I always love shopping at La Gioia Company. Kathy’s lunches and the entire experience is much more than just a purchase. This boutique is really a place of fun and learning. If a visitor is lucky enough to have lunch, it will come with Kathy explaining what each dish is about. Always a fun surprise awaits. Last time I was there we dressed in capes and masks to celebrate the new year and carnevale 2016. Before that, I attended a class on making limoncello, a great gift for the holidays.
And I have not even mentioned the items for sale! It’s like visiting Italy for the afternoon but without the 20 hour flight.

Kathy is a wonderful, genuine person who offers classes and sells such beautiful Italian art pieces. I bought two hand painted necklaces last year and can’t wait to buy more this year. One of the nicest persons I have met in a long time. Must see her Italian art.

Kathy is amazing! She is very kind and accommodating. I really appreciated all the emails back and forth to answer my many questions. I had a lovely experience looking and buying some amazing pieces of furniture, which I consider art. I look forward to maintaining a relationship with Kathy and her business as the years come. I was first introduced to Gioia Company at their booth at Villa Montalvo’s holiday gift faire. I tracked her down when I couldn’t figure out what to get my sister for Christmas (she had admired the masks on display at the faire).
Kathy was very accomodating and sweet. I spent probably an hour hemming and hawing as I tried to pick a mask that I thought my sister would like. In the end, I picked something that my sister LOVED. The secret? I had pretty much decided on a different mask but Kathy said she thought my sis would prefer the other. I went with her recommendation.
My sister and I also went to her luncheon the next month. Kathy served some great Italian food and gave great deals on her products. While there, my sister saw the other mask I almost picked for her (Kathy was nice enough to say we could exchange if we wanted) and my sister said she was glad I gave her the other one! Score one for Kathy!

Kathy Winkelman of Gioia Company is a fabulous woman who sells Italian and American Italian Arts. She treats you like she has known you for years! The first time I went to her home she gave me something to drink, then she gave me a plate of appetizers, then a main Italian dish. There was no pressure to buy. She had a genuine interest in you as a person! She is definately one of a kind and her only expectation is that you feel the joy!!!
