My husband just came home with the worst hair cut I have ever seen. He is in the military and he needs a simple fade. What he got was no where near a fade and the line that she left from not fading it is not even straight. To make matters worse I asked him why he didn’t say something to her and he tells me that they didn’t even show him the cut in the mirror(I am assuming because she knew how bad it was). Needless to say, do yourself a favor and pay the extra few bucks to go elsewhere!

Came in not expecting much. Still wasn’t happy with the final result. I asked for a clean business cut, with a light fade in the back. The lady who cut my hair took to the clippers and was«done» in about 5 – 10 minutes. no fade at all. I have thicker, somewhat wavy hair, but she did not pay attention to the cowlicks or direction of growth at all, so everything looked completely uneven. I would have asked her to correct it, but I figured I’d be better off just going somewhere else and getting it corrected. If you have short hair, less than an inch maybe this is OK for you. But as a guy who wears his hair at about 1.25″, I need a little more attention to detail. the end result looked really unprofessional. But hey, what can you expect from a hair salon that advertises teeth whitening?

I rarely visit Manchester, but when offered a coupon for 80% off Express Teeth Whitening — $ 149 value for only $ 30 — only at this Fantastic Sams location, I decided to head north for an appointment. This was my first experience having my teeth cosmetically whitened, and the procedure itself was surprisingly clean, quick, and comfortable. An estitician named Erin escorted me to a chair and matched the current«whiteness» of my teeth to a sample set for reference — and in full disclosure, she mentioned the improvement may not be dramatic as my teeth were already quite white. She then prepared a plastic tray with whitening gel, similar to a mouth guard, and I spent the next 20 minutes reading my email over a UV light pointed at my mouth. Afterward, Erin again brought out the sample teeth shades, and showed me that my teeth were now two shades whiter, and only 3 shades away from the absolute top of the whiteness range. While my teeth are, indeed, whiter, there is no way I’d pay the retail value of $ 149.00 for this service again. Also, I had to pay an additional $ 20 for the«Premium» whitening service, which features the UV light — evidently the daily deal didn’t cover this essential part of the procedure. So, for a total of $ 55 including tip, I’d say it was just barely worth the price I paid. In summary, if you’re sporting very stained/yellow teeth and can score the $ 30 coupon, I’d recommend Fantastic Sams for a cosmetic whitening appointment — Erin was lovely, and it’s a nice little salon. If you’ve already got a decent smile, you’d be better off booking a haircut or color here for the greatest value.

As with many chains, staff rotates out, but the ones here are not as inexperienced as what one might find at Supercuts. The franchise owner Judy can really cut hair, but she is rarely in the rotation anymore. Samia was also good, she is gone now(see review for FS Hooksett, I found her!) I have found Nick(a female) to be excellent in cutting both men’s and women’s hair; even better she can color my hair and highlight it at the same time(a necessity for grey), reducing my salon dwell time by half. And let’s not forget, this place is reasonable and they do coupons and multiple visit cards– something like 14 visits is a free haircut– easily achieved for our family of six. update 3÷2012− Nic is gone, place has gone downhill. Owner Judy goes through personnel like Grant went through Richmond.

Once upon a time, this was where i got 90% of my haircuts. Some were excellent, some were sub-par, but none were terrible. As a guy with short hair, really all i’m looking for is to avoid a terrible haircut. A bit more consistency would be nice, but at this particular price point, I’m not going to complain. The stylists were always friendly, professional, and i can’t say i ever waited more than 10 – 15 minutes(usually on a Saturday) Also, if 5 minutes of your time is worth $ 2 – 3 off your next haircut, you can take a survey on a website listed on the receipt.
