This place should be ashamed to represent Argentinian food. I’m not even from Argentina and I know that they have much better food than this. They kind of try to imitate Brazilian rodizio style but they fail miserably! The meat is served on a huge grill and when the most expensive cuts are ready, they ring some sort of bell and everyone attacks the grill. soo tacky! Also, they try to attract people by offering a free bottle of cheap wine per person in your table. Moreover, their desserts are cafeteria-quality, and so is their salad bar items. I was forced to come here twice but now I can safely say that I will never return!

Well, where shall I begin? Maybe with the fact that I’m probably the only Argentinian in Miami that hasn’t visited The Knife until today. I went for lunch on a weekday and my party was one of only two in the entire large restaurant. The décor is typical argentine steakhouse; simple, rustic, wood. You pay $ 5 for parking but with validation you get your five back if you are there for less than 2 hours. Ok, now the food. Yes, that’s what it’s all about after all. Hmmm. Or rather, Meh. The salad bar is small but there are lots of goodies to choose from; lots of mayo-based salads, Caesar, leaf, spinach and all kinds of toppings. Some meat rolls(matambre), seafood salad, pickled muscles, etc. Etc. The meat selection included different cuts of beef, pork, sausages, and chicken. They had this yummy chicken roll stuffed with sausage and wrapped in bacon(the best thing in the house and that’s not a good thing: this IS a steakhouse afterall). To the table, servers bring your drinks, sodas, wine, beer(all inclusive). You also get sides like mash, rice and big fat fries brought to the table. Truly, a great selection of foods. So why 3 stars? Everything(except the chicken) just tasted a bit off. The meat was tasty but most cuts were too chewy and fat-laden. The price also includes 18 different deserts but you can only pick one. I had panqueques con Dulce de leche(the ones I make are superior to these). I wasn’t impressed to be honest. I will return again on a weekend night since I suspect everything will be fresher. I hope so because their prices are truly great(for lunch it was $ 16 without tip, I think dinner is like $ 25) for all you can eat buffet style.

As good as it gets for outstanding service for large parties! Ever since the demise of Lila’s on Bird Road(yea, I know it’s not a cuban vs argentinean thing), there is a sad lack of restaurants left in Miami where you can take a group larger than five, make reservations, and/or not wait hours with a noisy beeper. This restaurant is large and well staffed, no matter the hour. Their buffet and grill is briskly refreshed and bountiful at any time of the day. I’ve eaten here at least twelve times in three years. Consistently, not one single bad visit, with their outstanding manager and waiter/waitresses whenever you need anything at all. Though the view and balcony on this 2nd story restaurant is centrally down Main Hwy, park in the back lot accessed from Grand Av, and take the stairs or elevator from the courtyard. Ignore the 1.5 hours free parking promise and just pay the flat $ 5, because you will always want to eat just a bit longer than 1.5 hours on most visits. No matter the hour, pay for dinner, not lunch. Dinner gets you an entire bottle of wine, empanada appetizers and a choice of a dozen desserts, plus espresso to finish it off. This is not the best steak I’ve had in my life, but the salad bar is cruise ship worthy. It’s immense with party foods above and beyond simple salads, from sausages to chesses. It’s filled with puff pastry casseroles, homemade breads, deviled eggs, rolls of sandwiches stuffed like something your grandma did in the 1940s. Waldorf salad, terrines of lengua or sliced asparagus in egg. Several kinds of potato salads. Marinated italian eggplants, peppers, olives and what must locally made sun dried tomatoes. Some visits, it’s hard for a well done eater to get a variety, but no worries, it’ll soon be ready. The sausages are great. Ribs are smoky and nice without BBQ sauce. Make sure you stop by the grillmaster and get your plate of raclete melted cheese for your bread. There are four versions of chimmichurri, as well, in big punch bowls, so just help yourself, no rationing around the table. Waiters will bring you any starchy side you think of, but you need to get the hand cut fries so you can get a little chummichurri on them accidentally: P My favorite dessert is the dulce de leche stuffed crepes, because of the brulee crunch on top. If they have the zabaglione ice cream, get that too. Flan is equal to the best in town.

