Typical Cuban spot. Comida Rapida, tasty, and a serving that’s for one person at $ 9 that you can share with two others. I really like this place because it is very open. They have homemade ice cream plus natural freshly made juices. Thumbs up to no sugar added in the juices. I like the customer service at this place. It’s not too crowded just yet which I enjoy. I do not like that the food tastes old by 7p. The chicken breast is either over cooked or under Cooked, it’s a little hard to chew on. All in all its not bad food and for the price it’s even better. The ice cream shop is super cute they even have some games. Ice cream is ok. Juices are great.

I had high hopes for this place when it recently opened. It’s hot behind the counter I understand that, imo, the fan being used to keep the counter help cool is drying out the food. On two occasions now our food has been overly dried and just 2 days ago the rice was way over seasoned. They tried to charge me 23 bux for a plate of food and a tamale. When I questioned that, she recalculated and said it’s 13.75 with no apology. I don’t plan on going back there. The ice cream is very good though…

That ice cream though… Tried El Coco Loco’s ice cream(a few times!) at the Unilocal Culinary Carnival and I just HAD to come to their place to have some more! Came here on a Thursday night with my boyfriend and his family. I ordered the nutella ice cream which has soft oreo chunks in it. The ice cream is sooo creamy and very rich! It is hands down my favorite ice cream in Miami. I’ve also had their chocolate which is just as creamy and rich. Not sure how they do it, but it’s delicious! The ice cream is definitely 5-star. My only issue was that this night, the service we received was 1-star! We were never welcomed, never given a smile, and the employee seemed very much obviously annoyed every time we asked to sample a flavor and every time we asked her a question. It boiled my blood; I almost felt like telling her something, but I remained quiet. Very rude service. One day, I’ll come back to try other food. Woo, I’m loving El Coco Loco!

Always check Unilocal when on vacation. Found El Coco Loco and the reviews were very good. Wonderful find! We are from Ohio and eager to try new foods. Cafeteria style with outside seating in Florida. Wow! and delicious! Lots and lots of Latin dishes to choose from.(See photos for menus and prices.). Newer and clean. We chose the sea bass with two sides – Beans and rice. Yellow squash. Fried plantains. Mixed veggies. The lemon sauce on the fish was so good. For dessert we had rice pudding – creamy and sweet, and one that looked like crumbled fried plantains with honey. The servers spoke English, but couldn’t tell us what the crumbly dessert was except it was sweet. Tasted okay. Just different. Can do take out. Great venue for kids.

I wish I would have left enough space to try their ice cream but the portions here are huge! It is a cute little roadside cafeteria with an ice cream shop next door. They have plenty of options available: yuca, chicken breast, tostones, congri(my fav), fish, etc. I went on a Saturday afternoon and there was plenty of shaded seating available. I had the congri, yuca and chicken breast. The congri was really good, not as greasy as other places in Miami tend to sell it. The chicken breast was decent sized and the yuca was soft and had a good flavor to it. They also have a list of natural juices available that they make for you right then and there. My favorite part of El Coco Loco is that they have sugar free and low carb options, perfect for when you want to get in your Cuban meal fix but don’t want to break the sugar/carb bank.

This is not your average Outdoor Cuban Pigfest. The food was high on quality and served freshly tasty for what it is. It did not leave you with that«its been sitting out here all day taste». I would definitely stop by again when in the mood for some fast Cuban cuisine.

Impeccable clean, friendly staff, convenient, nice twist to the buffet style(palacio de los jugos wanna be) place. I didn’t get a chance to try the food but everything looked good and smelled great. I went specifically to try out their ice cream shop. I had the Guava and the Coco Pelao and they were absolutely delicious, great portion and good pricing. Will definitely go back soon.

