I had the WORST experience at this establishment and will NOT be returning. Last night after taking my laundry out of the dryer, I noticed that one of my white towels was COVERED in rust. I don’t mean a little stain here or there, the entire side of the towel was full of rust. After further inspecting my other items, I noticed that it was on my sheets, comforter, and another towel. I immediately took my items to the desk and asked if I could at least be refunded for my wash and dry. She very rudely refused and became very aggressive and defensive. After 5 minutes of her either ignoring me or yelling at me, I finally gave up and left. I had to buy two new towels, new sheets, and a new comforter today because of Green Laundromat and they wouldn’t even refund me for the wash and dry that RUINEDTHEM. Save your clothes from this horrible place!

My regular laundromat was closed, so I figured I would give this place a try. How bad could it be? The answer: VERYBAD. As expected, most of the machines were taken when I walked in on a Sunday afternoon), but I managed to track down two washers and toss in my clothes. As soon as the machines locked, I heard two women screaming at each other from the other side of the laundromat. Apparently one woman had removed the other woman’s clothes from the washer in order to use the machine. This wasn’t your typical laundry-related disagreement; it was a profanity-laden tirade that appeared to be escalating to physical violence. They were so loud that the fight attracted the attention of all 30 customers in the store, despite the noise of the machines. Normally, I wouldn’t hold a business responsible for the bad behavior of a few customers. However, this altercation lasted for 15 minutes. There were at least a dozen young children in the store. And the employees did ABSOLUTELYNOTHING. The entire time, I melted into a corner, pretending to be anywhere else, holding my phone in front of me in case it turned physical and I needed to call the police. The place was also filthy. The floor was covered in dirt, hair, and gum. The final straw: while I was waiting for my laundry to finish, a god-awful stench floated over. A woman was changing her baby’s diaper directly on top of the folder tables… you know, the tables people use to fold their freshly-cleaned laundry. I’ve used many laundromats in this neighborhood and I like to think that my expectations are reasonable: 1) clean my laundry in an environment that won’t render it immediately dirty, and 2) wait for my laundry to finish without worrying about my personal safety or the safety of other people. This laundromat failed on both counts.

I keep going here because I haven’t found a replacement in a reasonable distance yet. I drop off my clothing and i’m having trouble remembering the last time something DIDNT go wrong. They’ve lost clothes, not finished loads even over 48 hours after drop off, and while unwrapping this last load, I just found one of my shirts with bleach all over the back. Like other people have said, they don’t speak english, and they don’t care if they ruin your clothes, or something goes missing. My issues with them go back to october 2010 when i first moved to the city. they ripped every handle and strap off my brand new laundry bag within the first four times i went. tried to ask them about it, they pretended they couldn’t figure out what i was talking about. my roommate spoke with them and summed up the conversation as «they don’t know what happened» find another place to go. edit/update: I found Jorge’s Laundromat just a half block in the other direction. As good if not better, negligibly cheaper, and just as friendly(not in particular).

$ 2.25/$ 3.25/$ 4.25/$ 6.00(HUGE!) Dryers $ 0.25÷7 min Drop off is $ 0.75/lb regular, $ 0.85/lb kids & baby Decently large laundromat w/decent prices. Over 30 dryers. You might have to wait a few minutes if you come at peak times during the weekend, but not too long. The sign says they are open 24 hrs, but I’ve never been that late, so I can’t personally vouch for it. Several benches to sit on, which is nice. Machines are coin operated, there’s a dispenser that will munch your dollars and regurgitate quarters for your washing pleasure.

Here’s why I dig this place and keep coming back: — Tons of washers, 3 sizes: S($ 1.75), M($ 3) and L($ 4.25)! — Tons of dryers, $ 0.25÷7 min(standard in the neighbourhood), but they actually work and dry properly!(not standard) — Decent # of places to sit down, so I can actually be productive while I’m doing laundry! — Doesn’t smell like kitty litter/urine/death!(just don’t use the bathroom) — I usually come on weekday evenings, but I’ve never had to wait for anything! It’s my go-to place for laundry and I’ve tried 2 others in the neighbourbood. Drop off is $ 0.75/lb, but don’t expect to get it same day(I’d actually recommend the place on 149th& Broadway for that).

Fairly large laundromat with plenty of machines. and plenty of customers. Everything is peachy if you’re doing laundry during off-peak hours-but don’t expect to find small or medium washers on a Saturday or Sunday; consider yourself lucky if you don’t have to wait for a dryer, either. I would give this location a higher rating, but I’m still annoyed by my last visit there. I went to the bodega next door to grab a drink, and when I came back, someone had stolen a load of whites I had in the dryer. Whoever was there tending to the machines couldn’t care less about the theft(she actually didn’t understand English either, so that didn’t help). Lesson learned. I hope whoever has my laundry is enjoying the work uniforms I had to replace.
