Taco Rico

Taco Rico works for what it’s trying to accomplish. It’s tex mex — so your expectations have to be kind of low. The best part about this place is the variety of salsa’s available and the delicious fresh nachos. I ordered chicken tacos. and unfortunately wasn’t very impressed by them. My little sister ordered the taco bowl, and she said it was pretty good. But I don’t really believe her because she ate half of it and threw the rest of way. If you’re looking for a quick, sloppy meal without the indigenous Mexican flavors… sure, go ahead and hit up Taco Rico. But if you’re wanting the real deal, opt for a more legit authentic restaurant.

So I’m giving this place 2 stars because the food was whatever, wasn’t good but wasn’t disgusting either. We order the jalapeño poppers, chicken Tacos, and churassco Platter, and a tortilla Soup. The jalapeño poppers were cold and the cheese wasn’t melted enough. The chicken Tacos were super DRY, the churassco was well seasoned was the best thing we ordered, but the rice and re fried beans were salty. The fried ICE CREAM WAS AMAZING … THE TORTILLA SOUP TASTED LIKE SALSa = disgusting ! The girl in the front was extremely rude.

Good source of quick Mexican fast food if you’re looking for some slightly more real Mexican cuisine. Rid your pallet of Taco Bell or chipotle and indulge a bit in their decently made chicken quesadillas. Sides of sauces are pretty up there on tasteville. I must say the rice was kind of bland. Serving of rice and beans quite use a spoon or two more. Tacos are well let’s just say I’ll be going back to this place.

Disclaimer: we love the Taco Rico on US1 in Pinecrest, so I’m hoping our experience at this new location is a fluke.
The counter staff couldn’t have been more disinterested in service. That should have been a red flag to start with.
Three of us ordered. Two entrees came out, the third was forgotten. I have them some time then went and asked. They didn’t seem to know anything about the missing order so told the cooks to make a new one.
The plate finally came out a few minutes later and the pork was cold. I’m not talking «not warm» cold, I’m talking «just pulled out of the fridge» cold. So back it went.
Again, the staff didn’t seem too concerned. About that time someone who must have been the manager or owner showed up (fresh from the gym perhaps?) shorts and an old t-​shirt and started wandering around the kitchen. He looked at me a couple of times like «why are you just standing at the counter» but never asked why. The kitchen staff snapped to attention and got busy while he was there and finally got my tacos cranked out.
Good food once it arrived and wasn’t cold, but there are some serious service issues that need to be addressed. The wait staff and lack of concern made it feel more like walking into a high school after-​school youth center than a restaurant.
Added a second star because the food that was delivered was good once it was correct, but way too much effort.

I’ve been a fan of this place for years, so imagine my excitement when I saw a new location open up in my hood.
I’ve been there several times now and have always had a great experience.
You get free chips worth your order and there’s a nice selection of fresh salsa to choose from.
During weekday lunch hours it can get crowded, but you can avoid that by ordering ahead for pickup, or just order for delivery and avoid having to leave your house or office all together.
The quesadillas and fajitas are delicious. My favorite is the fajita salad (minus sour cream and cheese).

Decided to try this place out and very happy I did. I only rated 4 stars because the parking was no good and it was packed also not the cheapest place unless you go for lunch. Ok now to the food great taste not authentic Mexican cuisine but very tasty. Contraband not overly spiced the Pico de gayo gets two thumbs up from me. The portions were well sized and I left feeling full. Even though the place was packed it was not a long wait for the food and great professional service. Go give it a try!

Save your money and go some where else! The only thing decent here was the chips and queso but the food wasn’t good at all. The chicken and steak were so dry and the pork tasted weird… Definitely won’t be going back here. So many other better tacos places then this!

So happy this place opened up near my house. I have followed this place from south Miami and now in Kendall. Love the homemade Pico de Gallo. Always busy and service is great. If you like salads you will love the fajita salad. My husband and I enjoy the fajitas for two. Can’t go wrong with service, price, and taste!

The real story of how I found this place: My boyfriend and I wanted to go on a date and then we remember we were poor.
The prices were unbeatable for a Saturday night date. We both ate for $ 15! The service was okay, nothing really stood out. We ordered some chicken nachos which were yummy. I ordered a chicken quesadilla which although large, left me wanting more (not literally). I have honestly had a better quesadilla at On The Border…
All in all, this is a great place to fill up and save some money. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for some delicious cuisine… very mediocre taste-​wise.

I went for the first time on a Monday which happened to be taco night (99 cents) for tacos. I had the chicken and the beef tacos. In my opinion the beef one was way more delicious that the chicken one. They also give you free chips when you order :) I’ll definitely come back and try other things since they have bowls, burritos, quesadillas and much more!

I feel like once you discover taco rico you cannot stop yourself from coming back for more. The burritos are massive and a very good deal for the amount of food you get

It’s cool cause they give you free chips to hold you off till the food arrives.
I’m not a big fan of Mexican food (my review is totally independent this) and I was hoping that their food was good enough that it’ll change my mind, or at least make me wanna come back.
I’m not a big fan of this place actually. But that’s mostly on my tastes.
The place is pretty small, but usually yummy places are hidden in little books and crannies that we never knew, right??!
The staff are incredibly nice though! Making sure that the customers are satisfied with the food and their experience (so that’s not even an issue. If I could give a review solely based on their kindness it would be a five)
But, in all honestly, it’s nothing that sticks out to me and would make me want to come back.
Maybe if I loved Mexican food I would come back, but I can’t really say for now.
There are other Mexican places (that even if I don’t really fancy Mexican dishes) that make me wanna come back, and unfortunately, this isn’t one of them.
THREE STARS because the food was delicious, just didn’t stand out for me, and wasn’t the best Mexican food I’ve had.

Overall experience was great, bur the food didn’t have a distinct taste that would make it memorable.

I ordered from the office and it was delivered fast and hot. I ordered the quesadilla lunch platter and it was good. The guacamole was delicious! Definitely ordering again!

Love this location because it’s so close to my house. The staff is awesome including the manager who always takes care of us. There’s a girl with short hair that works here who is absolutely beautiful. I always get the veggie fajitas, they are amazing and guilt free.

Fast, convenient, good tasting food. I like being able to take out or eat in. Looking forward to tasting their home made tortilla soup. Decent prices and portions. I would’ve given 5 stars if the food overall had more sazon.

Fantastic service! Manager is on point and makes rounds checking on satisfaction of customers. Food comes out super quick and is very hot which is a plus. There are many options to chose from. Everything I have ordered here is delicious. I’ve been to many tex mex locations as we love their food. This one is a great location and the service is great. Also, conveniently just opened around the corner from my house. Can’t go wrong. You won’t break your wallet for a good meal!

Ordered pick up steak tacos. Everything was delicious and fresh! The portions were perfect, not too much, not too little. Will definitely be having lunch there much more often!
