What’s not to like. Great food, great prices and great service. Normally get dinner there which is a nice surprise for local north end eatery. No crazy bar scene and very relaxed atmosphere so you can have a family dinner without breaking the wallet. Don’t forget to try the bread pudding.

Very nice experience in Manhattan Beach, great service and solid food options. We had the fish tacos and pork chops. Great place if you are looking for a casual and chill beach town experience!

Good portions. The longboard burrito was very good maybe a little watery. Their salsa/picante sauce was awesome.

I had the 4DK burger, which was delicious and plenty of food. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming. We also got the fried shrimp boat which was delicious. My friend chose the chicken salad sandwich and thought it was the best she’d ever had! I would definitely come back here to try their breakfast and use their free wifi :) Don’t sit by the window its too cold.

I like to stress free environment you had a busy and productive. They just made my 5 star passing because I almost gave it 4 stars because the potatoes are dry and flavor list. Yet the bacon had me at hello and the healthy omelette with broccoli spinach an avocado omelette was amazing. Ican have this one had me wanting more. This is a fun mom and pop restaurants when the people sit next to you and we’re all become instant family I will definitely come back if anything but a damn bacon

Stopped in here for a late lunch one afternoon and had mixed feelings about this place. The place is pretty filthy. Sticky tables, lots of nats and flies in the dining room, and a dirty menu. I was horrified when I used the bathroom to wash my hands. Overflowing garbage, filthy poop splattered toilet, and just smelly and dingy overall. Clearly no one here feels like cleaning. There were lots of staff all sitting around doing nothing, apparently no one notices how dirty the place is. And two staff members used that rancid bathroom while we were there and did nothing. So clearly this is acceptable. Im scared to think what the kitchen looks like. Service was not good either. Server didn’t know much about the menu items. I asked a few questions and was just told«I havent tried that, I dont know.» Server never checked back once we got our food to see how things were. And our drinks never got refilled after they were dropped off. We wanted desert but the check was just dropped off before we could even ask about ordering more food. I give 3 stars because the food was actually quite good. I was however a bit nervous to eat it because of the cleanliness issues. But I was starving so I ate it and I enjoyed it!

I went with a group of 4 on a Sunday at 11am for brunch. Parking was a breeze and we were seated immediately. The staff were friendly and efficient. The true star if our meal was the scramble. I tried the sausage scramble(with the maple-sage cream sauce) and the others in my group did custom scrambles. We were all thrilled with the flavors and size of the scrambles. I was curious about having a cream sauce on my eggs, but the marble really complimented the sausage and it just added a little something extra to the scramble. This place is perfect for groups and for enjoying a delicious and healthy brunch. The casual, relaxed atmosphere of Manhattan Beach was reflected inside the restaurant and made for the perfect Sunday brunch location.

Loveeeeed the el Porto scramble! So delicious and creamy! The potatoes at the bottom were probably my fav part along with the veggies. I’ve never had asparagus in a scramble so I was worried, but they cut it in such small pieces it’s actually nice to have the crunch! I recommend asking for some salsa if you like a little more heat :) I also got the chai tea latte with almond milk, which was absolutely divine! The waiter was super sweet as well so that was nice :) we’ll be back!

Not sure what is going on at 4 Daughters. Looks like they are cutting corners getting rid of the staff that made it great and taking away all my favorite menu items. The awesome chalkboard that showcase all the beer and wine and wifi code is gone. Why change a perfect thing. Very sad. I need to find a new go to breakfast place.

The family and I decided to sleep in and have breakfast delivered. What a bright idea! We decided on Four Daughters as a first choice. My steak was awesomely tender to have been delivered. Usually steak that comes from the store usually arrive like leather. This isn’t so for my steak. Great job! My eggs were more leather like and I had to peel away at a lot of it but the yolk was great. It wasn’t a good idea to put the steak and eggs on top of the toast because it soaked the bread but the fact that real butter was used is the only think I liked about the toast. We had six orders of bacon and they were the crispiest yet tender pieces of bacon ever. Great job with that! My two sisters really enjoyed their breakfast tacos. There wasn’t a single one left. I didn’t get to taste any. That says a lot. Our biggest issue lay in the pancakes we ordered for the children. They are all burnt. The kids were very disappointed. They were looking forward to the pancakes which most children are. Neither one of them finished their pancakes. Not good! So overall the meat products were stupendous but the eggs and floured products were less desirable. It was a disappointment to experience something that everyone is raving about. We may visit again soon but only if we can get better pancakes and toast.

See the rest of my full review Yummy, my dish came in a large bowl much like the design of the coffee mug. I was surprised that the potatoes were mixed in! I was expecting a scramble with the eggs on one side and the potatoes on the other. The first taste I noticed was the chipotle flavor slight but smoky and the gruyère cheese melty and delicious. Gruyère is a creamy cheese that blends all the spices together, with generous amounts of artichokes and flavorful sundries tomatoes complimented the dish marvelously. After examination, I discovered that the potatoes were the base of the scramble, salty and crispy with sweet caramelized onions. The pancetta was served in small bits with a highly salty flavor, just enough not too overpower the dish. My Review Unique breakfast place, ambiance good local flair, no view of the ocean although I’m heading out that way next.

TLDR: If you have a pancake craving, this is the place for huge, fluffy, delicious pancakes. AMBIENCE: Crowded breakfast spot, but the good food and warm service made it feel cozy. You can see the beach from the outside waiting area, so you can watch the surfers while waiting for a seat. DRESSCODE: Any casual or beach-y brunch outfit works, no need to get too dressy. FOOD: The chorizo scramble was nothing to write home about, but the pancakes were perfect. I think the picture is pretty self-explanatory…I’ll definitely be back for more pancakes; the rest of the brunch selection seems pretty standard. SERVICE: My waitress was friendly and brought lots of extra syrup for the pancakes once she saw that we had finished the container haha. She also offered to split the scramble for us, insisting that it was super easy. It was very busy on a Saturday morning(25 min wait for two, was asked to share the table), but the staff still took the time to be considerate. PARKING: is a nightmare, good luck finding street parking. In all honesty, this is probably the biggest deterrent from coming back.

