This is a cook your own breakfast restaurant with a griddle in the middle of the table. It sounds like a great idea, and unless you are with kids, I would pass. Too much work for going out to breakfast. The restaurant seemed a little dirty all around, however we noticed they do an excellent job cleaning the griddles. Also remember for a summertime place, it gets hot inside, times all the heat of the griddles! We were sweating. Homefries and sides are just ok, nothing exciting! The pancakes were tasty but after making the first pancake it gets old…

My wife and I came in for Lunch. I highly recommend the brisket, ribs and of course the Lobster Roll. The brisket was cooked to perfection, and they find cover it in a bunch of Sauce, so you can add as much as you would like at the table. Can’t wait to come back. They also have an extensive beer and wine list

How fun and delicious! Spinach and tomato(both fresh!) eggs Benedict and pancakes and eggs for me. Fluffy, tasty pancakes and fresh eggs for me to cook on our griddle. Very helpful waitstaff who would cook for you if you preferred. Will definitely go back for breakfast and want to try dinner! Check it out! Owners were clearly excited about their food and restaurant!

Not worth your time… Like I told my guests the one time we went there, «not a single corner uncut!» Buyer beware.

Ate here this morning and was shocked at the price. Food was pretty decent but EVERYTHING was extra… and I had to cook my own breakfast! Everything gets cooked on the griddle at each table. Sort of annoying if you ask me, I went out to eat so I DIDN’T have to cook. Anyways, $ 55 later I left feeling shafted.

Strange concept, lazy morning and I didn’t feel like cooking but the griddle in the middle is to do it yourself. I’m not sure how I feel about the griddle, little unsanitary if you think. Good place for kids but for adults. Not so much. I went safe and ordered a bagel.

This has to be the most idiotic concept even conceived. Let the customer cook their own breakfast on a 1ft by 1ft flattop grill. I had no clue what this place was when I walked in but saw little flattops at each station and thought. well maybe the cook comes to your table like Benni Hannas… Man was I wrong. When I sat down with my group of 6 and saw that other patrons were manning the grill I knew it was crap. I myself ordered the waffle, because when I go out to eat I actually would like it cooked by someone else. If I wanted to cook for myself I would have stayed at HOME. I mean if the ingredients or the atmosphere were a little better, similar to say a Melting Pot, I wouldn’t have minded cooking my own food. This place had no sense of style and it looked like a cafeteria in a poor school district. So back to the meal. I ended up ordering the waffle, side of turkey sausage and home fries. My wife ordered the egg white omelet with tomatoes and mushrooms. The other members of my group ordered omelets and pancakes. When the waitress arrived about 20 minutes later with their ingredients. that’s right. 20 minutes to whip up raw ingredients, I see her pass around bowls of raw eggs and egg whites along with pancake batter. Handling of raw food at your table without any hand sanitizer or washing station nearby has to break a few health codes. Right? Now you have 5 people trying to make pancakes and omelets on this small grill. It was a total disaster, everything was running into everything. I mean we could have cooked everything separately but like normal people, we enjoy eating collectively. So, then came the bill. This place has the audacity to charge gratuity for groups of 6 or more. My question is. FORWHAT? It states on the menu that the waitress is our friend, she was no help at all. To sum everything up. if you happen to be in Meredith and the thought of going out to breakfast at the Griddle in the Middle crosses your mind. You should drive 5 more minutes down the road to Hannafords and buy ingredients and cook at home for a fraction of the cost. Drive 10 more minutes to Dunkin Donuts close to 93. The service is far beyond what you would receive there. I’m shocked this place is still open. We as Americans simply just put up with crap. This is why I am thankful of Unilocal reviews. We deserve better people. yes even NH deserves better than this. A place like this in Boston wouldn’t last till 9:30AM their opening morning.

