Jesse gave me the best fresh cut ever! I wanted heavy bangs with a neo bob and Jesse hooked me up real good. I would highly recommend coming here and requesting Jesse.

I love coming here. Beau is amazing! I’ve been coming here for almost a year and I won’t go anywhere else. Beau can do cuts, color, blow-​dry, and boy can he balayage, he does it all! My color has never looked better. I have to book my appointments way in advance but it’s worth it. Only downside is parking, come early because you may need to look for a parking spot. Other than that, I love it here.

Sommer Penny is my go-​to girl. Colors my hair to perfection. I have stubborn grays and she gets ‘em every time! Her cuts are beautiful too. Karen Galicia – shampoo girl extraordinaire – is her partner in crime. Together they bring beauty back. Bob Roy is a salon that is hopping all the time. Make your appointments early – especially with Sommer coz she books up fast.

I love Beau! I found him on Instagram on Desi Perkins’ page because he does her hair and I noticed he does a really great job on Asians that want to go lighter. It took me months to book an appointment with him but when I finally got one, I was sooooo excited! The first time I came in, I was kind of nervous because I was scared my hair would be really damaged and also because I was wondering what I would talk about for 2 – 3 hours with someone I just met. Once we started he was really nice and informative. He answered any questions or concerns I had about my hair becoming really weak and frizzy and he assured me that my hair was healthy and could handle it. He did such a good job the two times I went in. He really knows what he’s doing. After my first session, my hair was so soft and looked really good for it not being close to done. Unlike some hairdressers, he likes to do multiple sessions if you want to go blond from black (Asian brunette) so your hair doesn’t get too weak. He knows how to make Asian hair blonde and not brassy, which not many people can do. I am looking forward to the final results! If you can get an appointment with him, I definitely recommend him!

Beau is the Bomb!!! He is absolutely the best hairdresser I have found in the South Bay. He is fantastic with color and great with hard to do hair like mine. I highly recommend him for color, cut and styling.

Michelle is great. Shes super nice and friendly and does a great job with my hair. Its really hard to find a stylist that does a great job with men’s hair and I’m so thankful that I found her and shes so talented.

Amanda Bauer and Sommer Penny are the best EVER! They both have done an amazing job with my hair. I have a lot of hair and in the past struggled with finding someone who knew how to make my hair look great. When I leave Bob Roy I always get compliments. Amanda and Sommer are hair color experts and can do anything from dramatic color change to simple highlights and touches. They also give great cuts and style. Bob Roy salon has a family touch with a stylist atmosphere.

My husband and I walked in this morning for a trim and enjoyed every minute! Awesome stylists and atmosphere.

I’ve been in to see TAMMY AMES and she’s absolutely AMAZING! She’s so upbeat and positive, makes getting your hair done a whole experience which is something I truly value. She makes me feel like part of the family and right at home while I’m there :)

David is your man if you’re a female looking for a great hairdresser for short hair. He does such a fantastic job that I keep getting compliments on my short hair months after he’s cut it — it grows out that well. He navigated brain surgery scars and a bald spot and cut my hair so that neither of these things are visible.

I love this place. It’s a tucked away gem, with a relaxed beach town vibe. I just always feel relaxed there. I followed my stylist, Becky Bailey, from another salon, and I’m glad I did. It’s always a treat coming to see her and I get compliments on my hair all the time. Seriously, all the time. It’s short and curly, and looks awesome without a lot of fuss, thanks to Becky! Xoxo

This review is specifically for Chelsea. She has been our family hairdresser for the past 6 years and I’m saddened that we have moved too far away from her. She has endured the ever changing styles of a family of 4 and has been able to accommodate all requests and make us all look good.

The only down side is finding parking in this area (we lived closed enough that we could just walk in the summer; when parking is at its worst). Also, if someone isn’t manning the front desk, it can be difficult to make an appointment. But, NONE of that detracts from Chelsea’s ability or friendly demeanor.

At the risk of being completely superficial. .. not a lot is as scary as losing your long time hair stylist. Reading over the Unilocal reviews for a salon in my area, came across Bob Roy and decided to try it out. When offered the services of Sommer, I was a bit concerned as there was only one Unilocal review specifically about her from 2011.
Why the heck not !!! Sommer is great ! Took my damaged, too colored, Brazilian blow out head of hair and made me look fabulous !! Walked out of the salon in two hours, with a beautiful color, highlights and cut. They even put money in the meter for me. Great experience. Let me be the first for 2015. ..
