Another one of those upstart, quickfire assembly line pizza places that’s popping up everywhere. It seems every time I come to Maple Grove more and more shops are popping up, I had never actually been to «Main Street» previously, but man, it’s a awesome, clean, modern little downtownish area where everything is impeccably clean and well designed with a modern flair. Pieology certainly fits the«hip» mold with it’s simplistic décor and seating and a very bright and spacious interior. The gal taking my order asked if I had been there before and offered to give me the rundown, quite politely. I declined since I know I loves me a cheese pizza and was going to try whatever their breadstickyesque offering was. So, I did. The«buttery herb strips» I think they were called, were alright. I think something was just a bit off about them though. They were a bit too«crunchy» perhaps, or maybe just were lacking a bit more of a soft element either in the bake style or in the toppings. The pizza itself was pretty good. The crust was THIN, which I’m not usually a fan of, but it seemed still to be a bit airy, which was nice. The sauce was absolutely on point. Just the peak of freshness and a great level of sweetness in every bite. The cheese was über fresh as well. Overall, I wish the cheese was darkened a bit more while baking… perhaps switch up the pizza and side baking times… The prices were pretty nice as well, for the pizza being only $ 7.95, but being a «10.5 inch» pie, as opposed to the usual 9 inch pie most of these assembly style places serve. The bread side was only a few bucks as well. A nice quick pizza option that does a lot well. Would recommend.

I had to go gluten free and dairy free recently. This does not bode well for a pizza craving. However, I read they had gluten free and figured I’d check it out. Strangely it was amazing! Even my boyfriend loved mine. They have great choices to pick from to put on your pizza and comes out delicious. I give it 4 because I’m very picky when I comes to 5 stars, but this was great.

Went to Pieology for the first time with a coworker. Me and my coworker got the build your own pizza. It was delicious. I paid only 7 – 8 dollars. Will be back again. ^___^

I love the chicken Alfredo pizza on white crust. I’ve tried making my own combination here with all of their sauces and toppings but they really nailed it with this recipe. The wait is never too long, the crust and cheeses are cooked to perfection and it’s extremely affordable.

Soooo gooood. The red sauce has a great flavor, pizzas come out quick and they are a great single serve size. Sign up online before going in and they email a coupon for free cinnamon sticks.

Thanks to the Pieology management, they sent me a free pizza coupon. I ordered a regular pizza with tomato sauce, cheese and sausage. Also, I asked them to make it a little more crispy. The pizza was much improved. However I think the sauce could use a ‘kick up’ — fairly bland — would be a good place to take children.

Pizza in Minnesota is a tough thing to rate fairly because there are SO many great pizza options and Minnesotans have no idea how lucky they are to have so many! I’m from San diego – where you can get amazing authentic Mexican and Italian but great Pizza – strangely enough is extremely hard to come by. The concept of subway-style build-your-own pizzas at an affordable price like Pieology is somewhat common-place in San diego. That said, I think Pieology Pizza wins for best taste out of all the other build-your-owns I’ve tried so far! I Love their crust! I love that you get to choose how much or how little of Everything that goes on the pizza! I love the gluten free crust option! I love how fast it goes from the assembly line to the fire brick oven to my belly! And have I mentioned the price? It’s crazy cheap — like $ 7.95 for all the toppings you want! Any other place will charge you much more just for a cheese pizza and then tell you they want $ 2 more per additional topping! If you don’t like the taste of it, you’ve probably made poor ingredient choices of your own. Yes, it’s super tempting to overload on the toppings when you are hungry, Everything sounds good and it’s all you want of everything – but refrain and think it through. Will extra garlic, banana peppers and buffalo chicken Really taste as well together with all those extra pineapple chunks like your tummy is telling you? Probably not so much. I find it helpful to not add too many watery veggies like tomatoes, pineapple and peppers –since most of that can settle in the crust and makes it soggier than I like. Also, I love that they have those perfectly sized to-go boxes that fit nearly exactly what I always end up with when I’m full. Bottom line, it’s a quick, cheap, tasty, no tipping required, totally kid friendly pizza option that I go to when I want it fast and easy… and now that I’ve been thinking about it so much… I kinda want one right now. :)

So, I missed the Unilocal event here, and generally drive right by on my way to 3 Squares. Finally had a craving for some pie this weekend, and figured I might as well give this a chance. I can’t remember what I got on my pizza, it amounted to almost everything. I’m a fan of the assembly line kind of thing. Made the ordering pretty easy, and I didn’t feel uneasy or rushed like I sometimes do at Punch where things aren’t as well laid out for you to see and order. The pie itself was solid. But, even bad pizza to me is tolerable. I’d give it around a 4 – 6 for taste. Thought the chicken tasted a little funky. Not quite like grilled chicken, but more like they«tried» too hard to make it taste like grilled chicken. Cheeses were good, veggies were good, and the basil pesto sauce with bbq sauce was not bad at all. Crust was a bit on the meh side. It had great texture, but, taste wise? Lacking and fundamentally void of flavor would be more like it. We did not find an open, clean table, but asked a fella behind the counter for a towel and he promptly stepped out and wiped down a few places. All in all, quick pizza fix? Yup. Is it good pizza? Depends on your grading scale for pizza. I give it an OK.