In theory this is a cool concept however we had a large party(9) and I don’t think they were equipped to handle it. The negatives: service was slow, not enough plates, the toppings for the pancakes didn’t arrive until long after the pancakes were made. The fruit for the pancakes was frozen, not fresh. The positives: cool experience and atmosphere. The women who seemed to own it was wonderful. The cost was a bit high for what you got and in my opinion I wouldn’t go back.

Cute and whimsical… though I wouldn’t go back unless I had a child with me. We woke up too late for our hotel bfast so we drive to what we thought would be a great NH diner with some big breakfast options… there were options but definitely geared towards children. Service was great, the owners stopped over to check in abc our waitress was pleasant and helpful. The food… average at best. The good — pancakes! They were delicious and the syrup was too. The bad — omelette fillings, they come in a tiny measured dressing container and there wasn’t enough cheese to fill my avg size 2 egg omelette. The ugly — ok that’s an exaggeration nothing was terrible! Cooking for myself wasn’t ideal but I can see how it is fun for some. Our disappointment was that they ran out of home fries and the substitution was one slice of toast… pretty sure that’s not a worthy trade off. Overall, other than the pancakes I wasn’t impressed with the breakfast and there must be other diners which are better in the area, particularly for adults.

When my boyfriend and I went in I didn’t know that you have to cook your own food. He thought it would be like a Japanese restaurant where they cook at the table. I would not have paid to go out to cook $ 5.00 worth of food myself and then pay $ 30.00 to a restaurant. They say the waitress is there to help you every step of the way and that was not true either. The best tip I can give the owner is to give customers the option. Either you can cook on the griddle that is in the middle of the table yourself or you can opt to have them cook for you.

Great place! Unique and fun for all ages. Someone commented on how you have to cook your own pancakes, eggs, home fries and bacon(and crazy that you should pay full price). Huh? WTF? You only make your own eggs and pancakes. All the other sides are prepared for you. Of course you pay full price, duh!!! The concept is fun and original… pretty cool to flip your own pancakes, add whatever you want to them, make them big or small, etc. And you get unlimited pancake batter which is very good! Same rule applies to eggs… make your own creation. As far as kids putting their fingers in the griddle and getting burnt… Hmmmmmm, here’s a crazy concept: «watch your freakin’ kids». Or perhaps if parents are too lazy to do this or they have insane children that cannot be obedient, perhaps they should skip this place and head to Fun Spot to play mini golf. Oh no, wait… they might wack someone off the head with golf club or choke on a golf ball or trip and break a leg. Better try the water slides!

The staff was friendly and great with kids and the place really seemed genuinely eager to cater to families with young children. That being said, this is a concept that should have been aborted in its infancy. You like to cook your own eggs, bacon, pancakes, home fries and still pay full price for them at a restaurant? You like to have a 400 degree griddle sitting inches away from your face and the wandering fingers of fidgeting kids? If so, this is the place for you. There is nothing nefarious about the place and, like I said, it seems like their heart is in the right place, but when I ordered an egg over-easy I was a little shocked when the waitress plopped a bowl with a raw egg in it in front of me and handed me a spatula. Essentially we spent $ 30 for 2 adults and 2 kids to have someone clean up after us(and pour coffee which wasn’t bad, to be fair). How this place got insurance coverage is beyond me. Considering it is right down the street from Funspot and Wiers Beach ensures that it will continue to be packed as it was during our visit. However, this place is one kid standing up on his/her chair and slipping onto that griddle away from having their insurance yanked.

Staff was very friendly & attentive, batter makes delicious pancakes, I’ve tried their regular and corn batters. They say whole grain batter will be coming soon. Lots & lots of ingredient options, both healthy & sweet, coffee is good, prices are reasonable, turkey alternatives for bacon & sausage are available. It’s a lot of fun making your own pancakes & eggs, etc. It can get very warm sitting at a table with a hot griddle in the middle, though, so it’s a good thing they have air conditioning. Since there is a hot griddle right at the table, you’ll want to be careful of little kids fingers and dropping things in there.
