Not the kind of restaurant I will come back to. The place is too enclosed, somber and dark. Food was mediocre, the beef enchilada has some kind of beef with dog food consistency. Lousiest enchilada I’ve had. Portion was too small and did not even have beans for a dinner plate. Will not be back. Rosa’s Café in Frisco and Chuy’s Rest in Plano are so much better quality.

I have come here a hand full of times because it is very convenient and the service is always good. The food is always very tasty. They have the standard Mexican food and daily specials. I have always been very pleased when I come. It’s in a strip mall type shopping area and there is usually plenty of parking.

We’ve eaten here several times. They have great service and wonderful, reasonably priced food. Everything we’ve tried has been good. One word about the fried«ice cream». It’s coated in a thick shell of chocolate coconut, that’s it, just coconut. There’s a nugget of ice cream in the middle with a bit of chocolate syrup. It’s lightly fried so the outside layer is a little crunchy but then there is a thick layer of raw coconut. I ate what I could but what was left was a pile of brown coconut. Next time I’ll try the flan.

I wanted to try this place as it was close by my house. I come in and the person after me was helped first. Ah duh! Did u not see me? I was picking up an order. Didn’t get a receipt had to ask for it! And the fish tacos were not consumable. It tasted like someone poured a whole bag of salt. We had to throw it away. There was nothing else in the taco but fish. I’ve had it with tex mex! I’m going back to cali! Doesn’t anyone know how to make good Mexican food in TX???

Really bad food. They charge 15 for fish tacos but that looks soggy and taste really bad. Avoid this place

Gross food. Good service. Dirty atmosphere. Chips and hot sauce are not homemade. Rosa’s café has better food! I definitely prefer a Chuy’s or Abuleos over this joint.

Eh. So disappointed. Moved into the neighborhood a yr and a half ago. Happy to see a Mexican restaurant so close. Tried it out. So-so. Fast forward a year and a half… decided to give it another chance. Ordered the swirl margarita(of course they brought the large since we didn’t specify). Hubby ordered a second, but smaller size. $ 8.95 for the large. $ 5.95 for the smaller size. Just for shits n grins, we poured the small one into the large goblet. Perfect fit. So we’re paying $ 3 more for it to be served in a goblet? Um, no. We’re not. And not even a buzz. Yes, the chips were great. Definitely homemade. Salsa was nothin to write home about. No heat factor at all & runny. We ordered fajitas. Again, how can you screw up fajitas? Oh, I know! Charge $ 26 for a sizzling plate of onions & one green pepper sliver, 5 strips of meat & not EVEN a whole chicken breast, rice, beans, dollop of sour cream, guac & pico and THREE flour tortillas. Seriously? That was the COMBOFAJITASFORTWO? Whatevs, Dos Charros. We felt ripped off. Service was great on the upside. If you want a really good Mexican restaurant nearby, try Mesa’s which is closer to Custer. Great prices, great margs. That is all.

One star for paying more than the menu price. Food is 5 star itself. We were charged an extra $ 1.75 per ticket this week. They said Sat and Sunday after 3 each item is plus $ 1.75 Funny how my husband got me this very item last week for the price stated on the menu. For 3 people we just paid and extra $ 4.50 That is pitiful that they don’t have it printed anywhere. I believe they charged us for it being takeout. Good food but they make up rules and charge more when it is convenient to them. Disappointed.

I love that this place is close to the house. I will definitely choose this over El Fenix. Prices are good for Tex Mex. Our server was super friendly and responsive.

Service was great. Luis was very prompt and service was no issue. My issue was that the el pescadore special, comprised it says of «lobster, crab and shrimp» were pretty much a lie. At 12.95, what I got was fake crab meat with two shrimp on the top. No lobster. Fake crab. I guess it was it what I expected. The sauce was good on it, but that fake crab was off putting. The server clarified that yes, it’s imitation crab, and when asked about the lack of lobster he said it was part of the«mix» that the crab was from. They have dishes with lobster and crab and dishes with only lobster or only crab, so I don’t get it. Oh well. The kids meals were fine. My little one got beef fajitas, but they don’t come with any toppings. No onions and peppers, no cheese, etc. Just meat, 2 tortillas and rice and beans. It would be nice since those fajitas are $ 1 more on the kids menu if they came with toppings too. I’m sure we will be back, and I’ll try something non seafood. I’ll update then.

