Great meat lasagna. The food has always been great unfortunately our waitress wasn’t that good. We bought a bottle of wine and had to pour ourselves more than once even though they were less than 5 tables in the place. She saw me pour my own bottle and didn’t even come over. Then proceeded to go hang out at the hostess stand.
I was here last
Month for a birthday party and my experience was great. Can’t say the same tonight.

Strolled into this place for a late lunch on a Tuesday. There were only a handful of other people in the restaurant. Each table has a fresh rose which was a nice touch. They had some lunch specials that we decided to try. We split a bruschetta with truffle sauce for our appetizer, and it was amazing. It was 4 pieces, but the bread was large, so it was definitely enough to hold us over while our entrees cooked. I got lobster ravioli in pink sauce. The sauce was to die for, and the lobster was great. My husband ordered filet mignon, which was cooked just how he liked it (rare). It was a large portion for lunch, so it definitely filled him up. Our only complaint was that the prices were a bit high for lunch. The portions were big enough to make up for this, but since they were specials, we didn’t know the prices beforehand. Without any drinks, our total came to about $ 100+tip.

I came here because I wanted some pizza but I didn’t want just any old pizza. So of course I got on Unilocal and did some looking and came across this place. The reviews were great and the food looked of good quality which is what I wanted.
I got there and this restaurant is very cozy and romantic even though I with my ex I wasn’t trying to be romantic. So yes this nice restaurant is very cozy so please don’t plan on having a private conversation.
We ended up getting a prosciutto pizza which was very tasty but not huge in size. The crust was outstanding and was probably the best part of the pizza. The service was decent even though we didn’t get any bread.
So would I come here again? Absolutely because the pizza was very good, the prices are fair and it’s not loud like those pizza by the slice spots.

Everyone here makes you feel right at home! The pasta is out of this world! Owners, chef, and of course Jessica will take GREAT care of you! I’m a local, been living in SoBe for almost 25 years. My favorite Italian restaurant!

You have to come here for dinner. Food here was excellent; prices are fair, and service was exceptional. This is my second time in Miami and this is a place I will continue to visit in the future. We started with the calamari, which also contained shrimp to our surprise; both were amazing. The pea soup was very tasty and mouth watering. My main entrée was Lobster and Seafood Linguini, it was just as amazing as the appetizers. Giada was our waitress; who was patient, attentive, we did not need to ask for refills, she made great recommendations and made us feel at home. The entire staff was energetic and friendly. The restaurant was clean and elegant. From over hearing surrounding conversations I noticed a large number Italian speaking customers; when we commented our choice to our Hotel attendant he stated this restaurant was authentic and a local favorite in the Italian community.

Hands down the BEST restaurant in South Beach. Not pretentious, amazing fresh ingredients. The best red sauce and tiramisu I have ever had. You must stay for dessert

I tried the risotto it was not cooking well also the price is to expensive compared to the quality of food and service

My wife and I went to dinner looking for authentic Italian food. My family is Italian and immediate family lives in Italy to preface this review. The restaurant seems to be popular and looks good from the outside and inside. We both ordered the gnocchi thinking we would get a fresh, homemade plate of potato/​pasta dumplings. What we got instead were chewy lead weights in tomato sauce. Gnocchi should be light and melt in your mouth. We didn’t clean our plates because it just wasn’t good.
The owner came around and asked how our meal was and I told him my family is Italian, mother and wife makes gnocchi, and it’s nothing like what was served. He sat at our table and his response was «why did you order the gnocchi? I own the place and I don’t like them. We don’t change the recipe because we have customers that if you change one thing they get upset.»
What kind of a response is that? It just doesn’t make sense as a fellow manager. I would have offered something else on the menu and not charged the customer.
I then asked him if these were homemade and his response was a long pause, followed by a weak «yes». He was totally lying as each gnocchi were identical and looked like a machine made them. Also, they were frozen and the first ingredient was most likely water instead of potatoes. Trader Joe’s has better gnocchi.
We didn’t want to make a scene as we were on vacation and the day was good not to be spoiled by a less than mediocre dinner. The rest of the meal was so-​so as well and the only reason this gets 2 stars is because dessert was free and the waitress was nice/​provided good service. If you want a good Italian meal go 2 doors down to Fratelli La Bufala.

