PLESE DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE, I didn’t stay here but I am very angry with this people and the way that they do business I made a reservation and when I canceled less than 48 hours later they charged me $ 25 cancelation fee, what really irritated me the most is I sent a few e-​mail to the company I made the reservation with, to help me to waive the fee even when the charges was post as a pending, and the hotel refuse to do it as a courtesy, when I went back to find where did I miss this policy took almost 15 minutes to found out it’s hidden very well, I think they should be clear about this charges, very poor way to do business if you asked me

Reviews for cabins vary based on expectations and standards, I imagine. My general standards for lodging are shaped by Hyatt Place, Hilton and Marriott’s basic rooms. Having never stayed in a cabin, my expectations were that at a minimum it offered the common comforts I get at hotels.
Bear Creek Cabins is not for folks who are used to hotels unless you can lower your amenity standards before arrival. There is no cell phone signals, wifi is unreliable, televisions are small, nothing about this place is fancy. But, in all fairness, the property doesn’t claim to have fancy accommodations.
We rented Cabin C for 3 nights while visiting for a business trip. On the very first night, we agreed that this place did not meet our needs. The common area/​living room would not get warm enough for us Florida girls in early November. This downside is probably more about impatience and low tolerance for cold temperatures. The single, small bathroom (with a warning note about the small water heater) was the next deal breaker. Especially the fact that it was located on the cold, first floor. Did I mention no internet/​cell phone signal/​wifi?
Overall, the property was clean, no complaints about that. We didn’t see bugs, cobwebs, dirty linen, none of that. Oh but the couches are due for replacement. They were rather dingy and worn down. We kept our clothes on, including sweaters and jackets, while seated on them. Layering to avoid the couches and try to stay warm.
The front desk rep was extremely nice. So nice that we were afraid of breaking his heart when telling him we decided to check out the morning after checking in. The cancellation policy was the saving grace of the 2-​star review. One for cleanliness and one for no fees when you check out early. We were only charged for the one night.
If you’re renting this place to live out a cabin fantasy, I personally don’t recommend it. You’ll end up with a tainted view because I’m sure there are better options elsewhere. Maybe not in the vicinity, but in the country. It’s nothing like TV… well, it does reminds you of Little House on the Prairie (this was a comment by a friend when I shared pics).
If you want to enjoy a beautiful, peaceful scenery with low standards for what your room looks like and a desire to disconnect from technology, make your Bear Creek Reservation NOW.

Mouse droppings, spider cob webs all over the room. Hair on sheets. Old trashy workout equipment propped in front of rooms. Nasty, I would rather go tent camping than stay here again! The owners need to get a grip and care more about the great potential it has.

