Overpriced and overrated. As soon as I read the review from Queens I should have known. I have lived here for 7 years and have yet to find Chinese food comparable to Brooklyn, Queens, or Manhattan. We called in our order and picked it up(45 minute delivery time). The long delivery time actually seemed promising. «This place is in high demand», I thought. When my husband came home and I unpacked the food, the pineapple chunks in the sweet and sour sauce were another good sign. It was all down hill from there. Small portions for the price and the taste was typical compared to other L.I. Chinese food. And then there is the fact that they left one of our menu items out. I called and they said 40 minute wait to deliver. !? We picked up the first time and they made the mistake. Seems to me good customer service would dictate that they correct their own mistake. My husband went out again to pick it up. Sorry folks, just because a place has a sit-down dining room with tablecloths doesn’t mean it is all that. Next time we are back to our old standby in Oceanside.

So Far So Good offers some of the best Chinese food New York has to offer. Everything is delicious here, and you can really tell you are getting something that is a step above take-out Chinese. Early bird and lunch specials are amazing as you can get soup and egg rolls with your entrée. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The place is big so there is rarely a wait. They give really big portions here, and its great getting a few entrees among the group and every one shares. They even have Japanese Entrees and Sushi! Only con is they don’t have parking lot.

Ate here last night with a party of 8(3 are kids). The seating was easy. Even with a large party we were seated without a wait. This was very good and made our hungry group very happy. The waiter was very nice when we arrived and took our appeteizer and soup order first… the issue here is he did not come back for our regular orders until we finished eating our appetizers! Hello? The food itself was good for what it was. The Chicken dumpling was good, but not much in terms of flavor without the sauce. The soup was the best part of the meal. I loved my egg drop/wonton mix. The rest of the food was generally small portions, making sharing difficult… this is abnormal for Chinese places. I was still hungry when i left. The broccoli was hard on the chicken and broccoli order. The Lemon chicken sauce was very good. As you can see the food was generally uneven in taste. Some good, some meh, In general, it was the definition of OK.

The portions are good, I had ordered a lunch special and got enough food to split for two days. The food came pretty quickly and wasn’t overly salty. I had the chicken lo mein with chicken wings. 8 pcs of chicken and the lo mein cost 13.95. Which is on the average side for lunch in NY. Don’t put the hot mustard on anything. It tastes like foot powder but the duck sauce is amazing. This is not the best chinese food you will ever have but it is good when you are hungry and start to consider if the paper on your desk is edible.

My family has been coming here for years. The owner knows my uncle by name. They are always friendly and accommodating. The food is always great.

Pretty good meal, since it’s not NYC– OK, I’m a snob!

I ordered food from So Far So Good for the first time last night. I read the reviews about the food from the people on the site before ordering. I have found it impossible to find quality Chinese food since moving to Nassau county from Queens so I figured I would give this restaurant a try. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. The food was horrible and tasteless. Additionally I got sick from the food and was up all night with severe stomach problems. One of the items i ordered, scallion pancakes, looked and tasted like fried cardboard! It contained no scallions at all? Don’t know what it had in it but it was awful. I guess I will continue to have to go back to Queens to get quality Chinese food

Rarely give 5 stars unless the second time beats the first experience which did. Went on Sunday around 6pm. Place was a FULLHOUSE. I was a 2 person party so we managed to get seating quickly. Like the first time, fried noodles with dipping sauces and hot tea served immediately once seated. We were seated on the other side(smaller section) of the restaurant which consisted of about 10 tables. One waiter was in charge of our seating area! And he managed to deliver EXCEPTIONAL service to everyone including us. I watched how fast and attentive he was. Amazing. And once we ordered our food which was delicious it was served in 10 mins! Remember it was a FULLHOUSE. There was a miscommunication with one of our orders but he was apologetic and correct order came well presented in about 5 or so. Wow! I would totally recommend you to come here if you want fast, well presented, well portioned, FRESH, reasonably priced, authentic Chinese food plus a great customer service experience !
