Myers Park & Event Center

Beautiful scenery– much nicer than you can appreciate from just driving by.

We went to Myers Park for a homeschool group field trip. Miss Jennifer and the engineers provided an exceptional presentation on farming from the 1800’s. We learned so much from the collection of antique farming equipment– how wheat was processed, and how that process has changed over the last 150 years. The children walked the gardens with Miss Jennifer comparing and contrasting plant conditions. We located spiders, grasshoppers, and observed the changes to plants due to the water and soil. Finally, we created «seed bomb balls.» This was a highlight! Afterwards, we had a group picnic under a covered porch. Our group toured the grounds. It is quite beautiful there. We plan to return in the spring to learn more about cotton. Thank you to everyone who made this trip an exceptional educational experience! I really do recommend coming here for a learning adventure. It’s a Texas treasure.

While this location is pretty for an outdoor wedding, I would NOT recommend doing a reception there is the warm months. The air conditioning is almost non existent and during the 100+ degree days in north Texas, it is brutal to ask guests to come and sweat outside AND inside. When asked to come and check the thermostat at the beginning of the day, some guy was sent out and only walked in, stated it was cool to him, and walked out. I checked the temperature at 3:00 p.m., only 1 hour into the reception and the temperature was 82. BEWARE!!!

Mark Page at this Venue is wonderful. He was very patient and willing to accommodate us. My wedding was beautiful and I highly recommend this space for any event!

Online the place looks great. But before I drove all the way out to McKinney I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to be wasting my time. I called and spoke to an uptight witch who was clearly ready for the weekend. She couldn’t be bothered to answer a few simple questions. I can’t remember the last time I dealt with someone so bluntly rude. Well, she saved me a trip and some $ and all she got out of it was a nasty review. Hope she’s happy (and I hope she gets a flat tire on the way home). Karmas like that.
