It’s was ok service was good food tasted great. However cash only and way over priced for the amount of lobster you get and what it comes with. One lobster roll $ 15 on a small hot dog bun with a side of Cole slaw. Update Thanks for the response Scott, I guess? I was at the right place unless there is any other place in Milford right next to walnut beach called the lazy lobster serving lobster rolls because that’s where I was. I got ice cream at Walnut beach creamery on the same block afterwards. My mistake on the bun it looked like a hot dog bun based on it size but perhaps it was baguette. I also thought it was $ 15 because I order that and the crab cakes(for my other guest) and it came to$ 25. But I guess that was 16.95 for the lobster roll and the crab cakes were $ 8.05. Also no way that was a pound of lobster meat, maybe 1pound pre cooked However it was all very delicious that is why I gave it two stars. Good food and the service was good. But I still stand by it being over priced. This was my first time to your establishment and I had lobster rolls fresh shucked before at other restaurants up and down the coast. I have paid $ 15-$ 20 and I am happy too do so as I understand the premium for this meal. But I have always gotten a good amount for my money. I just believe after what I spent for lunch to walk away still hungry from a lobster roll with a cole slaw isn’t a good value. So if you aren’t too hungry or don’t mind spending $ 30 to have a filling lunch this place is the place for you because it’s lobster is on point and delicious. If you want a little more value for your dollar try some where else.

Excellent! Small hole-in-the-wall place serving exceptional lobster rolls! One of the best cole slaws I’ve had! Simple but clean flavors! Absolutely yummy! And the rack of ribs is crazy big(even the half order) and toootally worth trying!

Eat what they’re good at — lobster! The cajun po’ boy — lots of lobster, cajun spice, rumalade and Cole slaw on a big delicious hard roll bun. It was delicious. The crab cakes had lots of crab — they avoid the usual crab cake problem — too much bread crumbs. The one bad thing was the clam chowder -.few clams and way too thick — like a milk flour gravy. V

Took an hour for supposedly a 1 lb lobster roll, not sure why it takes an hour to steam a lobster with no other customers. When it came out it certainly wasn’t 1 lb Lazy is right… The«tip males vs females» is also super rude and insulting, the guy also told me he «owed me $ 3» which he never brought out to me, so I had to go back in and ask for it at the end of the meal. Just rude. Should have read the reviews before coming here, the one about the cook not washing his hands… Read that.

The person who took our order was unfriendly. The lobster roll was ok but the rib sandwich was horrible. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. It is also pricey.

I’ve had lobster quite a few times, but even a five star lobster hot in Hartford can’t compare to this place. It’s located right on the beach not far from where I live so it’s really really convenient. All of the lobster is freshly prepared and slept right between a hot buttery roll. The clam chowder is the best i have ever tasted, and it is just a hop, skip, and a jump over to the beach to enjoy a nice sunset lounge. I love lobster, and this beats any luxury restaurant serving lobster anywhere.

Terrible. Tried to stop in because we had heard it was a good lobster roll, we had never been to Milford. First of all, why in my head did I even think Milford was a cute town? It is not. In fact, it is run very down and filthy– as is the Lazy Lobster. We stepped into the Lazy Lobster and saw a man behind the counter but no customers scowling over a cash register. He never looked up to acknowledge we were there. I was with my family and we were looking at the menu over the counter and I said to them, «What do you guys thinking»? Then the guy, who I guess was the owner or manager bellowed… «Well they aren’t gonna get nothin’ until I find the money!!» In a really weird aggressive and psychotic way. I replied, «I’m sorry, are you not open?»(which they were). His reply was to ignore me. It was beyond awkward and very hostile. The poor employee sweeping the floor tried to be helpful and said come back in «a little while». No thanks, dudes. I will never ever set foot in your restaurant(take out counter) or this town again.

I decided to try the Lazy Lobster based on the amazing pictures and the rave reviews. It hasn’t lived up to either. I went on a Sunday, there wasn’t much of a crowd, maybe 10 people on the patio max. The kitchen had 4 people working in it. Not terribly clean or organized. I ordered the restaurant staple, a lobster roll which was priced a bit higher than most area restaurants($ 16.95) and a lobster bisque($ 5.95). Both of which were sub par. The bisque had a vague taste of lobster and absolutely no chunks of lobster in it. Very runny as well. As far as the lobster roll, it was served on a piece of Italian bread, toasted with butter and had a minimal amount of lobster on it. Lobster was in big, hard to chew chunks and not evenly put on the roll. There was a definite lack of care in its making and it shows by the previous pictures posted. All in all, I will probably not be back. The lobster rolls from the Captains catch and the Lobster hut were much better and better priced as well.

The crab cakes were $ 10.95 for 2. They were Hand made and size of hockey puck. They were sauteed till lightly crispy. They had good spice. I prefer a lump crab cake with scant breading. It was good though. My husband liked it. The lobster was tender and yummy. This place has a huge turn over and a block from Walnut Beach entrance. Some people got it to go to each on the beach… good idea! They serve Pepsi products for drinks. Very simple 3 man show no frills. Just like a lobster shack should be. Lobster roll $ 16.95. Lobster is market value $ 19.95. Seating inside and out. Bathrooms available.

