I and hubby love this place. It’s great for a quick dinner and cheap. Food is always good«and then» the lil Asian gal is great. We love her.

We returned to the Rogue River Mall after many months to find lots of empty spaces for shops and restaurants. CGE was still here but the chow Main was not very good and the chicken was not hot. On a rainy Sunday noon, there were few customers at the food court or even in the mall. Maybe this is why the Chinese food was not fresh and hot.

I’m going to try to sandwich compliments with critiques for this review, because I want to leave a good impression for this place, but there are a couple things that lowers the rating. First of all, the size of the portions are very reasonable for the price. I can hardly ever eat all of one of their combinations, because it’s so filling, and for just a little over six dollars. Critique: The rice is terrible, therefore I always choose the noodles, but I think the noodles are good. Greasy, but good enough for me. Compliment: Most of the workers there are excellent. Good service, except for the slightly heavier gentleman with the lisp. He is always sassy with me and tries to charge me more than the others when I have special requests. I guess it’s a compliment/critique. The slender Asian guy(looks like in his twenties) is AWESOME. He is always very nice and very generous, as is the shorter older Asian woman(I think she is the owner and/or manager). It kind of sucks that this place is in the mall, but let me tell you why I will stop in the mall JUST to eat at this place. Their orange chicken. Oh my lord. Their orange chicken is my ultimate comfort food. It always tastes perfect, it’s so moist, the outer layer always has a little crunch to it, and it tastes SO good. Maybe it’s just me. But if someone asks me what my favorite food, I don’t say Italian, sushi, etc… I say Chinese Gourmet orange chicken. If you hate greasy food, I wouldn’t recomment it. But seriously, it is so good. They also have a… I think it’s mandarin chicken? But they cut it up fresh when you order it. Also VERY good. Very tender and flavorful. I took one star away for that one rude guy, the rice, and the fact that it’s in a food court. But seriously, the deliciousness of the orange and mandarin chicken get five stars by themselves, and it’s good enough to keep me coming back when I want to spoil myself, so I gave the place an overall«4.»
