Got a haircut here, and I’m very pleased with it. Wash, cut, blow dry for $ 35 — more than I was expecting but I’m so pleased with the result. It’s hard for me to find places near me that can cut Asian hair well, so I took advantage of my last day of working in Malden to get it done. Quinn was very friendly. They had many repeat customers come in while I was there, so you know they are quite good.

I love to get my haircuts here. I am very picky about hair and haircuts. I am also picky about any artistic license a hairstylist/​barber may take over my hair. Fortunately, the ladies at Maria’s are really top-​notch. They are so friendly and accommodating. It’s nice to talk with someone and have your hair actually cut well. The prices are good; I get a pretty standard men’s haircut for $ 14. My only gripe is that they are a little disorganized. On a couple of occasions they told me to come in, only to then tell me that they couldn’t see me. I had to go to another place in Malden that totally messed up my hair. Other than that, great place. Please go!

I’ve been a client of Maria for quite many years. I only had a male haircut done there. Every time I feel 10 years younger after my haircut.. Sometimes she uses menthol enriched shampoo which makes you feel all refreshed. Maria works very fast with good results. Thank you!

$ 14 dollars for a haircut. so no complaints about that. Its a small setup but Quinn and Maria are also very nice, they actually remember you and your conversations with them so they’re quite personable. You just let them know what you want and they do their best to accommodate you and they do a very good job.

I have gotten my eyebrows waxed here a few times (about 5 or 6 times?) by both Maria and her assistant. They both do a decent job for the most part, but after the last experience, I stopped going there. At the end of my last appointment there, I was shown the mirror and I noticed that my left eyebrow looked thinner than my right one, and it also hurt a lot more than the right side. I told the assistant of the problem, and she told me to «ask my eyebrow» why one side is thinner than the other side. I never had the problem of uneven eyebrows before and the side that was thinner was hurting A LOT more than the right side… so. what and how should I ask my eyebrows??? I thought the assistant did not take responsibility of the screw up so needless to say, I never went back. Oh, and during the few times I went there, the price of the waxing went up twice. Since it is no longer that good of a deal, I’d rather go somewhere else.

Last Friday, December 10^th, I had a function to go to and decided I needed a new makeover for my hair which was long, straight, and thin. I never liked to use hairstylists because they all told me that the only thing I could do with my hair was to Shag it but this time, I had read reviews about Maria and decided that I would give her a try. I was able to get an appointment the same day. When I arrived, I was greeted with a friendly face and was serviced within 10 minutes. Maria took care of me and when I told her I want it cut short, she had many suggestions which I took heed on because the cut she gave me was not only fabulous but makes me look 10 years (NOT KIDDING) younger. All I get is compliments day in and day out from my friends and co-​workers. I have already recommended many friends to «Maria» and will remain a regular customer.

I’m very satisfied with the eyebrow waxing service here. Not the most glamorous of salons, but the ladies here get the job done. However, the ladies make the waxing HURT. A lot. I have an extremely high pain tolerance, but eyebrow waxing made me tear up a little. FYI, the price for eyebrow waxing went up to $ 10.

Last week I got a full leg wax. I was going for a full leg and a bikini, howeverjust decided to get the full leg.
The person doing the waxing did not feel comfortable at all with the wax. She would dribble little bit of wax here and there. She was not organized. I left with a serious bruise on my upper mid thigh. She did not have the technique down. The cost was $ 50, not too much for this kind of service. The salon is specialized in hair, not waxing. As for waxing, I do not reccommend this place at all.

After reading the amazing reviews, I went to Maria’s — twice. The first time, Maria did a very nice job with my brows and the price cannot be beat. But, sadly, after today I will never go back.
With promises from both Maria (who was double-​booked) and her assistant that the assistant was «great», I reluctantly went with her. After explaining what I wanted — my somewhat thick brows slightly arched (difficult, I admit, but possible), she asked if it was ok to make them «a little thinner.» Sure, «a little thinner is fine.»
But mid-​way through (after a rocky first brow which she approached very hesitantly) she dropped gobs of wax all over my ear and in my hair. I have very long hair, which I even wrapped in a bun under my head before she started. Even after she doused it with oil and whatever other ointments she used, it was still sticky when I left. I cried the whole time, even before I looked in the mirror to see PENCIL THIN brows. So now I’m basically brow-​less, with a sticky mess in my hair and tears running down my face. And the final blow came when they charged me full price and sent me on my way. Sorry loyal patrons, but I’m traumatized and will not be returning to Maria’s.

I used to get my eyebrows waxed in the city, but decided it would be easier to get it done on my lunch break from work in malden. I found this place, and it’s WAY cheaper ($ 7) and my eyebrows came out a lot better. They’re really friendly there too, although very blunt (did you know you have a pimple? or, wow, you look horrible you should have been in earlier). Do not go here for a haircut. It’s tempting, especially when someone does a good job on one thing, to want to give them your business. I tried that and my hair came out bad. Maybe that was a fluke, or maybe theyre better with different types of hair, but who knows. All i know is, go there for your eyebrow waxing!