Best service I’ve had in a restaurant in a very long time. Chips & drinks refilled before they were half gone. Chips & salsa served as we were seated. Food was out very fast, it was fresh and tasty. Highly recommend the pineda enchiladas and the avocado/shrimp/crab quesadillas. Dining area was spotless, and we were seated immediately.

Chips and salsas are fantastic. The chips are warm and not at all greasy. The salsa was great, but we ordered a small queso for $ 3, and quickly forgot that the salsa was there. Very good value for the money. Service was quick and good. Didn’t leave us waiting or wanting anything! I ordered the Chicken Enchiladas with rice and beans. Enchiladas had moist tender chicken in them. Sauce over them was flavorful. Beans and rice are consistently good.

Food was really good, very reasonably priced for lunch. Queso was good, Dallas a little thin, but tasted good. The reason for only 4 stars is that both of our plates were not correct from what we ordered. My wife ordered no pico, hers came with it on top; my burrito was to be beef, and it came out chicken. Our server fixed them for us, and when he brought the ticket, he had rang them in correctly, so not his fault. Overall, good experience

Well that’s the last time we come here. Never had a negative experience until now. They refuse to special order. I wanted a shredded chicken burrito with lettuce, tomato, cheese and sour cream covered with enchilada sauce. They refused. Gave me two wimpy bean burritos w chicken and packed a salad on the side. Then topped it was queso. My sons burritos were also made incorrectly.

This place was great. I was having a mommy/son date with my 4 year old, and had planned to take him to Petra, but they were closed. So we were heading back to our house and I saw this place and decided to give it a show. I had the #4 Fiesta platter and it was phenomenal. Seafood empanadas, stuffed jalepenos, and seafood nachos. So good! My son had a hard and soft taco and ate both up pretty quickly. That’s saying a lot for a 4 year old. The bad is, my menu was filthy, our waiter went MIA more than twice, and the salsa was not spicy in the least. I’m still giving it 4 stars though because the food was that good. I’ll go back again for sure. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day or something.

Ate here for the first time today. Someone needs to tell them to put the salt shaker away. The Salsa was watery and extremely salty. The chips are out of a bag apparently, subpar compared to most tex-mex in area. I ordered three hard taco lunch. The meat on tacos was flavorful but oversalted. Rice and beans were average. Wife ordered fajita beef burritos. Beef was tasty but rest of plate bland. Will not return.

Ate here a while back and despite others saying how quick the service and food are, we found it to be painfully slow. It started off with us not getting menus and having to ask for them after we’d been seated for several minutes. Our server, Moises I think, was running around like a chicken with his head cut off with no time for pleasantries and barely enough time to take a drink order or God forbid food order. He only had a few tables and a couple pairs at the bar. Once we got our food, we found it to be mediocre at best. The fajitas were over run with onions, the rice was over cooked, and my margarita was not Bueno despite its high price tag. I mean, I could go on and on. Once things died down at the restaurant, our boy disappeared for a bit and we waited yet again. He did a drive by offering of dessert and then slapped our bill on the table. The service was abysmal but the food wasn’t even good enough for us to give this place a second chance. It was a complete disappointment.

My husband and I enjoy getting to-go food from Dos Charros. They are pretty consistent as far as the quality of the food goes. It is Tex-Mex. No more, no less. Gloriously bad for you, canned cheese. Certainly not the most healthy option, but sometimes it is good to be bad.

We dropped in here for dinner based mainly on the reviews from Unilocal. We are new to McKinney so thought we would give it a try. The service was fast and the food came quickly. The chips were good but like other reviewers we found the salsa watery and bland. We asked for a spicy salsa or sauce and we were served a green salsa that was just as watery and not spicy. The entrees were average at best. We found all the food to be a bit bland. I had the Natalia(avocado enchiladas) and he had tacos al carbon. The pico with his meal was very good. Overall we may stop in again to give it another try but I wouldn’t call this place a hidden gem for local Mexican food.

I was really surprised that this restaurant was located, almost invisibly, inside a strip mall. The inside is actually very nice with a small separate bar and then a separate dining area. The food was delicious and my husband and I were both surprised by how good the portion sizes were. I ordered the queso«spicy» and was impressed to actually find it had quite a kick. My husband preferred the regular queso because of this. The chicken quesadillas were really tasty and in a larger portion than most places so I actually got two meals out of them. My husband had their cheese enchiladas and said they were very good when topped with the plain queso. Only reason I dropped it a star was because their chips are homemade and I think we got a batch that had been cooked a little too long.
