. They have a nice app, make easy to place an order and give you rewards. My favorite dish is: Thai Tofu wrap:)

My go-to spot for lunch or whenever I’m not craving anything heavy or meaty. This location in conveniently located in the village thus it’s close to markets and ucla. Vegan friendly options that don’t hit the wallet! Bombay bowl is my usual, although I do mix it up from time to time. I tried the pea guacamole which is seasonal, but very bland. Overall, a great location and great food.

I never thought I’d see the day when I’d give a VG such a low rating. It has everything to do with this particular location’s service, and absolutely nothing to do with the VG brand. This location not only messed up my order, but 4 out of the 5 orders at my table were messed up, a few of them multiple times! Seriously. How many times can you get a kid’s meal wrong? The place wasn’t packed. We didn’t arrive at closing time. I don’t know what their problem was. Once I have to send something back a third time, it’s almost comical by then. We even joked, «They don’t know who they’re dealing with,» as one of my dinner companions that evening is the owner/founder of a popular vegan website. The manager did not offer to refund our money; she offered us free desserts instead. I had already paid for carrot cake, so that was no consolation. We were so exhausted by the entire experience that we couldn’t wait until it was over. I truly hope they get themselves together. My understanding is that it’s locations like this which has caused the VG chain to slow its expansion roll. Get it together people!

Like the restaurant up the street, Veggie Grill is where you get to explore trying fake meat and fooling yourself into becoming a vegetarian. The Veggie Grill in Westwood is super spacious and clean. Decent place to camp out for awhile if you wanted because it has everything you need. I ordered the Santa Fe «Chickn» sandwich. Unlike Native Foods, you get a free side with your entrée– hooray. I opted for the fries because I figured that I did not need to go overly healthy. Onto the sandwich, the fake meat does a great job of imitating chicken. It’s tasty and makes you consider giving up meat(for a cool five seconds). I would definitely recommend giving Veggie Grill a chance if you’re in the neighborhood for lunch.

I really enjoyed this place! the atmosphere is great and though it’s a seat down restaurant. theres no waiters take drink menu anything like but the workers still drop your meal off with the number identifier you get when order. so far I have tried the«cheeseburger, the mac n cheese and the mashed cauliflower with mushroom gravy. the mac n cheese was something I’d have to get use to because the the cheese is a nut cheese sauce. If you are already familiar this won’t be so different for you.

Wow, this place is a great place for vegetarians AND carnivores like myself. The set up is pretty interesting. I was expecting a Chipotle styled restaurant when I saw pictures on Unilocal before arriving. However, there are actually plenty of seats and booths for a nice comfy dinner or lunch. When we arrive, we ordered and paid, grabbed a seat, and food came around 5 minutes later. We got the Bad-Boy Burger(Seasonal Special) and the Santa Fe Spicy Chikin’ Burger(sides: fries and cole slaw) Wow, I’m impressed at the flavor profile of these two dishes. The Santa Fe burger came with guacamole and sliced onions and red bell peppers, which served to balance out the dish. What I was most impressed with was the vegetarian chicken The texture of a chicken breast patty was there, but it was NOT chicken. haha It was moist and was really good. Overall, liked the Santa Fe burger more than the Bad-boy burger. The bad boy burger came with the vegetarian patty that you can get at costco in those huge wholesale packages. It was pretty moist but just didn’t compare to the Santa Fe. If you’re a UCLA student, you can get a promo. We got a free drink hehe. Try out the pomegranate green tea. WOW, it is nice and refreshing after eating that burger. Since it was our first time at Veggie Grill, they threw in a free carrot cake. It was so nice of them! Haven’t tried the carrot cake yet because the entrée was rather filling and we couldn’t stuff anymore into out bellies-will update the review once we do try it. The excellent service was great and earned Veggie Grill another star! Can’t wait to come back and try some of the other dishes.