We’ve eaten at The Knife often. We can it the poor man’s Texas de Brazil. If you are on a budget, it’s a nice place to take out of town guests. For $ 30 a person a great value, considering you get salad, unlimited meat, a side dish, a bottle of wine, and dessert. For some reason, though, I don’t find the need to get stuffed with meat here, as I do in Texas de Brazil. Maybe because the meat here unseasoned, or not as tender or something. I can’t put my finger on it. I usually stick to the salad bar and the grilled veggies, maybe have a small piece of sausage or chicken breast. The salad bar isn’t very abundant or geared toward the vegetarian– about half of the selections are prepared mayonaisse based salad(potato salad, waldorf salad, coleslaw, ect). You honestly can’t beat the bang for the buck, but it’s not to die for, either

Haven’t yet had a meal here, so I can’t comment on the meat quality, etc., but the drinks and desserts here are amazing. Let me repeat. THEDESSERTSATTHEKNIFEINCOCONUTGROVEAREAMAZING. My boyfriend and our friend and I shared three different spectacular desserts and were tempted to try the entire dessert menu. We thought for sure the desserts and our drinks would make the bill out to be $ 40+ but it turned out the desserts were only $ 4 each! The chocolate flan is delicious. The caramel flan is delightful. Lemon sorbet in champagne cleanses the chocolate-y experience away. Everything is mouth-watering – our friend said she got chills. It’s not like we’ve never had sweet things before. Between the three of us, we’ve tried great food from all the major metropolitan cities, and hands down, The Knife has the best dessert ever.

It may not have been a good idea to go here having not eaten red meat for the last 3 weeks after my annual cleansing trip to Canyon Ranch. This place is all about red meat and its been a regular stop whenever I visit Miami. But this time was different. Don’t know if it was me or The Knife but this experience definitely wasn’t as tasty and satisfying as it has been in my past visits.

First time at a Latin American steakhouse and loved the experience. 33 different meats to choose from a fresh-smoky grill! The grill is separated in another room which is great so your clothes don’t drench with the smell. The meats ranging from steaks, pork, chicken, and sausage were tender and deliciously marinated. There were so many types of potato salad, veggie mixes, and cheeses. Quite an authentic Latin American cuisine with such a wide range of dishes. I was surprised to learn that this was a buffet since the set up was more upscale than a typical buffet. It’s also nice to have two inclusive bottles of red wine with our meal :)

Vegetarians Beware. The Knife is located on the second floor of the Cocowalk plaza. It’s a little tricky to get to(do not go down the sketchy alley) instead, walk past the shops in the plaza and the stairs lead straight to it. My party and I ate outdoors but the inside is pretty nice too, kind of like a log cabin with no fireplaces. The restaurant is buffet style. There’s a salad bar in the center(yeah right, like I’m really gonna get a salad at a steakhouse). The oysters(…or clams??) were very tasty. And right across from it is the piece de resistance: the grill. All you can eat steak, chicken, and sausages plus a bottle of wine per guest! Great food and great service. Not bad for $ 35. P. S. Bring stretchy pants!

This is definitely a go-to spot for me and my friends whenever we have a big group and something to celebrate! For a reasonable price you can get all you can eat food and decent food at that! Make sure that you ask for the extra sides, be it french fries to mashed potatoes, because they are not always super eager to bring it to you. Other than that, stand in line and get all the meat that you want. My favorites are their sausages and the pork with the date-type thing in the middle. One of the reasons i must call it a «date-type thing» would refer to the fact that the heavy-accented staff makes it hard to understand what they say– but in the end, the food tastes good! The salad bar is full with recognizable, along with not so recognizable things, but the great thing is is that you can try it all since you paid for it! The wine pours non-stop, giving you an even better excuse to keep eating and eating. If the price gets you down? Do what some of my dinner-guests did and bring tupperware. You can secretly fill it up while sitting at the table and have steak that lasts for weeks!

They raised their prices, and the meat quality is not worth the price. I’d rather spend more and go to Texas de Brazil. Or, just a local argentinian steakhouse with better meat.

Not what it used to be. Prices are higher and food seems to be suffering from post-recession stress syndrome. Top ew factors: bottled sangria, fatty meat, instant mashed potatoes that I actually swore to my niece were real(«they can’t possibly be fake, that would be an outrage»)… The chunchullo, which goes by many other names, was actually pretty decent though lukewarm — I love this cholesterol-tripling delicacy, but prefer that it be hot and kinda crunchy. Couldn’t convince my palate-passionate niece to try it, which was probably all for the best. The service was excellent. They were surprisingly empty for a Saturday afternoon, which may have been a factor. And they did fess up to using instant potatoes, which is a plus. Also, they let you take your dessert home if you’re too full to eat it, which is not generally seen in all-you-can-eat places. I used to love this place, maybe it just wasn’t their day, their week or their month. I do hope their food someday returns to to its original deliciousness.