This place never disappoints. From the moment you walk in you feat a good welcome, pick a table, and let us know when your ready to order. There menu is awesome and have yet to try something that is not good. For drinks we got the dirty chai lattes which unlike normal ones that have tons of syrup this ones are sweeten up with honey. Just the perfect combo of the chai with a hint of espresso. I ordered mine not too sweet and came out perfect! For breakfast we each had the El Porto, one of their breakfast bowls with 3 eggs, Gruyère cheese, artichokes hearts, asparagus, sundried tomatoes and green onion. So so good definitely a regular here

I took my mom here for a birthday brunch. I’m on a quest to find a go-to brunch spot, and after dining here, the search goes on. We both ordered a combo. I got 2 scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, and white toast, she got 2 scrambled, bacon, potatoes and wheat toast. This is one of the cheaper items on the menu, but failed to impress either of us. Though the meal was tasty and fresh, there was nothing amazing about it for the price. I was pleased with the portion of eggs — seemed like 3, not 2. I added an OJ, and my mom a decaf latte. Close to $ 30 total out the door. My biggest gripe on this place would be that they just cram a few too many people in. I know they want to maximize business and minimize wait times(the two of us only had to wait 5 – 10 minutes to be seated on a Saturday at peak brunch time) but we wound up at a 4-top with 2 not-so-friendly strangers. I don’t mind sharing, but I wanted to celebrate my mom’s birthday with her, not her and 2 strangers. Not so fun when you have to keep moving for the strangers seated at the inner two seats to go back and forth to the restroom, and for the waitress and bus boy to get by. Service was pretty meh. Our waitress was not very friendly and made us wait a while to get the check. Overall, good quality food, but a bit overpriced and not a very homey or relaxing dining experience. The ocean view is nice, but there are several other brunch options within a few steps so if the wait is long, it’s not quite worth it.

After bailing on REI’s Garage Sale(the lines were INSANE at 8am), the bf and I were at loose ends so we decided to just go have breakfast somewhere. The Unilocal app pointed us to a bunch of different places on Highland and it was down to this place and the North End Café next door. Upon perusing their menus this place’s offerings sounded better so we decided to check them out. It’s a cute homey place, with well-worn wooden furniture and chalkboards everywhere – there’s a cute pic of the owner with his four daughters on the wall. The menu isn’t very large or complicated: all your basic breakfast favorites with their own particular spin. I got the Spice It Up Scramble(their special chorizo blend, spicy tomatillo) and a coffee and the bf got the Bruschetta Scramble. We enjoyed the food – very tasty. My spicy scramble wasn’t quite spicy enough for me though so I asked for Tapatio but they’re Cholula and Tobasco only, alas. The coffee was also kind of meh but at least when I asked for a warm up toward the end they asked if I’d like it in a go cup, which I thought was a nice touch. All in all, a nice cozy place for breakfast; we’re glad to have found it! STEPHJUDGEMENT: Friendly, homey breakfast joint in Manhattan Beach.

Yum! I went here with the boo and a couple of good friends who were in town. We found this place on Unilocal when we were looking for brunch spots. The only concern was parking because the Beach city parking struggle is so real. Luckily, we found a spot pretty quickly in a lot a block down and our friends found metered parking down the street. It was a surprisingly short wait for the crowd that was there. I got the iced chai and spicy scramble. The boo got the big daddy burger and a beer. The chai was yum. The spicy scramble was delicious and not spicy. It had crisp homefries on the bottom and the chorizo eggs were tasty. We asked for some help in the spicy department with some cholula. The big daddy burger looked filling… I didn’t get any. Pft. Delicious! Will we be back? Maybe when we feel like braving traffic and parking.

Love love love this spot. Right by the sand. Went here for brunch on a hot Sunday afternoon. Blazing jamazzing! Staff was on point. Food was delish. Walked right down to the beach after to burn off the 7K calories I put on from the 4DK tacos and mimosas!!! Yummo! Happy eats!

Seven of us were looking for breakfast around lunch time near Manhattan Beach and Unilocal directed us to 4DK. Excited about the breakfast until 4 pm and pancakes and french toast until 1:30 pm, we ventured there to give this place a try. Overall, the food was good, but there was certainly nothing outstanding or too inventive there that we couldn’t have made at home. Our group ordered a combination of breakfast and lunch. The breakfast dishes included a couple of different types of pancakes, french toast, and scrambles. I split orders of the chocolate chip pancakes, french toast, and bruschetta scramble. Anticipating amazing pancakes based on the menu which declares that they’ve won«best awards», I was underwhelmed by them. They were too thick for my liking, necessitating a sip of liquid after each bite. The scramble was unseasoned(not underseasoned), which made for a lackluster meal. A little salt and pepper would’ve gone a long way. It means something for me to say that the french toast was the best of the three dishes that I split because I am not a french toast lover. But 4DK’s version was light and not soggy or eggy. Service, unfortunately, wasn’t very good either. After taking our orders and getting the food to the table, we didn’t see our server again, despite the fact that there were very few people in the restaurant at the time. We ended up having to get up and get a spoon from the server station and while we wanted drink refills and a glass of juice, that never happened. This isn’t a destination type of restaurant. If you’re at the beach and hungry, it’s probably a good stop. But from what I tried and observed, it wouldn’t be the type of place that would take me from the west side to MB again.