You walk into Veggie Grill and just feel like it’s a cool place to be. The décor is modern and fun, the music is up beat, and the staff has some big smiles. The menu is fun, even for someone who is a huge carnivore. Admittedly I was scared of what I would end up eating, but I had a nice meal. The fries were a high point which were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The location is big and you can definitely have a good time hanging out over lunch or even studying here, and you should because the prices are as good as the food.

Mac and cheese tasted pretty decent BUT a little sweet like vanilla. Nachos came loaded, but delivery makes for soggy nachos. Sourdough chicken sandwich and buffalo chicken wrap both satisfied our cravings. Only negative, my soup never arrived but Doordash remedied that quickly with a credit to my account.

This place is pretty awesome, especially if you’re a UCLA student. You can get a discounted meal for $ 7.67 which includes an entrée and drink(normally $ 10+). The food is tasty and portions are sizable. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad which came with tomato corn salsa, avocado, buffalo«chicken», celery, and ranch on the side. I’m not a vegetarian by any means, but i actually liked the fake chicken. My bf ordered the fried chicken sandwich which came with an order of fries. The fries were soo good! The drink options were also pretty good, I liked the pomegranate green tea a lot. I’d definitely come back again!

This is the first vegetarian place that I’ve tried, and I definitely don’t regret going. No I’m not saying that I’m forsaking meat forever. But Veggie Grill has become one of my new favorite lunch places in Westwood. As a UCLA student, you can get their special for just a bit over 7 bucks! This includes an entrée plus a drink! It is such a great deal for the amount of food you are getting and the quality of the ingredients as well. I have to say that before my friend recommended I come here, I thought that I would hate these vegetarian places. But my fears were completely misplaced. The food isn’t meant to be taken as some meat substitute, but rather delicious dishes in themselves. If I’m looking for something light yet filling during lunch, this place hits the spot 10 times over. First, the drink they have lemonade and tea. I always get around half lemonade and half tea mix since the lemonade errs on the sweet side and the tea isn’t at all. A trick I picked up from my friend who comes here all the time. For the entrée, I recommend for the first time to try the Sante Fe Chikin. It is a beautiful creation of their soy based chikin topped with a guacamole spread and accompanied by your choice of soup or fries! I recommend getting their soups; I’m always craving more. After you fall in love with the Sante Fe, I recommend trying the crab cake as well. You can’t go wrong with either.

MIKE is the BEST! Thanks for your great service and smile today! Love the cauliflower and street corn appetizers. The kale caesar salad with avocado and croutons is delicious. Their lemonades and iced teas are always refreshing, and never too sweet. My favorite is the carrot cake — the frosting is so light, almost creamy and the cake is moist, topped perfectly with little bits of walnuts. YUM! Free one hour parking with purchase!

As an omnivore, I concede just can’t give this place a fair review. If I were vegan or vegetarian, Veggie Grill would gain much higher marks from me. But alas, every time someone convinces me to eat hear, as decent as the«chickin» tastes, I still always want the real thing. If I MUST eat at Veggie Grill, I usually order the buffalo chickin salad or wrap. I like the crispy breaded chickin doused in buffalo, and the bleu cheese dressing really puts it over the top. It’s just a classic combination. But I’d still prefer the real thing, especially considering it’s not really a more health conscious option. I like that they take phone orders, and pick-up is really hassle free. This location never tends to get too busy, except maybe during the lunch rush.

Veggie Grill is my first vegetarian restaurant in LA and it has become my main choice ever since(I even prefer it over Native Foods Café). I’m usually very happy about what I choose from the menu. Honestly, I can’t tell too much of a difference between their«fried chicken» that I might actually prefer these over real chicken. Some of my favorites from the menu: — Santa Fe Crispy Chickin’($ 10.35) — All Hail Kale($ 9.95) — Buffalo Wings($ 6.95) — Sweetheart Fries($ 4.65) The dish that I didn’t like was the Bombay Bowl($ 9.50) because it tasted too dry for my liking. Lastly, get their Strawberry Lemonade! It has the perfect amount of sweetness and tart. Sometimes, I come to Veggie Grill just for this! Perfect for summer days. There’s a small parking lot in the back and street parking in the front.
