We have been going to this UPS store for a number of years for various shipping and notary needs, and it has always been fine, but an experience we had last weekend put it into a separate category, and I’d give it several more stars if I could. It was Saturday morning and we were half way to SFO when our guests from the midwest discovered we had left two small carry-on suitcases at our house. The cases contained the most cherished possessions of their three-year-old twins, including the blankets and stuffed animals they sleep with each night. It was too late to turn back, so the only thing to do was to figure out how to reunite them and their precious items as quickly as possible. After they boarded their plane at SFO we returned home, called our UPS store on Alhambra Avenue and explained the situation. The employee we spoke with(Lucien) was very sympathetic and told us that if we could get to the store fairly quickly(before a scheduled pick-up) he could get a parcel onto a Next Day Air flight. We grabbed the most essential items(security blankets and teddy bears) and got them on their way at once. The suitcases with the rest of the toys and books we shipped by UPS ground. Thanks to Lucien’s exceptional customer service we were able to text the news to the parents that all was well, and the twins seemed satisfied that their teddy bears and blankets would very soon be arriving home in the brown truck. A big Thank You! to Lucien and the UPS Store for such exceptional service.

Understaffed– slow. Unorganized. Been going here for years, however, new management is terrible. The manager is never here and has young kids working that are not quite professional enough to understand what needs to get done. Usually one staff person working.

Love this UPS store, been going here for years(since it was a Mail Boxes Etc. Store). Steve, the manager, is very friendly and efficient, juggling multiple clients skillfully when things get busy. Over the years, he has mailed many things for me(including a laptop to Europe) and I have never been let down. The shop also provides mailboxes, faxes, notary service, copying, etc — pretty much everything a small business or individual(without a complete office setup) would need. Great local service with staff who know all their regulars — don’t drive any further for your mailing/office support needs!

UPS Stores are franchises, so the quality of the service varies drastically from store to store. This particular store has staff that is always friendly and helpful. Even though their prices are higher than the post office, I prefer to go to this UPS store and get help, rather than waiting in a long line at the post office.