A good friend recommended La Locanda for Valentine Day. It is a small Italian restaurant on Miami Beach with good food and a nice vibe. It can be a little tight inside but not too uncomfortable.
They didn’t have a special overpriced valentines day menu which was a big plus. We started the night drinking wine and eating their complementary bread with marinara sauce. The sauce was fresh and tasty and the bread was warm.
We ordered the Fiochetti Ripieni con Pera e 4 Formaggi and the Chitarra Al Ragu di Agnello. The Fiochetti was absolutely delicious. The combination of pear and creamy cheese created a crunch, sweet, tang combination that make my mouth water. I hadn’t ever had anything like it and thought it was one of a kind. The Ragu was very good too. Deep, bold ragu with ground lamb that was tender and soft. The spaghetti it sat in was hand made by the chef in the back. Textures, aromas and taste were all on par. We ordered the Nutellino della Locanda for desert. My girlfriend is a sucked for nutella so this one hit it out of the park. Fresh warm bread filled with nutella sitting around ice cream and whipped cream. All you need it an espresso to wake yourself up after this feast!
We sat close to the door so there were a few times I had a bug fly into my face. Again the tables were close to the glass so there wasnt a lot of space. The staff was kind and the owner/​manager was very hospitable.

After reading Unilocal reviews about it I decided to head here for dinner and what a food orgasm!!!
We were seated at sidewalk dining which I feel was lovely. The servers were quick and welcoming. We were served with fresh bread and olive oil. We had red wine (tuscano)which was so good. I had Gnochi in Alfredo sauce, which was so freaking awesome… I have never tasted something so good. It was housemadr Gnochi, perfectly cooked and really delicious. I like it hot so added chilli flakes and black pepper and omg it was perfect!!!
My husband had margarita pizza which was excellent, thin crust, flavorful and yummy!
We ended with TirAmisu which is my favorite. It was moist, fresh, tasty and so good. Finger– licking good!!!
Overall a very pleasant experience and highly recommended to everyone!

This place is great! Lovely ambience, service is on point and the food is the best part! The pasta are home made and the ingredients are fresh, if you come here you must try the Nutellino for dessert it will make you want to lick the plate! So good! Well deserve 5 stars and for sure will be coming back!

My family and I went here for Christmas dinner while vacationing in Miami. It took us awhile to find an Italian restaurant but after reading the Reviews, we were sold. This was the best decision ever. The food, the staff, and the environment were all amazing!
My mom and I split a margherita pizza and the fiocchetti ripieni con pera e 4 formaggi. This was absolutely amazing! It was «purse» pasta filled with four cheeses & pear in light cream sauce and fresh arugula. Hands down one of the best dishes I’ve had in awhile. Our entire family was trying to eat our dish because it was so good. The pizza was also absolutely amazing. My mom and I finished both dishes and still had room for dessert.
For dessert I had the tiramisu and split with my two sisters. We finished it in less than a minute because this homemade dessert was so good. We wish we ordered a second.
When I come back to Miami, this is the #1 place I’ll Come back to. The food was absolutely delicious and this is definitely a place you all should visit!

Celebrating my friend Adri bday with artists and gallerists after Scope, it was the perfect place to chow down.
Super vibe, tho it has seen better days the dinginess is offset by the excellent Italian food.
It’s a typical Italian Cantina sort of food which is why I love it.
At first quiet and then at 9ish gets really kicking with couples and even lovers passionately seated at the little tables so it feels you are in Italy veramente.
The staff is Italian and great service provided.

Good Italian food and at a great price point for south beach. Steer a few blocks from the touristy Ocean Drive and you’re better off grabbing a good meal here.