My son and I were in Maple Grove today and thought that we would try Pieology out. Unfortunately, when we arrived at 11:21am the doors were still locked even though the hours posted are 11am to 11pm. Needless to say my pizza loving son was quite discouraged and we went across the street to Punch Pizza where we should have gone to begin with. Little things like this really do go a long way towards building or discouraging a customers opinion of an establishment regardless of circumstances. While the product may be sensational, the lack of customer service more than offsets that fact. In our case we weren’t even able to have the opportunity to find out if the product is worthy of another visit. *Update 12÷4÷15 Melissa from the restaurant contacted me about the misunderstanding, and sent my son two free pizza vouchers. I must say that I am definitely impressed with their customer relations, and cannot wait to stop by again!

I finally got the opportunity to try Pieology with my beloved. Here’s what I liked and what I didn’t. We both liked being able to choose fresh ingredients to create our own personal pizzas. My wife chose an alfredo sauce pizza on regular dough. I chose a red sauce pizza on regular dough with red onions, green peppers, sausage, pepperoni, basil, banana peppers, mozzarella and parmesan cheese. The menu is straightforward. At $ 7.95 you can create any pizza you want with as many toppings as you like. The tendency would be to load the pizza down, but I wouldn’t do that. Too many toppings and it makes for a soggier crust. I would aim for four ingredients, five at the most. They offer a regular, wheat, or gluten free crust($ 2 more). The dough is pressed down with a pressing machine(similar to what Panchero’s uses for making fresh tortillas). It creates a very thin, cracker-like, flat-bread style crust that’s brought to blackened perfection in the pizza oven. While I liked the thin and crispy crust, I’m more a fan of a hand-tossed dough that bubbles and blisters, like you find at Red Rossa or Punch. Before the sauce is placed on the pizza you’re given a choice to have olive oil or herb butter brushed on the crust. I chose the herb butter. Once the sauce was on it, you couldn’t really taste it, except perhaps on the edge. The ingredients seemed fresh enough(though I avoided the sliced tomatoes; they looked as if they had been sitting there awhile). I wish that sun-dried tomatoes would have been offered as a topping. That would have been perfection. The pizza arrived in a short while, and I enjoyed the crispiness of the crust(while it lasted), the flavor, the fresh toppings. The sauce had a robust tomato flavor. I would have preferred a bit more cheese. Personally, I didn’t care for the sausage, but I’m particular when it comes to Italian sausage. Also, after eating about three pieces, I noticed that my crust was starting to get soggy and limp. By the time I had eaten half my pie, the crust in the center wasn’t holding up. It was still tasty, it just didn’t maintain the same crisp it had when it was first brought to the table. The restaurant takes after Chipotle both in concept and in its minimalist style/décor. It makes for a cold, loud restaurant — stone floors, aluminum metal chairs, wooden tables. There is nothing in the restaurant to absorb sound, so it bounces off all of the hard surfaces and makes for a loud space. Although this restaurant hasn’t been open long, the paint is coming off the walls already. They used a flat paint, where they should have used glossy. It would have held up much better. If you can’t eat your whole pie(not a problem for me), the restaurant offers these small half-boxes so you can take your leftovers home. All in all, I like the concept. Would I return? Yes, I would if I were in the mood.

I must admit that I like the St. Paul location more(I got the exact same pizza at both) but this is still pretty dang impressive. My major beef is that the crust was all pre-cooked. Boo. Moving on, lots and lots of toppings available. You go through the line(like at Subway). Pick your sauce(I highly recommend the pesto), pick your cheese, veggies, and meats. Then Bam, they brick-oven it for you. And they certainly do not skimp on the toppings. Gluten free crust is only $ 2 more. I know I’m probably the only person in the world who cares about this, but they have these adorable little half-boxes available for leftovers!

The problem I have with this type of Pizza Place is that the veggies never cook through in the short time it takes to cook the pizza. This was not the case. I really enjoyed the food and it was very filling.

This place is just amazing what a great idea I believe a football player is invested in this place(FYI). Seriously a build your own pizza that for the quality is way above the price in which you pay. Now this play only does a very thin crust so if you don’t like thin crust this may not be the place for you. I recommend the build your own pizza because they will let you put on what ever you want. Just don’t go to crazy once I put too much on and the ingredients didn’t compliment themselves to well. Also the buffalo pizza is very good if you like spicy. So what’s the pros? Pretty fast service, 8 $ for a fully customized pizza, new place and a great quality for the price.

Quick, pretty tasty, great value and really good staff. I’ve been here three times and think this place is perfect if you need a fast, cheap pizza which is what I’m looking for when heading out of the town on 94. A 30 minute detour off the interstate and I can get a made to order pizza and drink for under $ 15. Perfect. No, this isn’t a pie that’s going to make my Top 10 Pizza list but for the money its pretty damn good — especially since you get to pick the exact toppings and the exact quantities that you want. Best of all — every time I’ve been there the staff has been amazing. Friendly, helpful and efficient.

