Pretty good food, i enjoyed the crab rangoon and cheesy crab meat most although everything was satisfactory. It was a little bit pricey but not too crazy. For an all you can eat buffet i dont have any complaints. I will definatley return. Great service too, everybody is very nice and personable.

Not bad, I understand it’s a all you can eat, but still doesn’t seem worth it for the price. I’ll only come here if I’m with a crew that all decides to come. Not the best, not the worst. I’ll probably come Back again.

They started our meal by putting a bucket on the table — that turned out to define this place very accurately. Came here on a recommendation from a friend– his recommendations will no longer be taken. Place seemed kind of grimy and I always assume the cleanliness of the kitchen can be determined by how they keep the bathroom. Bathroom was like a roadside rest area. To boot it was over $ 50

They don’t wash their vegetables. Found a bunch of dirt on their bok Choy at their noodle station. Only went there because my in-laws love buffets.

As an adventurous eater, I’ve long gotten used to the fact that I will get food poisoning sometimes. Occasionally it’s because I’m not used to some kind of microorganism that lives in something tasty and fermented, and I just have to deal with a day of feeling weird before my guts settle down and I can eat it later without fear; occasionally I spend an evening projectile vomiting and crying in the E.R. because someone near and dear to me decided to deep-fry a bird without checking to make sure that it was not raw and oozing in the middle. The question you have to ask yourself, as an adventurous eater, is: Is it worth the food poisoning? I’m not sure that the Fuji Buffet is. I’ve been several times, and it’s clear that the quality of the food varies immensely depending on the day and special. Are the crab legs good when it’s crab day? Hella. Is the sushi buffet amazing on the weekend for dinner? Incredible. How about the dim sum at brunch? Delicious. But if it’s not an especially busy time for something, there is little attention paid to it. On this last visit, I ate dishes such as the following, any one of which could have contributed to my symptoms: Lightly breaded calamari(worth it; the breading was crisp without being overwhelming, and the calamari was done to perfection) Seafood mélange with vegetables(worth it as well; the scallops were good and the shrimp pretty acceptable, while the vegetables were fresh and not overcooked) Big fried scallops(not worth it; scallops well-cooked are amazing but these were dry little cakes) Clams(not worth it this time; the clams had a good texture but were oversauced in a generic brown sauce. They’ve had great fresh clams before though) Sushi(the salmon and the crab nigiri was delightful, the tuna nigiri dry, and the mackerel nigiri a bit off; the rolls were quite good, not the best I’ve ever had but I would pay $ 15 to eat my fill if I came hungry) Crawdads(I can’t figure out how to eat these things, somebody help me) A whole crab(don’t do this) Sadly, there were no snails. On my last visit I tried snails for the first time and was favorably impressed. The other dishes vary in quality. The bubble tea was very tasty; if you want a palate cleanser eat a lychee; the tapioca milk soup is literally just tapioca bubbles in milk; there are duck feet and chicken feet and you should try them at least once in your life just to see how they are; the beef brisket was quite good; I didn’t get the chicken dishes(I no longer trust chicken) but my girlfriend said that they were really good and well-spiced. Also, the steamed bok choy I got just to make sure I had something green on my plate was prepared nicely. Fuji is great to go if you go during a seafood special when they’re apt to pay special attention to the quality and freshness of what they have out. Is that worth a day of loose poops and mild stomach cramps? Sure, if you’re not a giant pussy. But if you’re not there for something special, it’s just not worth it.

Not bad for an Asian buffet, but coming from the Bay Area I set my expectations low, so I wouldn’t be disappointed. There’s a vast array of seafood and sushi options. I liked that they had a noodle soup station where you could make your soup and add as much veggies to your liking. Sushi was just okay, I mostly stuck with the seafood options. Not sure if I’d come back, but it’s decent for Michigan.

its $ 20 to eat there. It is mostly a Taiwanese restaurant it seems Interior just smells badly, food tastes undercooked, microwaved and the quality goes down drastically with every passing year. It sadly is worse than other asian buffets :( I suggest you go a little further and check out 168 asian mart instead

There is a huge variety, but everything tastes so bad. Old, poorly cooked, recooked, old tasting food. Compared to other typical Asian buffets, this one falls below expectations. The ambiance is a bit unattractive too. Just feels dirty in this place. Same goes for clientele. Service was attentive, but not pleasant or friendly. Location is good. Placed within a shopping court.

