Café Bistro

I’ve been on a Café Bistro binge these past few months. Any excuse I get, I make it a point to go there. The food is amazing and so fresh. Its very Nordstrom, with quality and service being top priority. I’ve tried the goat cheese chicken panini, a rope vieja grilled cheese that was beyond words good, and the shrimp salad. All have been exquisite. I highly recommend this little bistro. The food here will make you forget all the $$ you just spent!

I love Café Bistro! The food here is so good and they use good quality ingredients. You order at the cashier by the entrance and then sit at a table or the bar. A waiter/​waitress then brings you the drinks and the food when it’s ready.
Today we had the Mediterranean hummus appetizer, the sauteed chicken & angel hair pasta, and the cilantro lime shrimp salad.
The hummus appetizer was served with warm pita bread triangles, a few chick peas, good quality olives and cheese. Yummy! We even asked for more bread so that we could finish every last drop of hummus.
My husband loved the salad! I loved the shrimp that was in the salad! We both loved the angel hair pasta! The rosemary beurre blanc sauce is divine! Next time I’m going to ask them to make it without the tomato sauce and only with the rosemary beurre blanc sauce. It was delicious! Our waitress, Alexis, said that they would do it for me and still add the spinach and the mushrooms to the sauce. I am so glad that I ordered it because I always order the blue cheese and pear salad with shrimp! This is another special order because the salad doesn’t normally come with shrimp.
For dessert we had the bread pudding! Warm, melt in your mouth bread pudding with a condensed milk sauce, raspberry sauce, raspberries and fresh whipped cream! My husband says it’s his favorite dessert! It really is good and I don’t even like condensed milk!
We ordered a cheese pizza to go. They have a coal fired oven so the pizza is pretty good too!
When they bring you the bill, they also bring you a chocolate mint stick. It’s a nice end of dinner treat! If you’ve never tried Café Bistro, stop by for lunch or dinner. It’s really, really good and it’s a nice get away from mall food.

I came with my mom and there was a line waiting to be seated. However, the host came by several times to ask if there was anything that she could do to help us.
At one point, she came with a sample of the house soups which it was delicious. Once we were at our table we were helped by a nice man who tailored our request to accommodate my guest who was running late.

Love this place. The sandwiches are great, the pizzas are delicious and they have the best onion soup. Not a huge fan of their salads but then again I feel like this place caters more towards comfort food. Oh and their bread budding is off the chain! It was actually my first time having bread budding here and I’ve had it at 3 different restaurants since then and unfortunately none have lived up to the bistros. Didn’t give it 5 stars because service is inconsistent at times, sometimes it’ll be great other times it’s slow. My friend came with her service dog once and the waitress was scared of it and although I understand people have fears her body language made me uncomfortable. She did the best she could but you can tell she didn’t want to be near the dog and I think the best thing you can do in this situation is probably just ask a server to switch with you. Overall it wasn’t a big deal and would definitely be back next time I’m shopping at Dadeland Mall.

Café Bistro is an oddity because it is located inside of a Nordstrom department store, but I would still classify it as a Hole-​in-​the-​wall. I say this because I have never actually visited this Nordstrom and was having difficulty locating the restaurant. As a matter of fact, I actually had to ask one of the employees in the perfume section where it was located. So here I go up to the second floor not knowing what to expect.
The process of ordering a meal from Café Bistro is a little confusing but after observing the other patrons, I figured out that you grab a menu from the stand, walk up to the cashier and place your order. You then grab a seat and wait for delivery of your meal.
I chose the BISTRO FLAT IRON STEAK FRITES — a 10 ounce flat iron steak prepared to your specification, herb butter, organic arugula salad, bistro french fries with kalamata olive aïoli. $ 19.75
It was heavenly, the meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the french fries are now considered some of my favorite ones in Miami. I’m not much of a salad person but the organic arugula salad was surprisingly satisfying. I was also pleased to see that the menu included the calorie counts of each item. (FYI mine was 1339)
It wasn’t a bad experience at all. I did however decide to take away one star because of the awkwardness that occurred when it came time to leave a tip. We asked our waitress how we could leave tip if we didn’t have cash. Apparently you need to make the cashier line again and I guess they run your card again to charge for tip. I really don’t know how the process works because i just didn’t have the time to wait for the four people in line to place an order just so I could leave a tip.

I am mad at myself. Furious. Beyond livid. I cannot believe it has taken me THIS LONG to visit Nordstrom Café Bistro. It’s so hidden, I almost missed it. Upstairs. Tucked away like the hidden gem it be. Away from all the mall madness. It was amazing. My friend had the Prime Rib French Dip sandwich with fries. The kalamata olive aioli dip was to die for! I had the Angel Hair Pasta with Sautéed Chicken which was good but that sandwich was fire! I know what I’m ordering next time. I was really impressed. Now I have to make up for lost time and visit until I’ve tried everything on the menu. Hashtag goals!

