I wish there was a negative star option. This has to be the worst place I have ever eaten. $ 100 for a 6ish oz filet mignon, actually it doesn’t deserve that: piece of unidentifiable meat, 4 pieces of steamed broccoli(you know the airplane variety) and a perfectly spherical scoop of cafeteria powdered potatoes. I have lived in Miami for four years and this has to be the worst place I have encountered. I know, I shouldn’t have eaten on ocean drive, what was I thinking. To be honest I wanted to do some people watching and I had plenty of time to do so because apparently my waiter decided to actually sit down and enjoy drinks with another table. I saw him twice the whole meal, to take our orders and to take the check. The one thing that the fox café actually did for me was they were nice enough to do the tip calculation for me… against my will.

With all of the places to choose from on Ocean Dr, somehow we ended up going here. All of the menus started to run together once you see a dozen of them. We were drawn in by the wood fire pizzas, which turned out to be lackluster. The swordfish was paper thin and overcooked, and the sauce tasted like a can of tomatoes was opened and dumped on top of it. The only saving grace, strangely enough, were the sides of broccoli and mashed potatoes. Service was poor, with very short and infrequent visits. On top of it all, it was overpriced for what we recieved. Can’t bring myself to go with a 1 star, but it is close.

My girlfriends and I decided to eat here after our half hearted attempt at find a Cuban restaurant was unsuccessful. We all ordered pasta dishes and mojitos and were in pure bliss. We had no trouble with service and even received a hefty discount on our beverages. Perfect location to people watch.

Brunch options are chock-a-block on Ocean Drive. Fox Café stood out because they had lighter fare, such as mini croissants, on their menu in addition to the heavier omelets and pancakes. My nutella-schmeared croissants were just filling enough for me. My friend’s three-egg omelet pleased him too. Can’t complain! Oh wait yes I can, there are no prices next to the drinks, so we ended up paying like $ 6 for an unnecessarily huge glass of OJ.

automatically charges you 17% grat. inconsistency in quality of food — my mom ordered their salmon fettucine, which was really good. sister ordered lobster and shrimp ravioli which was not good — the lobster wasn’t tasty, and the ravioli was too thick and chewy. i ordered the south beach salad with chicken — it was just okay, not bad but not great. service isn’t all that great. pretty aloof, and prices are pretty high. but i guess for the atmosphere and view of sitting on south beach is the reason why you come to one of these restaurants anyways, right? seems like all the restaurants on this strip offer the same deals, so we just finally got tired of looking at menus and just sat down at foxcafe.

I’m really shocked this place got so many negative reviews. We decided to come to South Beach after one of our cruises to check out the«cheap» breakfasts. As you may know, Ocean Dr is lined with restaurants and Cafes, all offering a special breakfast price. We were able to get a full breakfast(Omelet, French Toast or Pancakes) with coffee and juice for $ 4.95. I have to say it was one of the better omelets I have eaten.

Out of all the restaurants on Ocean dr. we ended up at this one. It was the first one we pass by and after walked down the street we came back to this one. Not sure what made us come back to this one but we did. Supposedly they offered 2 for 1 drinks but that did not reflect on the bill. They had several specials they were trying to sell and they had those on display. One of it was the seafood pizza that my friend ordered. It came out way too salty and you can hardly taste anything. The tuna dish was not the freshest tuna you can get. The only appetizing dish was the lobster ravioli. This is a one time deal restaurant for us for sure.

Fox café is on the strip of many restaurants along Ocean Drive. I thought they all looked the same but realize that Fox Café should not have been the one we chose. I wanted the quesadilla and on the menu, it said that it came with a hot sauce. I asked the waiter what kind of hot sauce and it said it was very hot. I was excited. Our food took 40 minutes to arrive(we were starving and timed it). When it came my «hot» sauce turned out to be pico de gallo salsa. Not even close to hot. I was disappointed because the whole reason I ordered that meal was for the spice. Their quesadillas were generic, like any restaurant chain I’ve been to. My friend ordered the crabcakes and noted that they were probably bought and heated from frozen. My other friend however really enjoyed her pasta. Since there are many other restaurants in SOBE, I would try another one over Fox Café.

