He was a wonderful professional who listened to my story. Well rounded. I was having color vision issues with ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision and he gave me great feedback as to which specialist to see and did a through eye examination. Took his time. Even took the time to do some research while talking with me. Highly recommended! Won’t rip you off, told me I didn’t need glasses, it would be a waste of money. Very nice smart individual!

I had problem with my prescription glasses from another doctor. Doctor Davidson corrected that and also helped me to get the correct lenses from Sterling Optical, which the shop wouldn’t admit that lenses were made wrong.

I’ve be a customer of Dr. Davidson for several years. He was recommended by a friend and I could not thank them enough. After going to a major chain of eye doctors for a few years, I’m glad that I made the switch. Dr. Davidson found a problem with my eyes that could have become very serious. I had tears in my retinas which could have caused serious damage to my sight. I’ve been going to Dr. Davison since then. He referred me to a specialist and I had the tears repaired. I’m really grateful for his careful examination.

I’ve had really bad eye sight for over 20 years and have seen my fair share of eye doctors in my lifetime, but I’ve been going to Dr. Davidson for about 5 years because he is the best! Unlike most eye doctors I’ve been to, he really takes the time to explain each test. I never knew why it was so important to go with your first instinct when eye doctors ask if one or two is better! Like the other reviewers have mentioned, he is very concerned with making sure you walk out of his office with the best prescription for you. When I first started going to Dr. Davidson he downgraded my prescription, and it actually helped me see clearer! I wear contacts and he always makes sure my new prescription sits on my eyes correctly. He also very quickly diagnoses any eye problems I bring to him. Really knowledgable, dependable Doctor.
Not to mention his office hours are so convenient. I don’t have to take time off work since he’s open late and on weekends. And if you walk-​in and he isn’t available immediately, you’re at Tyson’s Corner so there’s tons of ways to kill time until he’s available.
If you’re looking for a new optometrist, Dr. Davidson is awesome!

Not sure how we found Dr. Davidson originally, but have been so pleased with the experience that we go out of our way to see him. We live in Springfield and travel to Tyson’s. Highly recommended.

Getting the right prescription takes patience, skill and genuine care and Dr. Davidson clearly has all three. Forever grateful to meet an eye doctor like him.

Dr Davidson is the best. I’ve been a patient of his for years. After each visit I feel exceptionally taken care of. There is no one I’d rather take care of my eyes and vision. Dr Davidson is also very thorough in his exams. I appreciate his care very much.

If I could give 10 stars I would. I have been going to Dr. Richardson for several years now and have no intent on changing eye doctors ever!
He always does a thorough exam with no rush and is very attentive to all my questions and concerns when it comes to my eye health. He is attentive to all my needs even to the point of giving me several different trial pairs of contacts, at no charge, when I was having comfort issues with my current contacts. At one time, he gave me a free pair of contacts when I had ripped my last pair the day before going on vacation. This was a lifesaver!
He has a great sense of humor and makes a point to try and get to know each patient. At my last appointment, we spent a good 15 minutes talking about my upcoming vacation! No other doctor takes the time to do that.
The front desk staff have always been very pleasant as well.
Make no mistake, Dr. Richardson is an A++ doctor!

I had a eye emergency on a Saturday afternoon. I work at Tysons Corner Center Virginia and had walked by is office many times thinking not too much about it. But when this incident happened I immediately want to his office not knowing what to expect. What I got was great professional care. When I walked in he overheard what I was saying to the receptionist and knew that something could be very wrong. Immediately he took my into the examining room and started an evaluation — before any personal or insurance information was taken. He thought that my case (possible a serious retina problem) needed immediate attention and he called a specialist and within 2hours or so from the eye incident I was with the specialist, who came from his home and opened his office. Please keep I mind all of this happened late on a Saturday. It may take a few weeks from my problem to heal but without Dr. Davidson’s initial, fast help I don’t know where I’d be now.

Terrific service! Went out of their way to get me an emergency pair of glasses when I lost mine on vacation. Just don’t get your prescription filled at Sterling next door (they are terrible)

I have been going to him for over 10 years. I have never had any complaints. Dr. Davidson is a very good optometrist and a very nice person.