I’ve frequented this place since it first opened maybe seven years ago, so I obviously like the place. My review is, then, in part a response to some of the other reviews here. A lot of the criticism is right on: the décor is shabby, the bathrooms are unkept, the tables not always spotless, and some servers are rude or generally inattentive. Chinese restaurants — and, despite the branding, this one is Chinese through and through(I’ve known the owner for a few years) — don’t think their primary customers care about these things if they get other things(keep reading) right, and in my case and considering the restaurant’s success so far, they’re right.(It should be said, though, that they don’t add gratuities without telling you except as advertised on Tuesdays, when they do a hotpot dinner.) Neither is this restaurant competing on the quality of individual dishes. Most buffets don’t.(There’s a ChiChi’s right next door and that place is essentially Costco’s frozen aisle put through a giant microwave.) No individual dish here is likely to be the best version of that dish you’ve ever had at a traditional restaurant, especially the essentially American dishes that the chefs probably only learned to prepare once they started working at the place: fried chicken, fried rice, lao mien, ragoon.(Honestly, who goes to an asian buffet and eats fried chicken?) Some complaints about freshness are hyperbolic. I’ve a very sensitive stomach and have never gotten sick after eating here. But some item are indeed stale. They’re, by definition, the stuff nobody eats, and, for better or worse, Fuji doesn’t have a policy of throwing stuff out every hour(maybe even every day) to keep everything looking pristine. So keep away from the oysters, the shrimp on ice, and the jello, and, even better, visit on the busier days(the weekend, generally) and you’ll be fine. So why, despite all these negatives, do I come to this place? Because I get more of a larger variety of decent-tasting dishes per dollar than I think do anywhere else in suburban Detroit. Consider the sushi bar alone(which, contrary to what other reviews indicate, get such high turnover on most days that it’s impossible for most items to sit out for more than an hour). Noble Fish(the sushi spot everyone raves about) charges $ 2.30 per salmon nigiri. So for what Fuji charges for a weekend lunch($ 17), you can either get seven pieces of nigiri with fresher fish and more thoughtfully prepared rice or an unlimited number of a lower-quality version. Now add an unlimited number of eel, mackerel, tuna, clam, squid, egg and imitation crab nigiris, the Californian, spicy tuna, vegetarian, salmon skin, and tofu rolls, some of my preferred hot dishes(stir-fried green beans, white button mushrooms or Chinese kale, steamed white fish, roasted tripe, and shrimp or sweet potato tempura), some carnivore-friendly dishes(dry-roasted rib fillet, shu mai, made-to-order dumpling soup and roasted pork and dried-tofu) and a variety of fruits, ice cream, cheese cake and other baked goods. And that’s the whole idea of a buffet after all, isn’t it: choice and quantity? If the idea of pigging out on any combination of these dishes to your appetite’s content isn’t appealing, then there’s no reason to come to this place. Otherwise, I would recommend it highly.

HORRIBLEHORRIBLEHORRIBLE I went into this restaurant not expecting anything special, it’s an Asian buffet after all. But when the food is old, cold, tastes bad I gotta pull out the phone and start Unilocal’ing! First of all the sushi was old and smelled nasty. It looked like it’s been there for hours. Then the food… Yuck! The beef was all fatty and tasted weird, the spring rolls we’re stale… Just so many more things that I would list but I don’t feel like being on Unilocal for 3 hours. Save your money! Not worth $ 5 a person much less the actual cover charge of $ 20 a person!

My favorite Chinese Buffet in metro Detroit. Despite the high rating, it is still a buffet, so there will be no James Beard nomination here. However, as Chinese buffets go, this is top notch. Along with the standard offerings, this place steps it up notch with a huge sushi selection, a variety of made to order soups(phở, udon, etc.) and dim sum. Also, they include more unique fare like frog legs, crawfish and pan fried lobster(Weekends only). Finally, they even have an option for Chinese hot pot, which is like fondue or shabu shabu. If you are a fan of Chinese food and buffets, Fuji is for you. They offer enough variety that basically anyone can find something to enjoy.

I wish I can give zero star. Horrible service and bad bad bad food. Me and my bf were there only for hot pot and eww the broth was just like water. So we decided just to eat buffet and told the server to shut the heat off from hot pot table and to take the hot pot stuff away so we can have more space. And SHESTARTYELLINGATUS! she was yelling at us that it’s already in our order and we have to pay. We didn’t say a word that we are not paying, we just told them to take back the hot pot food so we can have more space on table. I mean, even if she doesn’t understand, why can’t she tell us in a polite way? She doesn’t need to yell. Very disappointed. Never coming back again. Oh btw, they added the 20% tip in the bill. -.- I thought customers can freely decide if they are leaving tip or not. Really made me mad.

