I hate it when service crews at fast foods doesn’t care what you order and are in a hurry to punch in orders that they won’t even talk to you that’s annoying as hell and you can find that here at chowking landess. WORST! I MEANTHEWORSTSERVICEYOU’LLEVERENCOUNTER. They even stuff your 5 plate orders in ONE small bag. F***ing idiots!

Service was fast and the staff was friendly and professional. Food is great. Fried chicken was salty. Lugaw was good! Taho is far the best I’ve ever tasted compare to goldilocks!

Negative, negative, negative! Was craving for some good dasilog but they didn’t even have bangus! The tocino was hard and the sinangag was super generic! Was lacking garlic and the rice was yellow colored. The corporate HQ in the PI would be ashamed of this lack of authenticity!

This is one of those places one would go to once in a while when you’re craving for some filipino food. Not that the food is bad, but the location makes it hard for someone to go there. The one in Landess Avenue by the Seafood City plaza is the one I am talking about. The fact that Chow King is by Seafood City, Goldilocks, Valerio’s, Chef P’s, and etc. makes the business last in terms of eating Filipino food. One thing to note though, the halo halo is the best there, better than The Grill City and Goldilocks!

I was not a victim of the«long wait» since my orders were pretty simple, two black jelly drinks(formerly known as black gulaman, also known as sago’t gulaman) and two [chunky] asado siopao to go, however, the girl in the back whose job it was to make halo-halos had no breaks! People were ordering 4 at a time! We do have a Chow King inside Seafood City in South Sac/Elk Grove, and yes, they are not up to par with the Chow King restaurants in the Philippines of course. The Bola-Bola siopao is good too, and sometimes I go for the breakfast, specifically bangsilog. The halo-halo is also something I don’t order often, more like a special treat. This trip the gulaman was pretty sweet for my taste, but the siopao really hit the spot, especially with their asado sauce.

I was in San Jose for an event and wanted some halo halo. We don’t have Chow King in San Francisco so thought we’d try it. I love the Chow Kings in the Philippines! Unfortunately this was not the same. As with most Filipino chains here in the US they are disappointing. The halo halo was just meh. I also ordered the taho and it tasted old yuck. Also had asado and bola bola siopao which were OK. Like I said, nothing compared to the ones in the Philippines. Well Unilocal has their rating right on this one, sorry.

I only come here for Thor breakfast and I have to say for a fast food Filipino place it’s really good! I usually order their Tocino Bangus but since I gave up red meat for lent they also offer lent options which makes it even better for me during breakfast time!

Arezcaldo tasted equivalent to tasteless watered down rice cooker diarrhea. Workers are impossibly slow and annoying. Their pancit tasted like instant pan-shit, there were no meat, veggies, nothing!

The food was okay then again what do you expect from a fast food Asian place. Ordered garlic chicken instead got salty chicken. The service was not great… had a 30 minute wait for food… and an additional wait for drinks(which were all sodas… that come out of a dispenser).

This 1 star is solely based on their Beef Wonton Soup, I can’t speak about any of their other menu items.

I ordered the«Beef and Wonton Noodle soup» to-go. I came home and saw that it came with 2 tiny pieces of beef, and two tiny wontons. I went to eat a wonton, and it was a mouthful of RAW dough. Nasty! The other piece of «wonton» was raw as well. See picture. What a waste of money and risk of health.

Have to review this place for what it is. A fast food, Filipino food place. It’s a nice change of pace from other fast food places. The fried chicken is really crispy. I’ve had better, but I’ve also had much much worse. This is pretty decent. The pork when I was there was a bit too much fat, and not enough meat. The garlic rice is pretty good, but that’s hard to mess up. The food isn’t super fast, but it’s it all sitting under heat lamps either. 2 star place, 1 extra star for the convenience of Filipino food semi quickly. And that I can come here for a halo halo or other sweet tooth craving.

No no no no. Worst money I’ve spent on food in a long time. Employees I encountered were rude and didn’t even want to answer my questions about what’s in the different types of meals they offer(I’m not Filipino food expert!) I order the pansit and the lumpia and both just tasted like salt. It’s right across the street from my work but eff this place!

They’re cheap as hell. These cheap bastards don’t even have salt and pepper for customers. They also don’t give extra napkins. 2 napkins maximum per customer. No extra plates no extra utensils to give to customers

I come here for The halo halo. Not cause it’s good but cause it’s convenient. The drink itself isn’t bad but it’s not as fresh as jollibee. So if you are like me and don’t want to deal with the crowd at the great mall for halo halo at jollibee then chow king is a quicker stop for your halo halo fix.

I come here for one thing and one thing only. The Fried Chicken. The fried chicken is a guilty pleasure of mine, you can really just taste the comfort in the food; knowing full well how much fat is probably in that piece of fried food you’re biting into. But it really is worth it, if you’re not watching your figure that is. But really though the service here is what you expect from a fast casual restaurant and even though its a very fast transaction, there isn’t any additional service that makes them standout beyond the norm. Definitely a spot for Filipino comfort food; but its not something I would recommend eating every day.

Where to begin? First of all, the restaurant itself is misleading. This should be called«King Fried Foods». The menu is of a picture which is cool but I still had to ask what is included their Lauriat Meal deal. The staff somewhat shows some distance to certain ethnics or to some filipinos who don’t speak the language. Unprofessional in my opinion and felt like I was shunned by them just because I asked way too many questions about the menu. The back seating area where the drinks are at was all wet at the time I was there. There was 2 staff there just kicking it at a table. One was holding the mop while sitting down and the other one was sipping on Pepsi at the drink machine. The food was sort of ok. But really I think there is better fast food restaurants that is worth the money. There isn’t much to write about it as in my opinion THEREWASNO «WOW, BAM, AHHHHYEAH» feeling about the food. It was more«Sigh, Ho Hum, I guess I’ll have that type of feeling. You know when you are at your house and you are constantly searching for a food taste to satisfy your taste buds that will make you totally happy. I don’t get this place and it popularity among Filipinos’ and other ethnic that find this place so inviting. Is it because it’s «CHOWKING» and we must got there? They need to make the menu more appealing. Will I be back? Umm… = *Eek! Methinks not.

Gotta love chain Filipino restaurants. The Chow King in the Seasons Marketplace(aka the Seafood City on the border of Milpitas and San Jose) is pretty awesome I’d say. The staff is really friendly and the food is always awesome. Make sure you ask for their arroz caldo! Its not on the menu, but they always have it. Its the perfect thing to eat when you don’t feel well or if its super cold.

Looking at the menu, I thought that the desserts/drinks at Chow King were going to be AMAZING. After all, they sure sounded like it. I was totally wrong… Taho: — Sweet tofu with tapioca pearls… Did it come with pearls like it was advertised? Nope, they said they didn’t have any. — Flavor was totally off… It was flavorless, yet way too sweet at the same time. — Tastes nothing like the sweet tofu you get at dim sum restaurants. Coconut Pandan Shake: — I LOVE pandan flavored things, ESPECIALLY in my Che, but this was also way too sweet. It tasted artificial. After I took a few sips, I was completely done with it. — Lesson learned. Stick to Vietnamese desserts if you want something GOOD!