What everyone says is true — great Lobster rolls and very tender ribs. Finally, a place that serves a lobster roll on a real kaiser type bun!(Not the usual hotdog bun) makes a huge difference! Very generous with the butter. The ribs are really good, but you have to add the sauce to get the great flavor. The cole slaw was surprisingly good as well — next time need to order a few extra on the side. Close enough to Walnut Beach that you can stroll over while at the beach or before you go home.

The best Lobster Roll in Fairfield County. Exceptionally tender lobster claws and tail, not little bits, in fresh baked bread at a fair price. It has outdoor seating(4 tables) with and folks walking by in bathing suits. It is the perfect summer dining experience.

This place is just OK. Not sure what all the hype is about. We came in around 8 pm and they were out of Ribs. So we got the lobster rolls. The meat was chewy I think it was overlooked. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t impressed. THe Lobster Hut on Bridgeport ave is way better and portion is much larger. The stars is for the people that work there. They were nice

Can’t believe this place has anything over a single star. If I could I wouldn’t even give it a star but I had to at lease select one. Not even a half. Laziness. Then again it is called the Lazy Lobster. We were ordering«to-go» when we watched the cook leave and go out for a smoke thru the front door and around the corner. When he came back he didn’t even wash his hands. He just grabbed the rag and wiped down the counter. Sadly the young guy, high school aged doesn’t know any better, very polite and assisting. But didn’t take the glove off to take my cash and then turned around and used the same glove to pour melted butter in a container and out the steamed clams on a tray to bring them out to other patrons. We decided once a table freed up outside to eat in. We unwrapped our family Lazy Lobster Rolls. Mine had black pieces and both of ours were barely filled. When I went to pick the black prices out we made a joint decision to send mine back. Upon waiting for a new one. To see that all they do is pull a baguette roll and pour butter in the top then cut it open and squish lobster into the center I walked out to grab my friends and request for our money back. $ 17.95 each. There is nothing worth that at this place. Lazy Lobster is a perfect name for it. Absolutely hideous.

Fantastic experience, lobster roll on point. Lobster bisque and clam chowder top shelf. I’m from Maine, I know good seafood. Very accommodating staff, very pleasant, great to sit ON the beach and eat lobster.

Great spot on Walnut Beach for a lobster roll. They really are that good. The roll is not your average hot dog bun. It’s of high quality and perfect when warm and buttery and loaded with perfectly cooked lobster. Delicious. It comes with a side of slaw that is very crisp and light. Good job! I wanted another but the Walnut Beach Creamery was calling my name!

Great ribs and wildly fresh lobster are on the menu at this casual little spot near the Milford beaches. While the soups might be a little lacking and the interior a bit worn out, none of that takes away from the fact that this is really one of the best places to score some eats in the entire area. This spot actually has a nice little front deck outside where you can relax in the sun and eat your food. It is also located across the street from the much beloved Walnut Beach Creamery, so you know you can rock a solid dessert when you are done with the food. When you order a lobster here that baby is alive and kicking in the big fridges you will see off to the right when you walk in. They are extremely sweet tasting and served with a bucket containing a shell cracker, a long METAL lobster fork(I hate when places just give you a wood one because they don’t trust you), a knife and fork, and wet naps. The lobster itself is served with clarified butter and and lemon. I am more of a lobster man to be honest but the ribs here are awesome as well. They are impressively smoky and hearty for ribs coming out of a lobster shack in CT and you get a good portion for the price. So yeah, I am not in love with the bisque here(not much lobster meat) and I guess they could touch up the interior a bit but whatever, I love this place and I think that all adds to the charm. This place is great and definitely the place to go if you are on Walnut beach and looking for someplace great to eat within walking distance.

Dirty isn’t the best word to describe the inside of the Lazy Lobster. Tired is a better word. If you can overlook the inside appearance then you’ll find some very good lobster served by a very courteous owner. Its location is sort of in a odd part of town. In most any other town, a strip of stores near the shoreline would be somewhat upscale and booming with trendy boutique shops. Not here. There’s many vacant shops nearby and one liquor store is located across the street. The characters walking around the streets look just as sketchy as the buildings. When I was there, some drunk bum was yelling profanity to another bum on the other side of the street. The service is far from fancy. You simply order at the counter and then eat either inside or outside on plastic tables and chairs. The lobster roll is unusual because it’s served on a French baguette, instead of a typical hot dog roll. The bread isn’t bad, it’s just different. Like some others have said, at first I felt the lobster meat was lacking. But after eating it, I found it to have just the right amount of meat(approx ¼ lbs which is the going average for an average lobster roll). Oh my goodness, the pieces of lobster meat were some of the biggest pieces I have ever laid my eyes upon. $ 15.95 for a lobster roll. The coleslaw was some of the most unusual coleslaw I’ve ever had. It had a brownish caramel color and taste to it. It wasn’t bad, it was just different. Be aware that the only items on the menu are lobster rolls, crab cakes, ribs, and chowder/bisque. If you want something else, forget about it. I grabbed some lobster bisque to-go and it wasn’t worth it because it contained very little lobster meat. $ 5+ change for a pint.