Food here is great, so good in fact, that we went here twice during our trip. Yes, crazy I know, especially with all the different restaurants on S. Beach. They have a $ 4.50 breakfast special, which has most of your basic breakfast items on it, pancakes, waffles, omelettes, etc. And it’s actually quite filling and yummy. Other than the food, everything else is the PITS! This place has the worst service. The first time we frequented this place, our server didn’t bring us anything that we asked for, it took her like 20 mins. just to bring us water. And we complained to the waiter and received the evil eye from her, because of it. And like others have mentioned, one thing that bothered us as well, was the fact that the tip is automatically built in to the bill, so you can’t even adjust it based on the lousy service.(This is common at many places in Miami, FYI). In fact, that may be why they just treat you however they want, because they already know they’re going to get the tip regardless. Anyways, the food is decent and well priced, so if you can just go in expecting lousy service, you might be alright… Haha!

Was walking the beach and my wife and I got hungry, we stopped a the Fox Café for the 2 for 1 lunch entrees. The food was good, drinks good, service good and we also sat on the sidewalk in the middle of all the action. My wife ordered the BIG margarita(I should have asked for the price first!). I read all the reviews stating that the Fox Café is so expensive well it is, but what are those reviewers doing in South Beach anyway? My only negative was a waiter(not ours) joking with his table even though we or his table didn’t think he was funny, some people don’t know when they’ve lost the room.

Lured in by the 50% off they offered, a free shot, and 2 for 1 drinks. We sit down, and I ask to confirm prices, and the discount, and they told us, no — the hostess said 20% off. Really? My friends decided to stay. If it were up to me, I wouldn’t have. Don’t get me tos it down with a 50% offer and then reneg. Food like any other place on SoBe. Bad with service equally bad. We did do justice to the 2-for-1 drinks though, as each of us had both our drinks. I have to say, sitting there with a really large drink, even if it’s $ 11, is not a really pleasant experience. It’s overwhelming, trying to finish the drink, cause it feels like there’s never an end to it.

I came here a couple of times for breakfast and really liked it. They always had a breakfast special for $ 4.99. Eggs Benedict, which I had and was good, buttermilk pancakes, french toast, eggs etc the usual breakfast stuff. The seating is nice, especially on the balcony and with great views of people walking on Ocean Drive and the beach. The wait staff were super friendly and they also had a football game going on inside on the T.V. which was propped up inside the window for those who wanted to see it from outside. The thing to remember here is even though the breakfast is cheap, if you order a mimosa for example, it’s super expensive and all the other drinks were expensive, OJ, Curtado etc. I would definitely come back if I’m in South Beach again.

We were hungry and looked for some quick eats, then we pass by this café. We ordered fried calamari, fettuccine salmon, & a Cal Pizza. The calamari was good but very oily and the portion was really small. The fettuccine was good, and the pizza had too much cheese that I had a hard time finding the ham & mushroom in it, but the crust was super soft & tasty! The water there somehow tasted like… plastic! The service was good.

A restaurant centered on Ocean Drive, this is perfect for the tourists walking about in the area. If you’re looking for a bite to eat along the beach, and willing to spend a bit more, this is a great place to stop by. I see a lot of complaints about Fox Café concerning their drinks. I honestly don’t see the problem. If you go to any of the nearby booze places(see: all of South Beach from what I saw on my vacation — I’m sure a local could point out the cheaper spots), it’s going to cost you $ 20 for two weak drinks. Nightclub, bar, restaurant; nothing cheaper than $ 20 for two weak drinks. Here, you get a flashy large drink, $ 25 each(but, of course, it’s two for one, so two for $ 25). I read a lot of comments about how they’re weak… I went to Fox Café twice, and both times the drinks were puh-LENTY strong. Strong enough that two of us got tipsy on two drinks. And I’m not a weak drinker. Maybe I got lucky and got a good bartender. The first night, we stopped by for a late-night snack and drinks before going to a nightclub. Two drinks and a plate of calamari later(20% off), we walked away with a pretty light receipt. They do let you split the buy-one-get-one between two people, so you don’t need to buy 2 drinks per person to get the deal, as was previously suggested here. Ran into that problem at a different restaurant, but not here. We had a good enough experience that we returned here another night for some dinner. Seafood paella, with lobster tail added on top. Added a fish-of-the-day dish(with three giant crab legs), to split between 3 people. Filling, delicious, and perfectly cooked. Not to mention the wait staff wasn’t just good, but amazing. Don’t complain about this place being over-priced, or being a tourist trap. You’re on the beach. You have amazing(and fresh) food. You have amazing service. You can’t expect to get all of that with a cheap price tag. Given the location, I say this restaurant is more than fair.