First time patient. He not only squeezed me in even though it was only 20 minutes before he was due to close, he also did not rush my exam! I was absolutely delighted that he was mindful of my questions (I have a background in medicine and have researched a bit on my eye health in the past), and he answered them as succinctly and thoroughly as I needed. Dr. Davidson was just as thorough with his exam with me as a new patient. There were no pressure tactics as a previous reviewer commented. Having met Dr. Davidson in person, I don’t even see where the previous reviewer got that he hated his job because Dr. Davidson was nothing but patient and thorough coupled with genuine care with me. I appreciated the time, patience, consideration, and expertise he lent with me as a last minute addition to his day. I would most certainly recommend him and would return to his practice. Top notch clinical provider from a fellow clinician.

I have seen Dr. Davidson for three years now and I will keep my review honest and short — he is THE best, the best Doctor, person, professional and I am a very difficult patient. Dr. Davidson is so thorough and so good yet is personable and caring, never even remotely rude, unprofessional, etc AND he has an excellent sense of humor. His reception area is small but he schedules his appointments such that there is never a wait and I have NEVER experienced a rude front desk person in my three years. Dr. Davidson has never even held against me my numerous «no shows» and THAT is amazing. You will love having Dr. Davidson take care of your eyes.

He is the worst! All he cares about is money and charging people. I went into get an eye exam and he told me I couldn’t get one. and then wanted to charge me money for just looking at my eye.
After I questioned what i was paying for, you said I can’t get an exam, that is what I came for, he screamed «JUST GET OUT OF HERE».
Months later, I try to get an eye exam done through another Dr, and I find out that he claimed money from my insurance saying he did an eye exam and contact fitting, when in fact it was not done. He made up a false report of my prescription number and said he did a contact fitting to my insurance company.
MOST UNETHICAL DOCTOR! Has no respect for his patients or even the insurance companies.
On top of that the assistant is always really rude. You call her and she constantly puts you on hold and is very rude.
He seems as if he is always in a rush and just in there to make a quick buck.
I highly advise you visit the Sterling Optical at Fair Oaks. I only stopped in here to see the asian doctor I usually go to, and when saw him I thought whatever, BIG MISTAKE! He was the worst, save your self and insurance company some time.
He will try to find a way to overcharge!
POOR EXCUSE OF A DOCTOR!

This doctor is rude, impatient, arrogant, and tried to make me feel stupid for not knowing what I wanted for my contacts even though it was my first time ever getting contacts and glasses. He made it seem like answering my questions was a huge burden and wasteful of his time.
When he did the eye exam and would ask which of the two options made me see clearer (with the little machine thing), you could see the rage in his face if I took too long to answer or asked him to repeat or go slower. It wasn’t until I went to a new doctor that I realized he wasn’t just pressuring me, but also trying to get through the exam absurdly fast.
The receptionists I encountered were always unprofessional and never knew what was going on. When I needed a new prescription for my contacts after 6 months I gave him a second chance but I had the same horrible experience as the previous two times I had seen him. He seems to hate his job and people in general. Don’t go.

The best doctor that has ever taken care of me. This review is long overdue.
Sadly I don’t live in the area anymore and am paying the price when it comes to my yearly eye exams. For over 10 years, Dr. Davidson has thoroughly and comprehensively examined my eyes and vision. It is never routine with him and he makes sure that any and all issues are addressed – never rushing.
He has a very warm demeanor and it shows that he cares. Unlike the other reviewer, I’ve never seen the office in disarray in my over 10 years there. I only have one low point to mention, and that was when he told me I shouldn’t box anymore due to my over-​stretched retina.
I hope to visit him again when I’m back east.
Addendum — Wow, I just read the one filtered review. Sounds BOGUS to me. In over TEN years there I’ve never experienced a bad receptionist, dirty office, an angry Dr. Davidson (??), pressure to use Sterling, or hidden charges. I actually have to have additional testing done due to high pressure in my eyes and he always gives me the option, along with the full information that I need. Thank you, I rest my case.

Horrible!
I first selected this doctor based on my insurance coverage and convenience. However, my few experiences have told me not to go back! Ever!
First, the office is not very clean and cramped. I understand that you’re in a prime mall location and your budget needs to stretch… but at least keep the place clean if you’re in some sort of «medical» profession.
Second, the staff is rude and unfriendly. The front desk person is usually bitter at life and angry at the world. So is the doctor.
Third, I get extra charges I don’t necessary need or want. My insurance covers an annual check-​up and a pair of glasses or contacts. However, the Dr. always seem to do other tests, such as contact lens fitting, and charge me an additional $ 60 – 80. Most places might do the fitting as a check-​up and won’t charge you extra.
Finally, he gets angry if you don’t use next door’s Sterling Optical service. I normally order my contacts w/​1−800-contacts and the Dr. chastised me when I told him that’s where I like to get my contacts.
