Just left Home Depot after shopping for lumber; something I know little about. One sales guy was nice enough to point and tell me which aisle but he didn’t want to stop unloading a box to walk me over and help me. Saw two associates watching the self check out while leaving. Heading to Lowes now.

Most Home Depots are the same you say? Not so much. This particular location has one pet peeve of mine. Every time I walk in there, I am accosted by an employee trying to get me to buy something. It could be opening a HD credit card (already have one). Or buying a new furnace for my 2 year old home… or today, having a «free» water usage analysis that I’m sure will cost me thousands of dollars. No thanks. If I’m obviously in a hurry looking for one item to complete a project, please don’t bother me with an unsolicited upsell. Put up a table and let me come to you if you have a service to offer, but don’t badger me in the aisle when I’m just trying to find one item. No other location does that… just this one. I’ll drive out of my way to Streetsboro from now on.

Overall: Usual Home Depot, with good selection for standard items and sporadic customer service.
Selection: 3 stars. They have standard items and a few finishes in stock but anything non-​standard is through the internet.
Price: 3 stars. Prices are competitive, but I usually prefer Lowes because of their 5% discount on the credit card.
Customer Service: 3 stars. It varies by employee, but they tend to not go too much out of their way. I’d prefer they walk me over to an item instead of pointing.

Nice location, clean, well kept aisles. Friendly help. Typical big box hardware store. Selection could be a bit broader. but overall good experience.

The wonderful man in the lighting section was not able to find the part I needed to fix a pendant light in his department, and I thanked him for trying and went on shopping… but still thought about my problem after leaving me and he remembered something in the discount rack that might work and chased me down in the hardware section after he found it. Great service!