I am not a huge fan of buffets because I usually dont eat a lot, but my husband and all my guy friends are fans of this restaurants. Be sure to go on a empty stomach, otherwise u will be overwhelmed by all the meat. I celebrated my graduation there last year. Had to make reservations ahead of time but had an awesome time. The staff is friendly and the food is really good. A bottle of wine per couple? can’t go wrong with that!

This is a good place to consume mass quantities of meat and have a beer at a reasonable price. The location of this place is pretty cool overlooking Coconut Grove and the atmosphere is pleasant. As with the majority of Miami you get a lot farther with the staff if you speak Spanish. They were nice enough to understand my pointing and grunting at the chunk of meat in which I was interested. To consume mass quantities at a reasonable price this may be your place but I’ve found much more flavorful food elsewhere in Miami.

Love this place! The meat is incredible, no matter what you get. This place beats Porcao hands down. The only thing that sucks is you have to stand up and go to the grill when you want more food.

Great price and you’re definitely stuffed by the time you leave, but i did get a little uncomfortable around all that meat. I tried some steak(well done for me!) which was tasty and tender, but only got a couple bites of meat off it because they’d left the fat on. i also tried a rolled chicken and bacon thingy that was yummy. they had chimichurri and hot peppers on the table and automatically brought our party of 20 all the sides and wine we could consume. Thumbs up for the cauliflower salad and several other fresh or pickled dishes at the salad bar. they definitely should dim the lights for more ambiance and add more screens or something since it’s so wide open. Be prepared to feel ill if you’re like me though, because you WILL consider it your duty to get your $ 25 worth :}

My husband took me here(hallandale location) for first date! He’s argentinian. We love to go here for the meat, cooked to perfection. I love the provoleta(melted provolone) and you have to try the Peras al Borgona they are mouthwatering, so delicious. I’ve also had the flan, sorbete de limon, helados, they were all good, but my favorite are the peras I prefer the hallandale location as well as the sawgrass to this location, they seem to be a bit more cozy. the place is always packed, lots of fun!!!

You ever heard someone say, «Yeah, I like animals, I like’em with sauce»? If you share those sentiments, you’ll love the Knife. This meat-palace is great for carnivores. As a herbivore, I occasionally have a craving for beef and when I do, I make a beeline for this place. All-you-can-eat, mmm mmm… it’s a great way to try Argentinian food, sample various cuts of grass-fed beef, sauces, etc.

There is but one word you need to know when going to The Knife… MEEEEEEEAT! Located off of Grand Ave. in Coconut Grove, this restaurant satisfies that primal urge that screams«MEAT, I MUSTEATMEAT!» Vegetarians will be utterly disheartened by the volume of dead animal consumed with reckless abandon in this Argentinian bastion of the carnivore. Unlike many Miami restaurants, the Knife needs no reservation(unless you have a large party) as the restaurant takes up most of the second floor of a Grand Ave shopping complex, so just show up. And show up hungry, as the restaurant is one buffet style. A single price charged, and then it’s all you can eat. depending on the day of the week you go, the price varies, but a safe bet is $ 25 per person. The price includes everything in the restaurant, which includes a well stocked salad bar, and a grill the size of a two bedroom apartment which cooks every type of beef, chicken, or pork known to western civilization. The smell of sizzling sausages, tender prime rib, and steaks cooked to order would satisfy any hunter/gatherer. But what makes The Knife is a 5-star pick is what is included in the price. Aside from the unlimited meat and salad bar, the price includes either a bottle of wine(per person!) or two beers, unlimited sides(Such as steamed vegetables, potatoes, fries, or rice) and your choice of a variety of desserts. Have the misfortune of being the designated driver? No biggie, as the restaurant makes a mean espresso. and you won’t have to shepard your thoroughly sloshed buddies far, as the restaurant provides complimentary 90-minute parking nearby. Personally, I’d skip all the healthy filler and fill up on sausage, fillet Mignon, and any other suggestions the guys at the grill have for you. While you can eat all you want, the portions they serve are small, so be prepared for multiple trips to the grill. Don’t forget to ask for the olive oil and melted provolone dipping sauce. sit yourself down with a bottle of red wine and indulge your bloodlust, as the Knife is the best meat-and-wine value in all of Miami
