Great prices! I wish they had a better selection of beauty/healthcare but it’s ok! I got bologna there today for only $ 1.17 which is awesome! They have great prices on milk as well!

This store replaced the old Brookshire’s, though they are both part of the same company. The store has a different kind of a feel. It looks like a warehouse in some ways(stock in large containers high on shelves, uncovered concrete floors). The couple of items I bought were cheaper than they would have been at Brookshire’s(as were some others that I compared but did not purchase). The store has all of the typical departments you would expect from a grocery store including bakery and deli(including prepared foods). The selection is fairly small in the deli and fruit/vegetable area. This is not a mega grocery store, but all the general needs are covered. The service during my visit was great. I was looking for the turkeys that they had on sale($ 0.39 per lb with a minimum $ 20 additional purchase and a limit of two turkeys), and a butcher walked me over to the display in stead of just pointing in the direction. He explained that they only had small ones because of how fast they were moving and that they were waiting on more. Are you kidding me? That was awesome. Kroger has nothing but 20 lb birds right now, and their sale is $ 0.59 per lb. I grabbed two of them. Everywhere else that I walked through the store, I was greeted. Unlike Brookshire’s and Kroger, there is no loyalty program at Super 1. That will be a plus to a lot of people who are tires of adding another card to their key ring. The only things keeping this from being a 5 are the selection(I will still have to shop at a larger store at least once a week for certain items) and the traffic/construction on 75N and N Central Expressway. Getting to the store, off the exit and up the access road are all a disaster. It isn’t their fault, but it will keep me away from here unless it is at a time where I won’t be stuck in a mess.
