Turanos Pizzeria

My favorite salad: I love going here for the salad with steak and shrimp in it. And the penne vodka is also excellent. I love the waitstaff too. They are polite, friendly and personable.

Stopped ordering from here a few years ago because service was terrible and staff was of questionable intelligence. Example: I phoned in an order and asked for a «large cheese» and the response was «a cheese what?». Huh??? Heard was under new mgmt and tried it again. Food is still fantastic and the service is much, much better. Great pizza (some interesting special pies) and chicken parm is amazing. If you can — pick it up or eat in. As with most places you are rolling the dice when you have it delivered.

Place a phone order pizza was cold harly any sauce even the garlic knots were cold. Cold antipasto wasn’t that great. Unsatisfied customer

I came here on vacation and was very happy with my experience. The staff was extremely nice, they brought our pizza out to the table in less then fifteen minutes of ordering. It was a good pizza and I had a wonderful experience.

This evening the hubby and I were craving pizza and wings, and made the mistake of coming here.

where do i start? well i have not use my Unilocal account in almost 4 years. Well after my experience here i figured i should let the people know. As the common man says We The People. i feel like the people should know about turanos pizzeria. First off, upon taking the garbage out a coupon fell out for this pizzeria. I thought it was a sign because, come on how often does it happen? So me and buddy ordered what seemed to be a deal but my god i wouldve settled for anything else. after an hour of waiting the delivery boy (or lack of one) just came with 2 items which were breadsticks and coke. At first i thought ok hey maybe he just forgot the pizza and he’s gonna bring it. NOPE. next thing i know speed racer is gunning it down my block, luckily my friend who is very fast caught up and explained to the delivery boy what happened and he promised to come back with a fresh pizza. let me say that again FRESH PIZZA. so that took another 30 minutes and we were left to snack on what seemed to be bread socks. Now take a moment, remember when you were in high school and you had those sweaty socks that you wore cause you were too lazy to wash? is it all coming back to you? well THOSE would be more appetizing then those Soggy lady finger cookies dipped in water and sat on. So after 2 angry customers and an episode of the office later, the pizza finally came. Now the best part. the pizza. lets just say that if you took white bread, threw some ketchup on it, covered it in american cheese and cut up hot dogs on it. It would be better then the sweaty pie we got. the pizza was bleh. Yes, if bleh had a taste turanos would be behind that taste. this place is not appetizing and i will NEVER eat here again. please the only thing left to do is BOYCOTT. SHAME. SHAME… SHAME.

I would like to thank Turanos Pizzeria for motivating me to open, sign up and begin writing Unilocal about restaurants I eat at. My experience at Turanos was that terrible. I should’ve known it be terrible when I found their coupon in my friends trash can. First of all after making the phone call, I received a call back because they had forgotten half my order. Second I was going to write a Unilocal right away but I realized I only received my «breadsticks» and my coke. No one gets delivery on just «breadsticks». I thought «hmm, maybe this guy can’t carry a paper bag and a coke and a pizza box, he’ll be back.» NOPE. Sure enough– he left ;when I chased him down the street he told me he forgot the pizza. So while I wait for the pizza, let me describe the «breadsticks» to you. Imagine a ladyfinger cookie dipped in water… but instead of water it looked like it was drenched in sweat. Garlicky sweat. The coca-​cola was decent. Best part of the delivery. So I finally get my pizza — 30 minutes later. Same cold pizza. No effort in giving me a fresh pie. I open it because Hey I’m starving. And I sure as hell was not going to eat the «breadsticks». So the pizza was cooked in the same sweat as the breadsticks. Disgusting. I think a lunchables pizza has more love into it. I had to order another pizza to avoid the trauma of Turanos Pizzeria! Avoid this pizzeria at All cost unless you want bad food. Boycott Turanos! Shame, Shame, Shame.

Affer reading lots of reviews, I must say I was incredibly underwhelmed by their pizza. The crust/​dough was very bland & the sauce is a little too sweet and salty for me. On the plus side, they delivered right on time and the driver was polite.

I like this place. They have recently changed ownership and all the previous reviews are for the old one.
When we order delivery–
Food is fast, they are Pleasent, make suggestions and the bruschetta is fresh and flavorful. Give em a shot!

