T2 is for those who are ready to graduate from spin class to take on the the challenge and learn the technique of real cycling. Clients either store or bring their own bikes or rent one of T2’s fleet of Specialized bikes in workouts that connect the bike to a computer. You’ll feel the elevation of real bike courses, learn the finer points of how and when to shift gears, develop real technique and get the serious fitness results in your aerobic capacity, core, and more. Classes are coached and open to all levels. Workouts are based on your unique power — or wattage number. The more Alpha riders can compete against others in the room, but many just focus on their unique progress and results. Studio has a clubhouse feel and is a second home to many fitness enthusiasts, cyclists and triathletes-in-training. It’s welcoming and open to any/all levels!

Instead of taking a spin class, consider trying a T2 class with a real bike, but stationary. I joined Terrier Tri since I’m training for my first triathlon and we do weekly/bi-weekly workouts here at T2. It’s $ 5 to rent a bike if you don’t want to bring yours. You can wear sneakers, or bring cycling shoes with clips. They provide towels and you can fill up your water bottle here, and they even have cubbies to put your stuff when you’re working out. The space isn’t huge, but it’s well ventilated(with fans and large windows) so when you start sweating(and you will be) it’s not unbearable. I believe there’s a max of 12 – 18 individuals per class, all lined up when you enter the space. Your bike is hooked up to the screens and everyone can see how fast you’re going, your RPMs, watts, etc. The coach has a microphone and instructs you what’s expected and there is an additional screen that shows where your 100% — 120% effort level is. You may be thinking this is intense — it is. There are many ironman triathletes that workout here, so people can be intimidating. Still try it though! Especially if you think other spin classes aren’t cutting it.
