2 years since my first review and we love the place even more. The dumplings are better then ever and i love the boneless sparerib specials. The owners here are super nice. They are like family now more than a business we deal with. They even gave my kids real Christmas presents. I cannot say enough about the food and people behind the restaurant.

I wish I never ordered from this dump of an establishment! We ordered crab ran goons which were sour! We call and tell the lady and she says she’ll give us credit we asked her to bring something else instead and she said it was going to be a long time because of the weather. It’s not snowing it’s just cold. We open up our wonton egg drop soup which was edible. Next we open our chicken and broccoli and beef and broccoli. The chicken was like rubber, my fiancé had to pick the chicken out and eat mushy rice and broccoli. The beef wasn’t as bad but not good either. All in all there is not one good Chinese restaurant in this area at all! Never againN

The delivery is extremely fast but the pint is not a pint, probably a little smaller. The food is hit or miss. On my last delivery I ordered chicken on a skewer and it was so burnt it wasn’t even edible. How do you send that out when you clearly saw it when it came out of the fryer or oven? It was quite embarrassing to send black chicken.

I frequently order from the lunch menu here. The prices are incredibly reasonable when buying for one. Their pint orders tend to be less than other local chinese restaurants, but they’re quart sizes are essentially the same. When you order from a combo platter you get the fried rice that comes with the egg in it. Regular roast pork fried rice comes chock full of pork and fresh vegetables. I enjoy their general tsao’s chicken, because it comes with the little red pepper’s that give it so much extra flavor. Their sesame chicken is a little too sticky for my liking. Like all chinese, makes for a great reheat. On the other hand, their garlic sauce was just a little too dark for my dad and I’s taste. The service is very polite, and the décor is a bit stereotypical chinese takeout. Good place for a quick eat.

This place is pretty much average. My wife loves their Hot and Sour soup, oddly enough another Unilocaler said that it’s no good. I don’t eat it so whatever. The owner is very nice. My biggest complaint here is that they use tin trays for the food, they always wind up leaking and create a mess. They offer bubble tea, but it’s not very good.

After trying out most of the Chinese restaurants in the Lynbrook/East Rockaway area, it must be said that Mom’s Kitchen wins by a landslide mostly because they are the only restaurant that makes boneless spareribs just the way I like it – well-done, as requested, and seasoned to perfection. It’s not slathered in goo like everywhere else does. They’re just the right amount of juiciness without being too dry. Just right. Also, the lady that works there is a sweetheart and really nice to me and my kids.

My opinion is that this place is better than the average Chinese take out establishment. I’m a huge fan of how they make their moo shoo pork.

Friendly owner. Food is ok, nothing special. Hot and sour soup not very good. Otherwise, the rest is not bad, not great either.

better than average chinese in a very clean restaurant. i ordered the chicken lo mein. it had a variety of veges and a lot of chicken. they also have smoothies and a ton of flavors of iced tea. those will come in handy for the summer. can’t wait to go back and try one.

I’m sorry Moms Kitchen. I really wanted to like you. I was generous with the two stars because the delivery man was so nice. The food was not good at all. I usually order from Little Fu’s, but am constantly looking for another place because their prices are outrageous, and the people that work there are rude, but the food is pretty good. So I read reviews for moms kitchen and thought I would give it a try. The lomein and mushroom chicken had absolutely no flavor. They messed up my dumpling order, and the rest of the food was so so.

Pretty good food. Tastes fresh and seems healthier than other chinese take out places. They dont glob a ton of sauce on their food. They also make delicious bubble tea!

This place is kind of a dive. It’s really never looks clean inside. The last time there I once General Tsao’s chicken that was RAW when I got it home. I returned it only to be told«that’s how we cook chicken». It was mushy and disgusting — will not go back!

Mom’s Kitchen offers a wide selection of Chinese food, with a heavy representation of Canton and Szechuan province choices. After sampling some of my usual favorites, I believe that the Cantonese menu items are the better. The wonton soup is very good, and features a flavorful, not too salty broth, with firm fresh wontons filled with nicely seasoned meat. However, the soup is missing the customary seaweed and thinly sliced roast pork. Egg rolls are disappointing, and should be improved by using a larger wrapper, and filling it with fresher vegetables and more pork. Scallion pancakes are very good, and filled with fragrant green onions, in a product that is crispy on the outside, yet soft and light on the inside. Highly recommended. I enjoyed the dim sum, which was very fresh and tasty. If you order this, ask them to add extra sauce for best flavor. The Shrimp Toast was burned black, and I was shocked that the cook didn’t trash it, before I had to. The Shrimp with Lobster Sauce combination platter featured nice sized and well flavored shrimp, but the sauce it was swimming in contained superfluous peas and carrots, and was much too bland, and lacking the essential lobster flavor that usually makes this dish so popular. The fried rice is light-colored, indicating insufficient soy sauce, and resulting in less good flavor than it should contain. When I asked them to add more soy sauce, and make the rice darker, they accommodated me. The result was a very well flavored, and pretty good roast pork fried rice. Like most takeouts, duck sauce is packaged in small cellophane envelopes, which dispense very small amounts of cheap factory-manufactured and tasteless liquid. Not even close to the homemade kind that is served in the upscale eateries. When I go for Chinese food, one of the first things I do is taste the complementary fried noodles. If they’re fresh, wide, and homemade, it tells me that the restaurant really wants to please the customer. If they are dry and thin and look baked, I get the opposite message, and order sparingly and cautiously. It may not be scientific, but it tells a lot. They deliver and take credit cards.

I really, really love this place. The family is wonderful, they have the cutest kids, and the food is just the best! I used to go to Fu Yu Kitchen all the time, but they moved to the Bronx… Mom’s Kitchen was discovered after systematically trying all nearby take-out places. Mom’s wins by far. A great replacement for Fu Yu! They also make BUBBLETEA!!!
