My cousin’s and I visited Miami from California back in April for one of their birthdays, and after being treated like a second class citizen at LIV(We couldn’t get in because we were not white or Spanish and they hand pick the females they want to come in) we left LIV and went to Room Service. Now we had FUN here! Me and my cousins got in for $ 10 which was GOOD! The music was straight hip hop and they had a lot of New York music playing because Jim Jones was there that night(He’s from NY). The drinks were cool, $ 17 dollar drinks, but still cool! There were some college frats there, and they were strolling and that was off the chain! The only two negative things were: the club is small, if it was bigger it’ll fasho be poppin! The second thing was they had some female there talking about she was Stevie J’s(From Love and Hip Hop ATL) niece lol everyone was like«Who are you?» My only advice to them would be keep only the famous people in there! I’ll for sure be back next time I visit Miami!

I never posted this on time… we were there in December of 2012, so this is very old… but still, here you go… My fiancé and I came here with our travelzoo voucher for dinner. We started with two specialty cocktails, both of which tasted great, but were far too over priced(I would never pay the $ 17 per drink that this place charges regularly). Then we got the VIP shrimp/crab martini appetizer to share. It too tasted great. But then, we got our filets for dinner. They weren’t bad, and were accompanied by yummy veggies and potatoes, but there was something off about them. Not your normal filet, it was a bit chewy almost spongy, just not a real filet mignon. The place also didn’t have A1, and instead offered me some BBQ sauce, which I accepted only to realize the BBQ sauce was meant for the skirt steak not filet, and made my filet taste even more like not a filet. Then came the champagne, which got delivered in flutes which were only half full. It was suppose to be some fancy champagne, but I never saw it getting poured, and it didn’t taste like a good champagne. Then came desert, we both got the red velvet. This was definitely the worst part of the meal. The cake tasted like something out of a Pillsbury cake mix box thing with Pillsbury frosting! Yuck! The entire experience seemed to start off great and slowly(very slowly … We were there for over 2 hours) got worse and worse. In addition, the place was a bit dirty. If they want to be a pricy top notch restaurant, they should get tablecloths and real napkins. I wasn’t sure where to put my utensils, like directly onto what seemed like not the most clean table or in my lap, after I unwrapped them. Also we ended up leaving $ 60 for tip/tax and the travelzoo voucher itself was $ 100. There is no way this meal was worth $ 160! We could have gone to a real top notch steak house for that!

THISREVIEWISINREGARDSTOSHODDYMANAGEMENTETHICSOFROOMSERVICELOUNGE: I cannot personally give a review on the club itself(music, crowd, etc.), but this review is in regards to the ethics of the management team who often hire live bands and other live entertainers. I rarely write negative reviews, but this is to warn any musicians or entertainers being invited to work at Room Service Lounge — perhaps to perform a single event or for multiple events. My close friends are musicians and were hired originally to play as a live band opening for a big rap entertainer. At first, the management team arranged to pay each band member $ 100 per person for 3 hours($ 33 per hour is underpaying, but reasonable for a first-time gig). After a week, they called to inform the band that they could only pay $ 75 per person, which was eventually lowered to $ 60 per person by the management team insisting that this was their rate for all first-time bands. The band arrived at the lounge, set up their equipment in front of the audience and were about to introduce the rap artist. Before beginning, a member of the management team, «Sweetness», approaches them and informs them that the band would NOT be paid this time due to it being their«first-time» playing at Room Service Lounge. Note that this is a professional band, not some high school interns. At this point, the band leader, informed the management team that«his service is not available to them any longer, as we are not a free or volunteer group – we’re a professional band that you have hired for entertainment.» The band leader informs his band to pack up their gear and leave the club due to a breech of their original agreement. The manager has the audacity to confront the band and ask them«how can you leave with all our club’s patron’s waiting for your entertainment?» Making it appear as if the band is the one at fault. Nonetheless, the band leaves before they waste any more of their own valuable time with nonsense. I write this review for a few reasons: 1. As an individual who is also a service provider(though not a band member) who is often bullied around by managers, organizations and individuals who want to freeload off my hard work; 2. For other band members and entertainers who may be offered a gig or performance event at Room Service Lounge-research carefully, sign contracts and ask for a deposit; and 3. For the club goers who are may have been inconvenienced two nights ago when the band«got up and left” – this is the reason. The club is happy to take your money, but not to pay the people who entertain you to be there. 4. For the insistence that artists, entertainers and services providers are professionals. They do not want to be offered free dinner, free drinks, favors or petty cash – this doesn’t pay bills. All skilled professionals deserve to be treated as such, and their work respected with dignified compensation. I hope this helps all readers make an informed decision as to where they invest their money. Moreover, I hope the management team will re-examine their ethics and rightfully pay those who entertain their customers.