If you want a custom-made pie with unlimited toppings substantive enough to feed two for around 8 bucks, this is the chain for you! This is a «Chipotle-style» walk-through-the-assembly-line-we-make-it-right-in-front-of-you type of restaurant. And it’s actually kind of fun, and the combination of available toppings you can put on a pizza here is vastly more than what’s available at Chipotle. Seriously, if you get a pie with a handful of toppings you can easily split it between two people for a light lunch. On the other hand, don’t expect gourmet pizza. The crust is probably made from frozen dough and more toppings doesn’t translate to a better pizza(which is a tempting thing to do!). I have had much worse pizza at a place in southwest Minneapolis where they charge you $ 17 + tax + tip for a comparatively inferior pie. Pieology offers a deal that can’t be easily beaten.

First pizza was waaaaay overdone… and it was the shift manager who brought it out to me. They gave me a second but I had been waiting a total of 40 minutes by the time that came out, even though there was never more than 4 people in line. The second pie had entirely different amounts of ingredients on it than the first(I didn’t give any direction regarding quantity on the first one). While getting a refill on my water I noticed that no 2 pizzas had the same doneness… all different. They also tongue-lashed an employee in the seating area just 10′ from me. Realistically if I could give it less than one star, I would.

La la la, Mona mi, pizzzzzaaaaa! Since Pizza Lola came into my life I have a new found appreciation for pizza. Pieology Pizza is like Chipotle of pizzas, but does it measure up. Thumbs up: –Prices, you won’t have to shell out too much dough to get some dough here –Made in front of you, made fresh to order you could say –Decent C.S. –Clean and new place –Decent pizza not the best, not the worst. If you’re looking for a bang for your buck, fast pizza joint here it is. Better then Little Caesar or $ 5 pizza, but can’t hold a flame to Lola or Jets. It’s a kind of in between place. –Plenty of parking –Multiple locations Thumbs down: –Doesn’t live up to the hype –The salads are pre made, boxed up. Will come back for some fast decent pizza, but won’t go out of my way for it.

My first experience with Pieology was a good one. My wife and I stopped in tonight to check it out and came away pretty impressed with Maple Grove’s newest food joint. The premise is simple; order as many cheeses, meats, and toppings as you want with your choice of sauce and you get it all on an 11″ pie for $ 7.95. I think it’s a great price point for a decent sized made-to-order pizza. Think of it as Subway for pizza. The possibilities are endless!(Perhaps not literally, mathematically speaking, but you get the point.) You walk up to the counter, select your sauce, choose your cheese, make your picks for toppings and meat, and they load your custom creation into the open oven as you watch and wait for your fresh grilled pie to finish. It takes approximately 5 minutes, which is ridiculously fast. As we waited, the manager came over to thank us for visiting and let us know that they will soon be getting a license to serve beer and wine, and that they will have a patio out front come warmer weather. We took our pizzas to go since we had hungry dogs at home waiting for their own non-pizza dinners, and they loaded up our boxes with a nice bag that keeps the pizzas upright. Great idea that I’ve never seen at any other pizza places. Get to the point, right?! Ok. The pizza was fantastic! I had pepperoni, ham, roasted red peppers, green peppers, and onions with mozzarella, parmesan, and red sauce. The crust was crispy around the edges and somewhat soft in the center, which I loved because overly crunchy thin crust is a nightmare to me. The flavor was phenomenal and I cannot wait to try more combinations. Overall, a great experience with awesome food and customer service! Highly recommend.

Went to visit Mom in Maple Grove, and she wanted to try out this new place. We headed over there, and it turns out they weren’t quite open yet BUT they were slinging free pizzas to train the staff for opening. Sweet. First of all, the line didn’t move very quickly, and it was pretty loud in there. There also seemed to be a bit of a bottleneck issue as the only menu in the joint is located just inside the doors main doors. For now, until I go again on a regular day, I’ll just chalk it up to the hectic training environment and make claims only on the food. And the food was good. The pizza seems to fall somewhere in between any chain pizza and a Punch pizza. Each pizza is prepped and fired to order, and the crust is thin and crispy. I wasn’t impressed with their topping selection, which is a pretty short list and includes your basic meats, cheeses, vegetables, and seasonings, plus bbq and buffalo sauce options which I found odd. Considering their name, «Pieology,» and the fact that they refer to their menu pizzas as «from the lab,» I’d expect their toppings and menu pizzas to be a bit more extensive and crazier. Build-your-own type restaurants stress me out. I’m an expert in eating pizza, but not in curating its toppings. So I ordered the three-cheese pizza off the menu and threw a couple tomato slices on it. It was a good pizza, I’d recommend it, but what made it great was the pepper. Looks like they put freshly ground pepper on every pie, making their pizzas different from other shops and DELICIOUS. And it’s pretty cheap. **thumbs up emoji*** Note: Ma order the three-meat pizza off the menu and put some peppers and mushrooms on it, which were raw when she got her pizza. She was into it, you might be too, but I like my toppings a little bit cooked. Also, LOL at their logo, a blatant impersonation of the Chipotle logo. And the interior reminds me of a fro-yo place, for what it’s worth.
