Marlene gave me a great cut. She also gave me an appt the same day I called in. She gave me tips on how to best style my new do.
The place itself is on a metered parking street and I had to wait about 15 min b/​c she had another client but no big deal. The place itself is pretty basic and no frills but they give a damn good haircut.

The salon is very expensive considering that the overall level is very mediocre. For the price charged you would expect at least highly trained NYC stylists, multiple stylist assistants, rich interior and website. If that’s what you are looking for-​this place is not for you!
Further more it is CASH only! Saving on taxes and charging sky-​high prices just doesn’t seem right. Here are the prices: partial highlights $ 150 and up; full -$ 220, blowout $ 45 e.t.c. Add 15−20% tips and you will have a clear picture.
Just for the comparison: High-​end Julius Michael Salon at Scarsdale charges $ 140 for the partial highlights.

For most of my adult life I have never been to the same hair stylist more then once. I am not a hair stylist and I have always assumed that I could look to my stylist for professional advice and opinions about what styles would look good with my face and body. I never had any luck with this until I found Cindy’s. She was able to take my wants and needs and design a great haircut that I fell in love with. I have been going there for several years now and would never go anywhere else. Recently I decided I wanted to try something new and she was able to create a brand new look for me. I have never been so happy. I am really trying hard not to look at myself in the mirror constantly.
Also I have only paid 20 – 25 dollars for my haircut’s at Cindy’s. I am not sure if that is considered «very expensive», but it is definitely worth it for me and I would pay double for what she does for me.

I have been going to Cindy’s since it first opened eleven years ago. Cindy is a wonderful hairstylist. She has done many updo’s for me and every time it has been a success! She did my hair for my wedding and it was PERFECT! I have pin straight hair mid back and she made such a pin tight curl just how i wanted it. In all my wedding photos you can see how stunning it came out. Everyone complimented it and it upheld the entire night. On a hot June day and had my hair done at 10 am and finished partying at 2 am the following day without a curl out of place. She is a lovely woman with a clean salon and has always been wonderful. I sincerely recommend her and Deborah as well!