I visited Room Service Restaurant and Lounge on June 18, 2013 with my best friend. We spent a week on South Beach to simply relax and enjoy the sun. We also wanted a fun place to watch Game 6 of the NBA finals. Wow, did we find a place! Room Service was awesome… from the wings(honey lemon pepper), the crab cakes, and the awesome drinks we knew we were set for the evening. We had a VIP section and the entire crowd was so ‘turned up.’ The wait staff were courteous and friendly, the music and sound system were also on point. We enjoyed ourselves so much on Tuesday for Game 6, we came back on Thursday for game 7. …and the Miami Heat won the Championship, Go Heat! I can only attribute my totally awesome experience to the guys and girls at Room Service and for helping to make my stay on South Beach a totally memorable experience.

Went there last night with some girlfriends, and we had an ok time — I suspect that if we didn’t get most of our drinks paid for, we would have had a great time. By the way, I’m 33, not 83, so when I think the music is too loud, it probably is. That was way bad.

where do i start about this place, i heard about this place from a friend. gave it an ok review, music was the best part about the club, but drinks are way overpriced. but i expect this from clubs on miami beach. Ok, so i purchase a groupon back in december, for a VIP table and two bottles. I call yesterday and make a reservation for 10:30 pm but i later decided to change it to 12am. when i called back i was told that they usually dont like doing groupons on friday nights being that this is when they want to charge the most money for everything. the price for a VIP table was 1500 $ and i would be required to pay up to keep my spot or be asked to move upon someone spending the required VIP amount. After a few calls back and forth i was then told all tables were already reserved for the night. they tried to blame the young lady who booked my reservation because she was only there for a few weeks. i have dealt with many clubs and their promoters who always change prices at the last minute. but no one has ever cancelled my reservation for me. To any tourist or rare visitors to miami beach, be prepared to spend top dollar to enjoy the night life. I will never visit this place after this experience

Cool concept… Inside the place looks pretty much like a lot of clubs I’ve seen… but the Drink names are unique and go well with the theme. If they really wanted it to look like a hotel lobby… I feel the decoration should be a a bit more… well. hotel like. like how about having a butler outside and giving you a room key to charge your drinks to… But regardless, it was a cool ambiance… The«maids» looked great and even though it was«house night» people seemed to be enjoying themselves. Drinks as usual… very pricey. signature cocktails are $ 17 plus gratuity.

I was cool a lot of 21 – 25 year olds. Not many men to pick from for the single ladies… the music was cool but WAYTOLOUD! You have to pay to sit so make sure you wear comfy shoes :) I did not eat dinner there. I would not go back just because I think every experience would be the same.

Had dinner on 12÷21÷12 with one of my best friends. We decided to wait until this place(newly renovated CLUBBED) had been open a few months and hopefully worked out any kinks before going. We had 8pm dinner reservations and we were one of 3 other dinner parties. Our server seemed pleasant and helpful however we waited what seemed like forever for them to bring us small plates since we were sharing our food. Our food was cold by the time they brought them. $ 17 drinks in an establishment that is not a 5 star restaurant was a huge put off. Additionally, they automatically added a 20% gratuity on to a check for a party of 2. I had cash on me so it is a shame that my friend didn’t either because I would have paid a 10% gratuity and walked out. If I do go back, you can best believe I will bring cash and pay for my drink only and not some automatic 20% they take it upon themselves to add to drinks you order at the bar. I will have to have NOTHING going on in order to go there again.