Turano’s Pizza Pasta Grill, Lyndhurst, NJ
I just had to have some thin crust pizza before I left NJ, and I was told that Turano’s Pizza in Lyndhurst, NJ is very good. I’m Italian and fussy… need I say more? It’s a cute small pizzeria and pasta grill and seats about 40 people.
We ordered a thin-​crust pizza with sausage, mushroom, and pepperoni.
In about 8 minutes, we were served a beautiful oven-​hot pizza with just the right amount of sausage, mushroom and pepperoni.
I judge my pizza in two ways…#1 for it’s crust — must be thin and crispy on the bottom… and #2 for the oil dripping off the pizza while you eat it.
Oh yes, it has to taste good — usually the flavor of the sauce is the deciding factor. I give this pizza a #9 on the richter scale… it’s tasty, thin, and has a good amount of olive oil dripping down the slice as you eat it.
I’m going back for more on my next trip to NJ.

Decent pizza. Under new management.
This place is literally around the corner from my house — only ever ordered pizza from them. Quick for pickup — 15 – 20 min tops. Friendly guys when I go in, my husband has had mixed feelings of the guys behind the counter.
Cute décor, they have a nice outdoor seating area during the summer months. They are my saving grace when dinner is the most difficult decision to make or it is getting late to grab something.

My wife and I were wanting to try a new place and have certain diet restrictions. We found something we could both order for delivery.
The food we ordered first came a whole hour and ten minutes after being told 30 – 40 min wait. The food did come warm. When I called back they claimed to be extremely busy.
One order was broccoli rob which was swimming in about an inch of oil mash potatoes lumped on top and grilled chicken that was dry and looked like it had been cooked earlier and just reheated.
Chicken wings we ordered were very dry. Burnt not even well done.
Only relative salvation was the eggplant parm. But with so many great places in the area that make good eggplant parm, their version isn’t good enough for me to want to order from here again.
Here is the big problem. I was so irritated with the quality of the food I jumped in the car in the rain to complain to the restaurant and show them their screw up.
Very poor customer service as neither the cook or the person taking calls wanted to take blame. The cook blankly stared at me as if there were no problem and the person taking calls didn’t really stop taking calls to help me. I simply showed them the dish and asked them «Would you eat this?» No response. They were short and curt offering just to replace it with something else. I simply requested a refund as I didn’t trust anything else coming out of the kitchen.
A third person was called to give me money back and nothing else was said. They put no effort in apologizing or making things right.
Bad food is one thing but bad customer service is unacceptable especially in today’s day and age.
Btw they weren’t busy. No one was sitting in the dining area. Can only assume the people calling keeping them busy are other unsuspecting customers not knowing what they’re in for.

This is the best place for lunch i love grill chicken sub. it is very nice.

The pizzas horrible, not sure what the rest of their food is like, but I think I’ll pass. Not to mention the staff is horrible and rude.

I would give it no stars if I could. Ordered a special which included a large pizza, chicken parm platter and penne vodka. Added on a meatball sandwich. The chicken parm platter consisted of two very small pieces of chicken, the penne vodka was only half full and the meatball sub was basically a bread sandwich. I decided to give this place a second chance agter the previous time I ordered when it took 90 minutes to get my food and boy am I sorry. I usually order from Lyndhurst Pizza and I am going back to them. The food there is great and plentiful.

I’ve been coming on and off for the last few years and I always like their food. I think their pizza is better than Foschini’s and Mr. Bruno’s (and let’s not even get into A1 or Chris’ or Jo-Jo’s).
One gripe: there’s a whole lot of attitude coming off most the workers which makes delivery the better option, for sure.

I ordered from this place a few months ago for delivery. When the food came it was missing a third of the order. They had charged me the full amount so I asked the kid to bring the rest back. I followed up with a call to the shop and the girl on the phone said they would be right over with the rest of the food. I waited and waited and they never came and they stopped answering my calls. When I called up the next day they said the owner would call me back and he never did. So they stole from me ! Then last night my wife wanted a burger and I wanted Italian. So i ordered from them again. It took them an hour and a half to get there even though they said 40 minutes and the food was awfull. Do not order from here the food sucks and the service is a nightmare. STAY AWAY !!!