What I love of the Bistro… the most is that they treat you like a princess even if you go just for a glass of water .the place is clean and delicious… the food rarely disappointed. .everything is done right. .the soup of the day was outstanding. serves always so nice. .love this place..

Oh Café Bistro how I love you so! I love how your food is consistently delicious and I appreciate the caliber of your cuisine amidst the casual, welcoming bistro atmosphere. Everything on the menu is amazing but of course I have my favorites:
*Crab Bisque– rich and delicious
*The French fries are to die for
*Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad is perfection
*Chicken and angel hair pasta entrée is
’plate licking good’
**And you cannot leave without having the BREAD PUDDING dessert**
I didn’t even think I liked bread pudding before having it here, it is probably the best dessert you will have anywhere.
Who knew a bistro inside of a Nordstrom could be so addictive and amazing but it is!

Its ok. Nothing to rave about. I prefer a sit down meal with a waiter that takes my order

This chic little café has some damn good food. The French onion soup is probably the best I’ve ever had (just look at my picture, it’s perfection). I’ve tried a few other different things here and everything was great but the most memorable was the club sandwich. A club sandwich sounds so ordinary but they manage to make it spectacular (I think it’s the incredible bacon they use). I constantly find myself craving a Bistro club sandwich. So good!
Service is absolutely excellent and they pay really close attention to detail here. One time I sat at the counter, and I noticed the manager would inspect every single dish before it went out to the customer to make sure it was perfect. If it wasn’t, he would have them make a new dish. That attention to detail really blew me away.
It’s a little pricey but it’s definitely a quality place. Well done, Café Bistro. Well done.

This place is another reason Nordstrom is the best place to shop, ever! The food and interior is consistent across all the Nordstroms in the country, reminds me of a toned-​down Cheesecake Factory. Definitely stop by when you’re in a mall with a Nordstrom, refuel and continue shopping! Heck, I would come here just for a quick bite/​lunch/​linner/​dinner, you name it.
It truly captures the spirit of a bistro, everything is fresh and no-​fuss. There’s something to satisfy everyone– pizza, burger, fries, salad, coffee, soup, etc. This is one of the few places I actually order a salad for my main, as the portions are substantial and filling. My go-​to is the salmon Niçoise salad, it is so good and you feel satisfied afterwards, without the guilt that comes with eating greasy mall food (though I still love my mall food court fare).

This place is yummylicious the food was really good and I will definitely come back now the only reason that I didn’t give it the full 5 stars and I know the restaurant doesn’t have complete control is because our server wasn’t that great my boyfriend had to get up to get me a spoon the one that came with my soup was dirty then I needed napkins and also we had to get them luckily they were right in back of our table he just wasn’t that great which made the experience a bit bland

I have never had a dish that I don’t like. The tomato jam jar is a delicious addition to the menu and I always try a sample of the soup du jour. the only complaint I have is the wait. They don’t take your order until thy have seating available and it isn’t a large place so sometimes the wait can be 30 minutes. The service is excellent. The customer is always right and I love that I can see the kitchen. If you are crunched for time and there are seats at the bar, I suggest you sit there. It doesn’t take away from the atmosphere. But if you are with more than one person it makes conversation awkward. They have a seasonal menu that is only available for a short time, so try it while you can. If we notice that the line is too long we always place an order to go and take it to the E-​Bar downstairs for seating. Once school starts again, seating is less of an issue and we will be there more often.

awesome for a quick bite while shopping. however, don’t expect it to actually be «quick.» weekdays during lunch time, or any time on weekends, expect a wait — even if you get a table right away, you’ll probably have to wait a good while for your food. However, the food rarely disappoints (see 4 stars above). The cilantro lime and shrimp salad is amazing (try it with warm steak or chicken). Steak sandwich, Goat cheese panini, and white chocolate bread pudding are AMAZING. they use organic produce, which is nice.

Wow! I’m impressed! Despite having a friend that worked here for 2 years, I never tried the food until today. This is pretty Damn Good!
I ordered the Salmon Nicoise Salad without potatoes and my friend and I shared the Bread Pudding for dessert.
The salad was excellent! Salmon was way better tasting than I expected for department store eatery; and not overcooked. I would have thought I ordered it at some swanky bistro in Coral Gables. Not stingy with the salad ingredients but not overloaded either. Just enough dressing for my taste too.
The Bread pudding was pretty good. I’m not a bread pudding fan but my friend absolutely loves it so I decided to try. It was tasty. Not the best; not the worst; but nothing to write home about.
The service was outstanding. A lovely young lady offered us soup samples while we waited in line to place our order. The manager was really diligent about getting us a table and waiter was super friendly and attentive.
The prices are what you’d expect for a swanky bistro (about $ 15 for the Salmon Nicoise) but the flavor and freshness are up to par!
Would definitely like to return and sample more of their menu!