This place was so AWFUL i didn’t even think I’d find it on Unilocal.Thank God I’m not the only one who had the same experience. I was slowly melting away in the heatwave that is Miami all the while everyone around me was looking super in their neon pink bikinis(cough thongs cough), perfectly coiffed hair, and loads of gold jewelry. Lord knows I needed a drink. So, without hesitation I simply fell into a chair at Fox Café. BIGMISTAKE. I’m thinking, cool, I’ll grab a cocktail maybe have a little snack. Can’t cost me more than $ 20 – 25? WRONG. When there are no prices on the drink list and the waiter comes to you with a Sex on the Beach that could fit a pond of koi fish inside I beg you to ask how much it will cost you before you sip it. What we ordered: 90 oz. Sex on the Beach Diet Coke Shrimp cocktail Small Caesar salad Bill? $ 72DOLLARS!!! FML.

This place is a tourist trap for sure. thanks to Unilocal i already knew this, so why did i go? The gf insisted on eating on ocean even though i warned against it. I knew this place had the monstrousity known as a large mojito. They gave us a 2×1 drink deal, which is where you can stick it back to the man and this place becomes A-OK. Because the mojito is about 30 bucks for one, its at an unfair price. It is however a fair price when you get 2 for 1 because the size of 1 equals maybe 2 mojitos so 2 equals 4 which coming out to 30 bucks is a good deal. Can you do the math? Oh btw the food sucks like most South Beach ocean drive places.

We were told 3 times walking by this place that they offer 50% off food and 2-for-1 drinks, so we decided to give it a shot for lunch. Our server also told us about those 2 specials. It sounded like a good deal! When the check comes, only the food offer is included. Our server tells us you can only do ONE of the offers, not both, which we were never told. We argued with him, but he wouldn’t budge on it, would not allow us to speak with any kind of manager, and was pretty damn rude about it. By the way, the regular size margarita here? $ 19! NINETEENFREAKINGDOLLARS for ONE drink. Yes, there is fine-print on a sign they have that«offers cannot be combined», but guess what! We never saw the sign. We went there based on what we were told multiple times. Their sign doesn’t matter. We removed $ 10 of the automatically-added 17% gratuity. I checked our credit card today– and they did NOT take off what we subtracted. So we have been overcharged $ 10. I just called them to have that fixed– I spoke with a lady who barely spoke English, who told me to «call back later». So I guess I’ll be contacting American Express directly to get this resolved. I don’t know if all the restaurants along that area are the same way, but avoid this one for sure!

Like many of the other restaurants on Ocean Drive, Fox Café offers outside seating for people watching, and all sorts of «half off» deals. Keep in mind a few catches about this place(the main reasons for the 3 instead of 4 stars): — They charge 17% gratuity, regardless of party size. They allow for you to add or deduct tip as you see fit. — No drink refills — Half off deal ONLY applies to items on their menus, NOT for the special menu items(the ones they have on display) Despite the incredibly cramped seating and the questionable restaurant policies, the food was decent. The she-crab soup was decadent, and the paellas surprisingly come out looking and tasting like the one they have on display(see uploaded pictures). The lobster ravioli and the chilean sea bass were pretty decent. The couple next to us(since they were sitting incredibly close to us) commented that they also loved their paella, and their seafood pasta was«just perfect.»

After checking into our hotel, we were starving, so we stopped at Fox Café. There was a special where all food items on the menu were ½ off. Thinking we stumbled upon an incredible deal, we were seated outside – perfect people watching spot. We started with mojitos – there were more flavors here than anywhere I’ve ever been! I had the lemon, small. My friends had strawberry and raspberry. large. They were incredible. We ordered fried calamari and a four cheese pizza. We were served bread with the meal, but it was cold. Our food took a while to come out. The calamari was really good, but the pizza was oily. Filling, but oily. Thinking we had a GREAT deal, we get the check. Um $ 95 bucks for drinks and half off appetizers? For 3 of us? Unreal! The drinks were, no joke, $ 15 and $ 23, respective of size. Yeah, where is that listed on the menu? And gratuity is included. Be careful – I think this is a trick all the restaurants pull. As we walked down Ocean drive, we saw many cafes offering half off specials.
