Zoom Tan

Called the toll free number this day and they told me «oh yes we have had other phone calls». Assured me that they would be implementing a better system during specials so members don’t have to wait so long. I wound up waiting 1 hour on this day. Went back today, Jan 5 and asked the front desk girl if she had heard anything about any new policy concerning members on specials days. The answer was no, so I called the toll free number again and they told me basically that I should avoid the days they are running the specials, since I can come «anytime». Wow really? The day I had to wait for an hour they had a special on Tuesday and Thursday and closed Friday for holiday. Also told that they run these specials to help increase revenue because their member prices are sooo low, yeah right! I cannot wait until someone opens up some competition for them! I will pay more to someone else if they made me feel like a valued customer. They are literally the only game south of coral gables, they know they can deal with their customers however they want!

I really love the quality of the sunless tan machine they have here. Ive gone to other tanning salons and are not happy with the results because i come out orange. I usually don’t need a tan unless it is required for an upcoming job I get. But I usually stick with the light spray and you get darker as the hours go by. It leaves a perfect glow to my skin. I am very happy with the results here. This zoom tan location is quite clean and the staff was nice. I will most likely come back here next time I need a tan.

It’s a shame all of the tanning salons in the area have closed (because of the C-​word and all those other small details). This leaves us with chains that can do what they want. Zoom tan charges a ridiculous amount for a tan. $ 2 a minute. Yes, you read that right. You just came in for a quick first-​time tan? Not only can you not go for more than 6 minutes, but you have to pay $ 12 for it. 10 minutes is $ 20. Madness. Their beds are stand-​up, which give nice even color, no crispy asses. That’s nice.
The staff is friendly, and I’ve always found everything to be clean. But if you don’t want to be paying the ridiculous per-​minute prices, you pretty much have to get on a monthly contract with them. I believe the package I chose is $ 25 for unlimited sessions (I don’t go there nearly enough to warrant needing unlimited tanning), and I’m only allowed to go for up to 9 minutes at a time. It included a JWoww brand tanning lotion. I’m sure the costs come from corporate, and I feel a twinge of guilt leaving a kinda-​crappy review for this location in particular — but the public needs to know, dude.

I came here for sunless tanning. My first visit to this salon was 3 years prior. During the first visit, I was left to fend for myself against the spray tan machine. I left streaky and orange, and never came back. After hearing that ZoomTan had afforded completely new spray tan machines, I came back to give it another shot. Again, I was left to fend for myself with only an instructional video as my guide. I had to stand there trying to figure out the poses, and I was nervous. The machine was wet, which worries me as moisture is a breeding ground for bacteria and fungus. Post spray, it «cleans» itself by spraying water. It still doesn’t make me feel any more comfortable. The lobby was nice and clean, but the room and moisture situation in the machine left me skeptical. I rather spend a bit more and have someone hand spray me. Today, my hands are orange eventhough I followed their prep instructions. Not sure I’ll be coming back. What a shame.

While the day to day service is great, i tried to cancel my subscription over the phone and they customer service rep was everything but helpful. She would not email me a form to cancel and she would not take the only mailing address I have to snail mail me the cancellation form.
It’s pretty dissatisfying that they use fingerprint technology at the storefront but resort to snail mail for cancellations. Aren’t we in the 21^st century? Be careful if you are trying to cancel your monthly!

I know it’s a bit ridiculous to live in the sunshine state and review a tanning salon, but for a working girl tanning salons are a blessing! There’s nothing better than having a nice glowing tan that lasts a week and is perfectly even without having to bake in the sun for hours. That’s what you’ll get any time that you go to zoom tan. I love that it’s a 2 minute process because, like a said, i’m a working girl. This place has great service and if you give them your number they’ll text you periodically with fantastic deals. I’ve gone to one other tanning salon, and this place has the better prices. Don’t be scared, you won’t look like snooki! Just make sure to ask for the lowest level ;)
