Excellent food with great service. Highly recommend the seared ahi tuna, 6 – 7 slices perfect if you aren’t starving and get an appetizer too. The caprese salad was wonderful. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection. Everything was great!

Boyfriend and I went on our Friday night date night here and it was amazing! We had a 6 pm reservation outside and were able to watch the sunset as we enjoyed our dinners. We both got a drink, I got the hurricane martini and he got something else and both drinks were nice and strong. Very unexpected since all drinks at other restaurants have been lacking the alcohol. We got the calamari as an appetizer and it was good, nothing amazing. He got the red snapper dinner and I got the grouper dinner and both were amazing! We finished our plates and ended our amazing night with a slice of their key lime pie. Cannot wait to come back to Marco island to go to chopped again! The service was great and the food and view was even better. This should be a stop everyone makes when in the area. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

We have been property owners/sellers and vacationers for nearly 25 years on Marco Island and this was our worst restaurant experience ever. We walked in for happy hour to drink and dine and every one of the 15 stools at the bar were occupied and 4 tables in the bar area were empty with«reserved» signs on them. Contrary to what I was told on the phone, happy hour prices for food and drink are only are at the bar. The place was otherwise EMPTY at 5:15. We asked to speak to a manager and the OWNER came out and during a 3 minute conversation proceeded to answer his personal cell phone twice while ignoring us, yell at my wife and state«you should have gotten here earlier». This is classic bait and switch advertising. He told us the 4 tables that seat 24 in the bar were«for his regulars». Apparently insulting tourists like us is his business plan. TOURIST please stay away and go the CJ’s or MANGO’s next door. Those restaurants are awesome and appreciate tourists and their money and are ALWAY full while chop239 is always empty.(except at the 15 bar stools)

Be advised from someone who lives on the island this is the worst service I have ever experienced. My girlfriend and I made reservations for 7 pm dinner we arrived at 6:45 and were informed the only opening was in the bar so we decided to dine there but as we were seated we noticed that it was freezing so we told the hostess we would enjoy some drinks at the bar until something opened up. We were seated after about twenty minutes at the bar. The tables to the left and right arrived after we did and were served before us. After begging for bread and drinks I was so pisssed I asked to speak with the manager to explain our situation to him he advised me that he would check into our order after another 15 minutes passed I decided to cash out and go somewhere else the manager confronted me with a story about how the time we waited was acceptable. The food here is acceptable barley but for what you pay the service sucks.

Im confused about a lot of the negative reviews below, because I just had a great experience! The service was great, as was the bread, and I had one of the best filet mignons. It was literally cooked to perfection. My husband got the surf n turf(filet n lobster tail) and he loved it. I only request that they give a bigger quantity of the side with the entrée. The garlic mashed potatoes were delicious, but I wanted more than a dollop! For dessert, we ordered the crème brûlée and chocolate lava cake which were both soooo delicious! The whipped cream tasted homemade and amazing. We also asked the hostess to switch our table as we were being seated, as it was in the back corner of a very crowded room. They were so nice and accommodating. The restaurant is beautiful, as is the outside dining area. We will definitely come back when visiting Marco again, and I highly recommend it!!!

Service was wonderful, but the cut of meat, along with the rest of the meal was not satisfying. The only satisfying thing was the bottled water. Everything was lacking seasoning. I should not have to add salt and pepper to EVERY item just to have some remote sense of flavor. My girlfriend and I ate at Marco Prime the night before, and we both agree that Marco was far superior. Was really hoping for more.

The ribeye was delicious along with the garlic whipped potatoes. We sat outside in December by the heaters and it was very pleasant. Service was good. The outside chairs were a little uncofmrtable though.