We made dinner reservations for around 10pm. We had a part of 10 and we were the only people in the place when we arrived. I thought something was wrong with that when we arrived. We went with it anyway. The food was average at best. We took bottle service and had several bottles for the table. The aspect that ruined our evening is the hip hop music that was being played. We didn’t realize that they were going to tun this into a hip hop club and we pleaded with the Dj to play some dance music, and mix it up a little but he wouldn’t oblige. We dropped over 2000 and left very unhappy because we had no music to dance to. The bass on the Dj equipment shook our table and seats while we sat waiting or the Dj to accommodate the best customers in the place that evening. Go only if you like hip hop.

The atmosphere was cool but the food was horrible. I went here the other day with my sister and she order the steak but that clearly was not steak. My side dishes that came with my meal were cold. In addition, on the menu they say they charge 18 percent gratuity but it was clearly more than that so please pay attention to your bill. I hope they get it together.

Saturday night for the club experience(didn’t have any food) — $ 30 cover — hip-hop virtually all night — Pretty small inside — $ 20 tequila shots — Gratuity automatically added when paying the bartender(this is strange and very common in Miami) — Sorry, but its just an OK place.

Came here for a work outing and used our a voucher from Travelzoo. The whole experience was awesome! Super service, great music, great atmosphere and awesome food! The portions were HUGE and everything was perfectly cooked. I shared 3 appetizers with the group which included a dip trip(which was my personal favorite), the crab cakes and the calamari. For entrees I ordered the skirt steak which had a slightly sweet and savory sauce was served over mashed sweet potatoes. It was so big I could have eaten hald and taken the other half home with me. The desserts were carrot cake, red velvet and the blueberry cheesecake. All were delicious, but my favorite was the blueberry cheesecake hands down. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and would be back often if I lived in Miami!

This space used to be occupied by BED, and I’m told that Room Service has only been in operation since this past Thursday. I came here on Saturday night far after the place was already in full lounge/club mode for a friends’ birthday celebration. The concept of this restaurant/lounge seems, well, a bit different, and even their website describes it as «experimental». Earlier in the evening it’s supposed to give the appearance of an upscale hotel restaurant, complete with staff in butler, hostess and bellhop uniforms. Upon«checking in», the bellman shows you to your«suite» which is actually a booth and table with flat screen TV, the butler takes your order and they and the bellhops do the serving; desert is served on traditional room service delivery carts. The food is described as «Soulful American cuisine» by one source, and«American dishes with a Latin flair» in this restaurant’s collateral. They also have a happy hour food and drink menu(called«early check in»), with the drinks having hotel themed names. After 11 p.m. this place is transformed into a lounge/club with ladies in French maiden uniforms doing the serving. As mentioned, I arrived late in the evening, after it’d been transformed into a club/lounge. On this night there was no wait to get in, most likely because it was only the 3rd night of operation, and though there were security and doormen at the entrance, I didn’t pay a cover. The place was full but not packed. We stood at the bar most of the time, where British mixologist Kevin put on a show much like the bartenders in the movie«Cocktail» as he juggled bottles and glasses while creating drinks for the patrons. Bottle service was also offered, delivered by women in French maid uniforms, and the bottles were delivered with flair — held high in the air as the servers carried them from the service area through the club to the tables, with a sparkler burning away the entire time. The DJ they had spinning on this night was great and the sound system was perfect for the size of this venue with plenty of bass. They have a video wall near the entrance(on the opposite end of the floor from the DJ), and a decent amount of the usual club lighting and smoke effects, though all the flat screens along the walls were switched off when we were here(perhaps those are only used during dinner). In all an interesting concept. I have a feeling this place may be a more popular club and lounge than it will be a restaurant, as the whole«upscale hotel wait staff and hotel room service/dining experience in the absence of an actual hotel» theme may not be an easy one for some patrons to grasp.