If you want to try a small portion of nearly every asian food listable, give fuji a shot. I’ve been here twice so far and can say it is a great place for asian food if you have a big wallet and a bigger stomach. It’s about 20 bucks for the buffet alone(not including drinks) which is a bit pricy so when I come I usually fast all morning/afternoon to get my moneys worth. They have a huge selection of everything from fresh sushi, shellfish, fried items, soup buffet, salad and fruit, savory meats and desserts. Some I enjoyed more than others but with a selection this wide you are bound to find something you like. My one tip is come on a friday or saturday. Yes it will be much busier but as with most buffets busy means they will be rotating fresh food in much more frequently.

Just no. I tried the half shell steamed crab… No. I got the seafood soup, it was great… Until I choked on it. The sezchuan chicken tasted ok, but it made my mouth go numb and it felt funny. The vegetable egg rolls… just ABSOLUTELY no. They were greasy with little to no filling. The green beans… how do you fuck up green beans? YUM! They were good at least. The crab rice… I INSTANTLY spit out into a napkin. Dumplings were yummy! The raw oysters OMGABSOLUTELYNOT!!! Disgusting beyond recognition. The tempura shrimp/veggies were yummy, but a bit less than fresh(oh well… what did I expect from a buffet?) I had decided I was done when my fiancé sat down with a bowl of delicious phở and decided on second thought… I’d love some phở! …until I choked on something in the bowl!(Onions, noodles, broth and seafood, wtf did I choke on that felt like I was trying to swallow a piece of plastic?!)) All in all, this went from a two star review to a four star review because of how management handled the situation! We will be back, but I won’t be eating from the buffet. ***on a side note, my margarita was amazing!

Ate here for Fat Tuesday and it did not disappoint! Their sushi is pretty decent for what you get: think small nigiri pieces and a good selection of rolls with all you can eat spicy sauce, yum! I like their noodle station too; I always get a small bowl of phở(you pick the veggies yourself and select a meat) with a side of their amazing spicy sweet cilantro hot pepper dip! The beef is super tender and fatty, wonderful. For $ 19.99, it’s what you make of it. I’m always happy here because I just eat what I want. Crab legs, noodle soup, some shrimp tempura, a sushi plate and top it off with a sesame black bean donut(jin dui – amazing when hot!!). Love it. Going to bed 5 lbs heavier but sleeping good tonight!

We went for a family meal with my daughter, her husband and their two year old. So we were 5 for dinner. I am not really sure I would call this a Japanese buffet. The staff were speaking Korean and most of the hot food was Chinese-ish. They did have a big Sushi selection, so I guess this is why they would like to be identified as a Japanese buffer, but as a sushi lover that has been to Japan about a hundred times, this was about as Japanese as Benihana. The food itself was edible. It would sustain human life, but not a single dish stood out as great. I wish their was a good Chinese buffet in the area, but they all seem to have faded away.

Love it! After managing an Asian restaurant for nearly 5 years, I’ve become a whore for Asian cuisine, and Fuji Buffet sits atop a very short list of my favorite places to indulge in gluttonous behavior. Let’s start with the Seafood Soup, which is nicely done with large pieces of well cooked tofu, egg whites, carrots, peas and a variety of seafood. Their Hot and Sour Soup is also very nice, again with tofu, mushrooms, bamboo, and more. It’s spiced just right and is perfect to clear my sinuses when crappy Michigan weather dictates I need it. The appetizers are also very good. Spring Rolls, which at most Asian Buffets are cold, and soggy, are crisp and delicious, as are the Wing Dings. They also always have Chicken Feet, Tripe, Steamed Clams in Black Bean Sauce and more — they tend to hit the highlights of your average Dim Sum establishment. And that’s not all. My favorites include the Fried Shrimp, which is spiced to perfection with the entire shell and head kept in tact(which, by the way, you are supposed to eat), Calamari(both BBQ and Fried), Mussels, Clams, Oysters and more! Oh yea, did I mention the 12+ varieties of Sushi? And if you bring a date, order the Volcano, which is a big glass shaped like said volcano filled with booze for two. Listen, if you’ve never been to Fuji, don’t worry about going to a travel agency; rather, go to this restaurant oasis and indulge in one of the greatest Asian Buffets around and tell them Cosimo sent you. They’ll say, «Who?» You’ll say, «Cosimo.» They’ll pretend not to know me. Great fun.