This place was okay. Grouper was good, wine and salads were good. Their«claim to fame» is their steaks and so I ordered the New York Strip. Dry aged for two weeks. Was tough and chewy unfortunately :(. Service as good but there were only a couple other tables besides us. We told them about the steak too and they charged us for it. They did give us free dessert of crème brûlée

We made reservations for outside dining at 7:30 on a Saturday evening. We got there a little early and decided we wanted to eat inside, and they had no problem accommodating us. It was very empty for a Saturday night. I think we we the only people in the dining room. There were a couple people watching football at the bar, and a few more trickled in while we ate. The hostess and waiter were very friendly. The décor was nice and we had a nice view of the water. The food was alright, but I expected better quality and preparation at the price point… The bread basket was nothing special. I had lobster and steak. The steak was cooked appropriately, but didn’t have much flavor, and the texture was a little strange. The lobster was good, but again not much flavor. The vegetable sides were crisp and fresh. The lava cake for desert was good. I would probably give this place 3 stars if not got the amazing live music in the bar we enjoyed after dinner. The had a great 4 piece band that played a nice variety of oldies and classic rock at the perfect volume for the space. People danced, listened, and were still able to hold conversations. It was a very nice after dinner show!

Excellent food and view from inside the restaurant was great. Band playing was nice, not too loud. The surf and turf was terrific. The lobster bisque yummy. The waiter was a bit snarky toward us. We had ordered quite a bit of food and even remarked how maybe we ordered too much and he responded«I didn’t want to point out you ate a lot of bread.» Well we like bread, so what’s it to you? And it’s not like we weren’t going to pay for the food we ordered and didn’t eat. Not exactly the best waiter there. Not sure his name but he was a heavyset fellow and had no room to talk to us about overeating. The location is in a nice area with other stores.

My meal was well presented steak was cooked properly. Issue arose when all meals were served at different times forcing the first to wait until last was served. One person stated his meal was not cooked properly. For the price the meal was worth about half what was charged, for that reason I would not recommend.

We came in for an early dinner. They had a very nice specials menu until 6:30. The salmon was very tasty, the asparagus was cooked perfectly, and the mashed potatoes were excellent. Joe at the bar was very attentive! Great place to go for a nice meal on the island.

I wonder if Anthony Bourdain knows he is quoted on the menu seeing as this is a place I am almost positive he would never eat in. I am glad that they actually did change the accompaniments to the Atlantic salmon I had. The menu states that the salmon is served with a ginger soy butter sauce. There is a BIG difference between a ginger soy butter sauce and the teriyaki sauce that the salmon was drenched in! Waiter noticed I was wondering what was up with the sauce and came over to inquire. Told him the problem and he offered to change dish for me but I said it was okay, just not what I expected from description. At this point, the owner(?) or manager(?) comes over and rudely proclaims I have no idea what I am talking about and this is not a teriyaki sauce on the salmon. I said that maybe they should change the description on their menu, which obviously fell upon deaf ears. The salmon itself was actually cooked to perfection only to be ruined by the pool of TERIYAKI sauce it was swimming in. And the Parmesan mashed potatoes and straight from the freezer broccoli chunks served on the plate certainly did nothing to enhance the plate. I thought a coconut rice would have been awesome. But seriously, Parmesan mashed??? Menu description has changed since my visit almost 2 weeks ago, but it STILL says a ginger soy butter sauce. If you go in knowing that it IS teriyaki sauce, you will be fine as I did say that is was cooked awesome. And I am sure that the broccolini and the sweet potato(why au gratin ???) enhance the dish considerably more so than the previous choices. Great location, nice bar and entertainment, friendly hostess, bartenders and waitstaff. Only change should be to provide accurate descriptions to the menu.

We saw there were plenty of open tables so on a busy Friday night at 730 walked in and was seated outside at very nice table on the patio overlooking the marina. Our waiter was a bit awkward and slow but friendly. The food was very good. All in all a very nice place with very good food. The owner should just really tighten up the wait staff and it has the potential to be a Unilocal 5 star.

The restaurant is set right on the bay and has beautiful views of the sunset. Be seated outside on the terrace so you truly feel on vacation. The food was incredible and the service was pleasant and accommodating. Definitely worth visiting this restaurant.

Several others told us that Chops had taken over the spot vacated by Tara’s at the Esplanade, so we were very excited to go since Chops in Naples is our #1 favorite restaurant in the area. We have spent three months per season for the past ten years living on Marco. It was very soon apparent that this is still Tara’s with a new wrapper(Chops 239). I am sure Chops Naples wants no connection to this place. When we spend $ 100 to $ 200 for two we expect outstanding food and service. The service was a C minus and the food was a B minus. It still is Tara’s by reputation and food quality. I had high hopes and am sorry to see is it still heading down-hill.