It has to be well known in Unilocal Miami that pasta and almost (no seafood) any of it’s variations are fine by me. Therefore, even during a day devoted to healthy eating, I would end up at an Italian restaurant. My friend Michelle picked La Locanda knowing my culinary proclivity and I liked it. If I would have ordered the pear ravioli she had, I would have 5-​stars LOVED it, but I liked it.
For starters, the décor of La Locanda is very classy, clean and with a smattering of TV’s showing some soccer game this particular afternoon. Service was actually friendly and great with recommendations and the bread with balsamic vinegar was perfect to start. I actually missed out on the marinara sauce they brought with the bread basket but I need to go back for that.
Speaking of that marinara sauce, it was actually very rich and flavorful on my spaghetti bolognese. The basil garnish was plentiful and the pasta dish was not overloaded with cheese. My dinner portion was generous enough that i didnt finish the pkate. The pasta could have been a little firmer (al dente) or maybe on some linguini, but overall it was a very good Italian dinner!

Best authentic italian traditional receipts, outstanding pizzas, delicious TIRAMISU!.. friendly and very accommodating service! Great for families, intimate atmosphere for couples, just the right spot for the perfect night! I love SOBE, but it won’t be the same without «LA LOCANDA»!!!

Vengo cada vez que quiero come italiano. Sencillamente me encanta, siempre pido las sopas, la pasta de pera y he probado la lasagna. Tienen un sabor sensacional y el tamaño es perfecto para el precio

I loved the food here. It’s a bit «hidden» from the fanfare on Washington, Collins, and Ocean drive but not that far away at all. They’ve got curb-​side tables which aren’t as bad as it sounds since the street isn’t as busy as the rest of Sobe. I’m fairly certain our waitress was Italian so that was a good sign too.
Tried the salmon farfalle and had a bite of someone else’s ravioli and it was fantastic. Really not one to get excited about Italian food but this place was definitely something else.
I know there’s a thousand other Italian places right around the corner but this one is definitely worth checking out if just to get away from the crowds for an hour. While you’re there try the crème caramel, it adds a star or two to the rating just by itself.

I liked this place and had never been before. It is very quaint. I imagine going there on a date would be very nice and romantic, however I went with a few rowdy friends and turned it up! Hahaha, just kidding. Just a laid back dinner.
The service was on point. She came by often and our water glasses were always full. She made suggestions and told us about the specials. Very nice lady.
The pasta was very good and very al dente which I love and the pizza was good. I had the Penne al pomodoro. Simple and good and not expensive. My friend had the FIOCCHETTI RIPIENI CON PERA E 4 FORMAGGI and OMG IT WAS FANTASTIC! I will get that next time I go. We got the Cotto E Fungi Pizza as an app to share and it was fantastic.
Highly recommended.

Très mauvaise expérience avec la vente à emporter.
5 min d’attente dans l’entrée sans que l’on m’adresse la parole, alors que 3 membres du personnel étaient disponibles.
On prend ma commande puis on me laisse attendre debout dans l’entrée alors seules 3 tables étaient occupées.
On m’amèné les pizza, puis on me demande de payer les bras chargés, alors que ça fait 10 min que je poireaute debout.
Et tout ça pour une fois rentré à l’hôtel, on se rende compte que les pizzas étaient carbonisées dessous en grande partie.
Alors tout ceci a 15 – 19 $ la pizza. NON MERCI !

Fresh delicious and authentic Italian food. We had lunch at La Locanda. It was awesome. We started with the antipasti La Locanda. The meats were sliced perfectly and cheese was great. I shared my Rigatoni Alfredo with my hubby. The fresh pasta was cooked on point. The alfredo sauce was creamy and light. Not heavy or overly seasoned. Hubby ordered the Margherita Pizza with prosciutto. I prefer my prosciutto cooked on top. I prefer the cooked crispness of prosciutto on a pizza. It’s a great intimate and friendly place.