I have driven by this a place several times and told myself that I needed to try it. So after several months, we finally did! This place is similar to Palacio but I found it to be way better! First of all, the place is spotless! They have the regular food by the pound type food. You can get a «completa»(a protein plus 2 sides) for $ 7-$ 16, depending on what protein you choose. They also grill churrasco or fish to order. The portions are HUGE! One completa can easily feed 2. They also have an area for made to order sandwiches and fresh fruit juices. Then there is the ice cream. Seriously delicious ice cream. I had the flan ice cream and my husband had guava & cream cheese. Both flavors were crazy good. Ok, I got distracted by dessert. Like always. For my meal, I had the Ropa Vieja with Moros and Maduros. My husband had the churrasco with congri & tostones. Everything was delicious! And of course, we had tons of leftovers. Live & learn. Oh, BTW, I had the ropa vieja the next day. On Hawaiian rolls. Oh ma gaaaaawd! Sweet baby Jesus, that was ah-mazing! The folks that work here were friendly and the girl serving us even spoke English! So yeah, clean place, friendly folks, and great eats! We have found our new favorite quick service place.

I love the quick cafeteria style that you can grab your food to go. There are plenty of benches(outside seating) if you want to eat it there. It’s starting to warm up, so I don’t know how pleasant it’ll be in the summer, but it’s nice every time I’ve dropped by to pick up food. There are tons of fans, so it’s prob ok. The prices are good, they give you big portions and the food is good. There are also many menu items to choose from… plus daily specials. I haven’t tried their ice cream yet, but I hear they make Cuban style«mantecado!» I haven’t tried their breakfast platters, but did go by the other day for some pastelitos, croquetas, and café con leches… all good!

Cafeteria style delicious eats with an ice cream section that offers a multitude of tropical flavors including guanabana and their house version of coconut which is to die for. It is outdoor seating and has a clean and open feel to it. A new hotspot to continue to check out, will be visiting in the future to try their hot foods including their Sunday daily special of paella.

This place is on one of my favorite Miami streets, Bird Road. And on a nice day there is nothing better than sitting outside and enjoying a nice Café Con Leche or Cortadito with a Cuban sandwich and some pastries. Always friendly and always trying to help me order because I don’t speak spanish the staff is very understanding and helpful. I keep coming back day or night because this place is good for breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Dessert. You name it I say go to El Coco Loco for it. Very Large selection but I keep getting sandwiches, because I love sandwiches and they make good sandwiches. So get a sandwich.

I’ve passed this place so many times, not knowing what it was or what to expect. But I looked it up on Unilocal and saw how they had so many food options, I had to check it out. I got a Elena Ruz, which I’ve only really eaten when I make myself one at home, and it was so good! Cream cheese + turkey + strawberry jelly = a heavenly sandwich. They have so many sandwiches, desserts, juices, pastries, and even hot meals that you can take to go or eat there. And the food and drinks are all reasonably priced for the amount of food they give you. Definitely well worth a stop at this hidden gem, even though it’s out in the open and noticeable! I never really noticed it till this week, but glad I finally did.

My first time here… I’ll probably be back. The portions are large and pretty tasty… Typical latin food but tasty and good for a quick bite. The ice cream is yummy. I had the flan ice cream. This is a dinner and dessert one stop shop. They have sandwiches and coffee which I’ll have to try another time.

I live right next door to this this spot and I couldn’t be more thrilled. I’ve already eaten here twice in one week, the breakfast was good! I love that they have egg white to serve. Their juices taste fresh and their pastelitos are better than some of the other locations right around the area. I was able to get two servings of eggs, toast, pastelitos, and two juices all for under $ 20. You can’t beat that. For what they are, it’s great. Clean, well priced, and convenient.

El Coco Loco has tasty Latin food and sandwiches. The ice cream is homemade with real fruit and is easily the best ice cream I have had in Miami. They have some creative flavors like Flan that you can’t find anywhere else, and the ice cream chef mentioned that new creative flavors were being formulated. The place is refreshingly clean and has a comfortable casual outdoor atmosphere. The Ropa Vieja and Pan con Bistec are delicious and flavorful, and I am looking forward to trying some of the other great-looking food. I will definitely be returning on a regular basis.

Yummy yummy and large portions! Live nearby and have gone several times. Ropa vieja delish!!! Lemonade was refreshing and ice creams were also amazing. My husband, daughter and I tried galletazo(kind of like cookies and cream), peanut butter and chocolate. They were all amazing. Nice to sit in picnic tables outside in a casual setting and enjoy some good food. Easy parking too!