Over the years, I have tried several dishes. Back in the day, I used to order the turkey avo sandwich and loved it. Since I no longer eat meats, I now order the risotto (such a difficult dish to pull off and theirs is perfect)!
Last night I went for the shrimp salad, best salad I have EVER tried.
You just cannot go wrong with eating here, all dishes are to die for. Soups too.

To put it simply.
Is there anything bad that comes out of nordstrom? — No, duh!
The food form café bistro is always quick, fresh and delicious. I love that the kitchen is open and you can see the cooks working.
Citrus turkey, crab bisque, french onion soup and cilantro shrimp salad are delish! As is the new menu item of ricotta with pesto and tomato jam.

This place is good for a quick bite. It has good sandwiches. But I mostly good there for their bread pudding. It is awesome.

I’ve been coming to Nordstrom’s Bistro for a few years now, usually the Dadeland and Merrick Park locations. While the food is great, I personally LOVE the Kalamata Olive Aioli dip they serve with their fries. It’s like crack. You can order whatever you want off the menu and chances are you won’t be disappointed. but give me that damn dip. Our food will come out and 100& of the time we’ll always have the fries/​dip before we even touch anything else on the plate.
It does tend to get a little pricey, but it’s a restaurant within Nordstrom so I think you should kind of expect that.

So the reviewers are not exaggerating when they say these are the greatest sandwiches and salads. OMG this was a perfect lunch. From start to finish it was a perfect experience. There is usually a line, but it goes by fast because it is organized in such a way that you order and pay before being seated so by the time you are seated the order has been placed and by the time you finish you can just get up and go no waiting for your check. So let me start by saying that the Shrimp Salad is one of the best salads I have ever tasted. The salad is crisp and has the most refreshing citrusy dressing. The citrus Turkey Sandwich and the Club Turkey were amazing. I actually couldn’t decide so my coworker traded halves so we can taste both. I can tell you I almost wanted her to forget we had made this arrangement because I did not think that her sandwich could top mine, but to my surprise it was equally as delicious. I am not a French fries person, but the French fries were perfectly cooked and were topped off with fresh garlicky parsley, yummy. So as if it couldn’t get any better I was told that there was an unblelievable bread pudding which I had to try, but I was alarmed that it was not on the menu so I luckily asked and they did have, but it must be some type of hidden secret which only if you read reviews or if someone makes you aware this is you will miss out. The bread pudding has a crunchy caramelized crust and soft center. The sauce is white chocolate and drizzles of raspberry. I loved it as well as everything else we had. We made a promise that we needed to come once a month and splurge on this great place which you would never imagine would be in a department store.

This bistro is usually my go-​to spot when I’m in Dadeland Mall. No matter what I’m craving, I know I can find something to satisfy me on their menu.
My favorite items to order are a toss up between the pizza and the shrimp lime cilantro salad. Okay, never mind, the best thing is the shrimp lime cilantro salad! I am not a salad person, but whatever dressing they use in this is amazing! I have never left one thing on my late when I’ve ordered it! Soooo good! The pizza is definitely my back up plan when it’s a cheat day.
Other items yummy items I have ordered are the bistro club, the crab bisque, and finally… the white chocolate raspberry bread pudding! Yumm! I have never left here finally unsatisfied.
The only reason I knocked down a star was due to the service. Lately, it’s been a real hit or miss. Since I’ve been a repeat customer for well over a year now, I’ve noticed how the service has been on a decline. I’ve asked for water, to be told that my server will get to me when they have a chance, and I’ve sat around waiting to be greeted for over 5 mins (on a non-​busy day), only to see the servers chit-​chatting around the bar area.
If the servers were to get their act together, I’d definitley give this place 5 stars!

The place itself reminds me of a smaller version of a Cheesecake Factory restaurant in the way it’s decorated. As far as the menu goes it has a small variety of salads, soups, pizzas and sandwiches!
My son shared a steak sandwich which was plenty of food for each if us. They came with a mountain of very tasty fries! They were so good! A little burst salty for my taste but pretty good!
I love coming here with my son because after all, he’s the one that brings it up, and I think it’s really cute! I love Nordstrom as it is so this is just another excuse to come into the store!
