The host was extremely accommodating to our group of five, even though we only made a reservation the day of our arrival. We arrived very late at night when the office was already closed, but they still made arrangements to get the room key to us. Simple, clean, affordable, and great location for a trip to the Outer Banks. Our unit consisted of two rooms including an efficiency kitchen, TV, and couches. They have complimentary coffee in the office as well, which is a plus.

I am torn between a 3 and 4 star rating at this place. The reason is: I really like it. I am extremely comfortable here. My husband has a work trip so we stayed here. We got a king bed in a room upstairs. It actually also has a little twin bed in it and a nice sized bathroom with a shower no tub. There are two decent windows in my room which are important for letting in natural light. What I like most about this place is that it is really really clean. It was much cleaner than many hotels I stayed in. The only downside I see is that it has old TV in the rooms but that doesn’t matter to me too much. The staff were very nice and helpful. Also, I always Travel with my own pillow and soft blanket because, as is the case with this place, hotel sheets and comforters aren’t always soft. The bed wasn’t super comfortable or uncomfortable, it was kinda normal. We would stay here again for sure. Also, there weren’t many people which was nice because our upstairs room has two very close neighbors and I don’t know how loud it would be if people were staying on them. It may be a different experience in peak season but I’ll take my chances and come back.

I’m usually very leery about these types of places-it’s like a bed-and-breakfast type place… well, the room we stayed in was. It was just above the office. We had our own bathroom, which was spotless and updated! Not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere in the room! It was small, but it was comfortable and the bedding was very comfy and the room was actually pretty cute. In my opinion, cleanliness is the most important thing.

I have never seen a more disgusting motel in my life, and I travel very often, mostly at my own expense. As soon as I walked in the overwhelming stench of cigarettes from the people living in the next room, mixed with a hint of urine stopped us in our tracks. There were insects on the walls, flying by us. The bathroom was just deplorable and decrepit, broken fixtures and towel rack. Rusty drain, water damaged bowed walls, and the floors were absolutely covered in unidentifiable stains, and filth. I am shocked and feel completely mislead and used by the staff. We spent a total of 10 minutes in that room(one which was completely different from the one we actually booked) trying to bear it before leaving in complete disgust, and of course did not get our money back. This place is deplorable and we would never recommend it. Horrible.

I booked a room for two nights very last minute. We had a upstairs room at the motel. It was clean, spacious & beds were pretty comfy. I really look forward to renting the«endless summer» cottage next go round. The cost was very reasonable considering the outdated motel down the street was twice the price for each night. Grahm was friendly & gave us some good pointers for food & beach access. He also showed us some of the other options when we could return that would work better with the kiddos. We loved the awesome front porch swings & the cute tiki bar area in the back. We rented bikes & a baby cart from Roanoke Island Outfitters down the street & got some good exercise in. All in all, a great weekend trip.

This is a motel, and a house that has rooms upstairs. It was extremely clean, neat, and tidy. The towels smelled really good as well. Just a short drive over the bridge to the mmain areas of ‘outerbanks’ including beaches, restaurants, etc. The best part is the price; we paid $ 100/night, which is a steal for the outerbanks, and this was labor day weekend. DJ who manages the place, is extremely nice and helped us so much during our stay. Very close to the beach as well.

My husband and I came here for our first year anniversary. We had never been to the outerbanks, but living outside Baltimore we knew it was a hot vacation spot for Marylanders. Some things to know about this hotel: 1. For those that don’t know this hotel is in Manteo which is actually slightly west of what is considered the«outer banks.» 2. There is no public beach access you have to cross the bridge going east and go to Nags Head to the nearest beach. 3. There is a super cute downtown area where they hold festivals and stuff. 4. The hotel itself was pretty great! The cottages have been totally redone and have granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and the most luxurious tub/shower situation. It’s a huge tub with jets and a big shower head hanging over the middle. 5. There is no dishwasher! So be prepared to wash your own dishes :) 6. Everything was clean and lovely but when we got there we had the dregs of the end of a roll of toilet paper and the roll of paper towel was almost out… I figured they’d at least renew that since the last person. 7. The AC worked GREAT we were able to freeze ourselves which we love :) 8. The room came with a fireplace, tv, dvd player, radio, etc. It was great b/c we could rent movies from the redbox in the local grocery store and watch them in the room with a fire going! 9. When we got there there was a nice basket of wine, popcorn, candy, shower gel and some other goodies awaiting us in a basket. Overall we had a great time in the OBX and will probably be back!