WARNING !!! Do NOT stay at Bear Creek Cabins! Worst experience of my life& we travel ALOT! We rented this cabin because it was a last minute decision to go to Yosemite National Park. We drove 6 hours to pull into a nightmare. It was nothing like the photos showed online, It looked like a abandon junk yard. We enter our cabin which we were told we would be greeted& we never were.
The people who are giving good reviews on here are Lou Ann’s family & friends or she is paying for a good review because this place is a junk yard& needs to be condemned !!
The dust was so thick every where it looked abandoned& the counter tops and kitchen table were so nasty my hand stuck to the tables and counter tops. The faucet in the bath tub had about 2 inches of black mold all around it and so did the inside of the shower curtains!
I had to drive 7 miles to Mariposa to get a cell phone signal to call management that never checked on us. We wanted to leave but it was booked every where & we could not find one opening anywhere so we were stuck.
I purchased Lysol, bleach, disinfectant, etc. and spent the 1^st 2 hours of my vacation scrubbing & bleaching and disinfecting to make it live able for my family. Upon our return, not only was it filthy and windows buried in Cobb webs bees starting buzzing around us because the screens on the windows had slices & holes in it so I closed them immediately .
We were so upset & could not believe we really had no where to go and were forced to make the best of it. Once I sanitized this cabin, It seemed ok until we shut off the lights & were attacked by spiders and they were HUGE BROWN RECLUSE !
The next morning we decided to make the best of our day & left early to Yosemite National Park, It was the best part of our trip !
We came back for our last night at Bear Creek Cabins& I had a message from Lou Ann that she personally watched the cleaning people clean, she does not know what I’m talking about because she personally made sure the cabin was clean which was a out right lie and then she told me to my face she never said that but she did in a voicemail & email so I have proof she lied!
We make the best of our last night my 10 yr. old daughter flushed the toilet & it starts over flowing. I run in shut the water off on the toilet so it would not flood& then I stormed to The managers office. I get about 20 ft. From the front door & it’s just the strongest smell of cat urine I have ever smelled in my life& her door & windows just buried in Cobb webs and smelled like a litter box that had not been cleaned in years. There were books outside where she sits and reads in the middle of this hoarders paradise.
Next thing I see is a truck roaring past me spitting rocks& dirt all over me, It finally stops& I said are you Lou Ann ?!? She said yes I got your message, I said which one?!? I called twice the 1^st day& e-​mailed and no one came to my door. The 2^nd day I called 3x’s& sent a email while having breakfast at a restaurant & no response so you were watching me walk around looking for you & finally came out.
Lou Ann walks into my cabin nasty, barefoot & with no gloves starts trying to unplug our toilet & pulls a nasty old plunger out of the toilet dripping with feces all over the floor with NO GLOVES& NO SHOES ! The most unsanitary disgusting thing I have ever seen at a rental.
We are going to bathe in here later, Can you get that off of the floor?!? So she takes a wash cloth & with no disinfectant and no cleaner wiped it super quick with a wash cloth.
Once the toilet was unplugged, We informed her of everything and that I had to bleach and disinfect for 2 hours to make it live able &I want my money back. She refused until I informed her my husband is a gov. employee & we are not trying to get anything for free but this was disgusting she finally comprimised and refunded one night while watching me bleach the bath tub, the toilet she just threw feces all over & bleached the floor on my hands and knees and Lou Ann did not try to help me or call anyone else to help clean or accomodate us after the toilets over flowed. Thankfully we travel our own pillows because those smelled so bad & were so lumpy it was like a pillow case filled with tennis balls. I showed Lou Ann the hideous pillows& she could care less. She knows she rips people off repeatedly just like us from out town & only wants to collect the money .
This place is NOT up to code, If code enforcement came in and saw the hole in the ceiling covered by a wood crate with NO FILTER for a air conditioner, the rusted shelves in the refrigerator, black mold around faucet in bath tub & shower, nasty headboards on the beds, broken kitchen table & chairs that were so sticky I had to scrub it with degreaser twice for my children & yes I have photos for proof!
Please stay FAR, FAR AWAY FROM BEAR CREEK CABINS IN MIDPINES, CA !! It needs to be condemned !!!

Our cabin was nothing less than awesome! We had such a great time there and the room was super spacious and clean couldn’t ask for anything better! Luanne and the dog bear are awesome!

I don’t know what that woman in that previous review was yammering about — if you aren’t fit to watch your own children you really shouldn’t be taking them places. Loved Bear Creek Cabins. Went there for a weekend for the Mariposa Butterfly festival. Comfortable bed, stocked kitchen, quiet at night. Best thing was waking up to a yard full of green grass and fluttering butterflies. I will definitely be back. There were only two of us but there is an upstairs and you could put a whole group in these cabins. They pretty much have everything you need, too.
No wi-​fi was the only drawback for me but then again with wi-​fi I never would have left the place.

UNSAFE FOR CHILDREN! Please, if you have a baby or small child, don’t stay here! I had my 1 year old in a play yard set up beside the wall, thinking he was safe. I saw him about to put some pink fluff in his mouth and took it off him and realized that it was fiberglass insulation! The walls have huge gaps in between the logs out of which pink bats bulge out! I took photos so hopefully I can post them here. If he had ingested any it would’ve cut up his insides!!! The woman who owns the place leaves the key in your room, you don’t check in. I thought that would be fine as she said she would drop by the room later. She never did! Later that night my son hit his head on a chair leg in the room and needed to go to the emergency room. Because there is no cell reception there we needed to find out where the hospital was. My Mom ran to the office (which is this lady’s house), and banged on the door. She didn’t answer. Fortunately Mom found a neighbor who gave us directions. The next day we drove past a woman wandering around the driveway in her dressing gown. The following day we were checking out the same woman showed up at our room in her dressing gown again at 11am and we found out it was the owner. She said she hadn’t heard Mom knocking on her door because she had the heater on… There was a coffee maker but no coffee or tea or anything provided. A knife and fork but not enough for the 3 people we had specified and paid for. Also the place was filthy. Dust coating the tops of the logs that made the walls. Holes in the bedding. Just awful. On the day we left her stinky dog came and was in the rooms with her as she cleaned the one next door. All together a very creepy and crappy experience.
