Bad customer service. If you are not a steady customer, they ignore you. Just acknowledge your customers with a smile and say, we will be right with you. Doesn’t cost anything.

Marios meats is the best in town. Everything is always fresh! Their paninis are amazing if you want to grab lunch. My personal favorite is their skirt steak pin wheels! Ugh to die for. No exaggeration! My family moved out to Long Island and we still drove back to queens to pick up our meat! You will not be disappointed. Besides they deliver all way to Howard beach, very accommodating!

They’ve got a newer guy in there that doesn’t know how to cut chicken/veal cutlets and he’s kind of rude. Disappointing… used to be better.

This place is amazing!!! The homemade vegetable lasagna is my all time FAV! My son likes the meat dept. Fresh and soooo good. The sausages are by far the Best in NY! I like the pasta choices and prepared foods but buy cuts of fabulous meats for him. The rolls are great too. Get there early for great choices. They make big platters if you have football parties which is easy and really good!

Neighborhood deli with good service, fair prices, and quality meats. Wish they had a larger selection of beef to choose from though.

Finding a quality butcher is a hard thing so when you do write a great Unilocal for them. I went here after I decided to purchase my meats from a real butcher and not the generic supermarket cuts that i usually do. The fact that fresh ground chopped meat is comparable in price to the store bought stuff is more than enough reason to buy butcher meat. They also have rabbit, duck, quail, and lamb available aside from beef, chicken and pork. There are also some Italian specialty sauces frozen for take out, pastas and deli meats. Bread and sandwiches as well. They have a catering menu and take out menu. There is also a nice 99.99 dollar butcher package that is great. The service was awesome and top notch. I will be making this my go to butcher.

Come in here when you get your tax refund and spoil yourself. The place is covered with wall to wall delicacies from your cured meats to smoked cheeses. If you’re venturing out to be Bobby Flay that day, get a whole tenderloin and smoke that bad mama on the grill. If you ask them nicely, they will even tie it up for you(I asked). You can get entire wheels of sausage there from pork mix to chicken and beef only. With reasonable prices,(starting $ 6.99) how could you go wrong? It seems like they do it all. Go over to the cool cases on your left to gawk at the many cheeses that they have to offer. Try the Mozzarella or the Ricotta ’ Prima Salé ‘. That cheese is going to be your fruit and crackers’ new best friend. Your welcome in advance.

This place is the best butcher in Middle Village. They have tons of competition, so that is a high honor. The cuts of meat are fresh and the guys have pride in what they do. I always keep an eye on what and where the meat is coming from when they cut it for me. If you want the best chopped meat, ask for a piece of meat ground up on the spot. They have tons of Italian foods on sale as well as a full Boar’s Head Deli.

Best Butcher in the Neighborhood, with a good deli section. This is my go-to place when I need a special meat cut. I have bought Veal shanks, veal cutlets, a 5 bone rib roast, chuck steaks and other cuts from them, all high quality. They will butcher a cut to your order. Be prepared to wait on line though, as this place is often crowded. As for the deli, their Chicken Cutlet hero has thick cutlets, with very browned breadcrumbs. They melt their cheese so it is nice a liquidy and permeates the breading. lettuce is shredded iceberg. good bread.

Clearly the best. Every single piece of meat that I’ve purchased from Mario’s has been excellent. Great bunch of butchers behind the counter. One of the few places left that you definitely know you will get the best every time.

A cut above the rest… When you walk into Mario’s Meat Market you are transported back to the neighborhood butcher shop of days gone by, much like my experience entering many other of the Middle Village food procurer’s. The days gone by I am referring to are when service and personal relationships were just as important as providing the best meats and produce in town. Some of the wonderful meats available at Mario’s include, but certainly not limited to: veal, lamb, pork, chicken, fresh-made sausage and all items can be cut and pounded to order. Behind the glass cases that are filled with the above mentioned, you’ll find butchers wearing uniform black shirts and a few with the classical blood splattered white aprons. When your purchase is handed over the counter, your cuts will be wrapped in crisp white butcher paper and you are thanked with a smile. I frequently pick up some slabs of steaks or pork chops, which are perfect on the grill, and they always have a melt-in-your-mouth tenderness that you would more likely find in a steakhouse, as opposed to a retail shop. .The prices will be a bit higher, but in my opinion, the quality overshadows the slightly higher price, anytime.

Love love Mario’s Meat market! Everyone’s friendly and knows their stuff. They have an array of some of the freshest meat. They sell a great spinach ravioli at a great price — better than the supermarkets and healthier, amongst other pastas they sell. In addition to cheeses, wines and olive oils.

Mario’s is awesome for meats! They have a good selection of cuts to choose from and will ground anything for you. Sometimes it can get a bit pricey but you are paying for quality. They also have a deli selection, cheese section and some dry Italian goods. Friendly service.

Middle Village has its share of small Italian markets, and, although I have not frequented all(harder and not as needed as a vegetarian) many have good reputations. For the past year, I have fallen on Mario’s as my local Italian food shop, and they have never disappointed. With a butcher shop in front(yet to dive into), deli in back and delicious foods in the front case with salads, olives, pre-made dishes, mushrooms, etc. The pantry, breads, oils and others are around the wall. I try to go often as their mozzarella cheese is as good as it gets; their frozen pasta is right there the bread is fresh and my last trip I picked up prosciutto for guest and they said it was great. They even carry fresh pasta from Italy. I usually spend a little more than I intended but I eat well at those times.
