Best vietnamese sandwiches in the bay area! I’ve tried a few spots for vietnamese sandwiches but this one is the best! Great selection of different types of sandwiches(beef, chicken, pork, cured meats). Best of all is the vietnamese style coffee. It’s expresso w/condensed milk over ice. Delicious! Would recommend it to anyone looking for a small meal and coffee!

Was in the neighborhood and wanted to pick up some bahn mi’s for later. Ordered a grill pork sandwich and a vegetarian. Also got a Thai Tea boba and three egg rolls. The egg rolls were not fresh and was only luke warm. It was obvious its been sitting out for a while. The thai tea was meh. The boba was over cooked and too soft. The sandwich was their saving grace. There was ample meat and it was pretty good.

4stars based on sandwhices only. All other food here are ok. Sandwiches always hit the spot for us. We come her atleast once a week for either lunch or dinner. Yess dinner. #1 plus eggs! Yummy! Of course, nothing compares to the one in San Jose.

This place is the biggest hole in the wall joint I’ve ever been to. Literally, the stuff they sell reminds of me Vietnamese street vendors except its just all tucked into this little restaurant in a nondescript strip mall. But, the flavors here are bold and the value is amazing! You’ll see other reviews saying how Cam Huong is the best banh mi joint in South Bay. I’d have to disagree. You’ll get two times the meat here and fresher bread here too. It might be a few cents more here, but the quality is unbeatable. Always delicious, always fresh, always cheap. PROTIP: Cash only.

I think this place deserves more than 3.5 stars. Super cheap and filling sandwiches. I was shocked; one was more than enough for me costing only $ 3.25 for a bbq pork sandwich. I also tried one of their cold drinks, #306, taro with pearls, and it wasn’t that great; but I’m glad they have a selection of drinks to enjoy with the sandwiches. My sandwich had a good balance of crunch and softness. Some of the jalapeños were a bit big, but overall pretty happy with what I ordered. There was plenty of parking here, and this place is much deserving of a better rating.

I come here to buy the ‘steam pork cake’ by the dozen to take back home to Hong Kong for my mother in law because she looooves them! I love their very affordable sandwiches too. A great place to pickup some bust sandwiches on my way home. Highly recommend if you’re on a budget too, so delicious and so affordable. Bring cash.

This is my go to spot for bahn mi in Milpitas. I usually get #7(grilled pork) or #5(bbq pork). The bread always taste fresh and has that nice crunch on the outside and soft inside. All sandwiches are a little over $ 3. Sounds like a good deal for a filling sandwich. The best part is that they’re finally accept credit cards now so I don’t have to worry if I’m even carrying enough cash!

Delicious, but by the afternoon they have very few items, almost like they’re going to close any minute. Not a very friendly vibe for a place that caters to lunch guests.

Generous portion of chicken glass noodles soup and love their sandwich! Usually I order number 1. Tried their BBQ pork once but it was too salty. Love the fresh taro pearl milk drink. The pearl is chewy with little sweetness. Need to ask for less ice next time.

Was craving some banh mi after church. Wanted a snack prior to studying. Got a grilled pork sandwich and the banh cuon. Both was a let down. Grilled pork has NO flavor and they surely packed on the vietnamese butter. Best thing about this was the bread. Banh Cuon, the batter for the item wasn’t glutinous at all. Literally felt soggy in my mouth. Sad part about this is the steamed meat used wasn’t even good. No flavor, no texture. Definitely would go somewhere else if I had a craving for this type of food.

Where else you gonna find $ 3.50 spring rolls in dup and a bomb banh mi sandie for $ 3.25. It has grab and go, a buffet of goodness and little vietnamese treats. Anything cheap and good is automatic 5 stars.

I’m seriously loving this banh mi spot — I don’t understand how it’s only 3.5 stars! I have only tried the Vietnamese sandwiches here, but it appears their food court style meals are rather popular as well. I keep it simple and always go for the #1, and at $ 3.25, it’s a good deal. The bread is crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside, so the days of scratching your mouth are over. I especially love the pâté they use in their sandwiches, but everything about their sandwiches is a whole bunch of deliciousness. The workers there are also incredibly friendly and the guy at the counter has a personality that just makes you smile.

Huong Lan is the place to go for Vietnamese Sandwiches in Milpitas. Their sandwiches is cheap, fast, freshly prepared and very tasty. The bread is crisp on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. The pork roll comes in generous amounts, and is my favorite. I always ordered #2 combo pork roll and pâté topped with pickled carrots, radish, cilantro, and jalapeño on a French baguette. Simply delicious! Huong Lan also has great Vietnamese iced coffee and snacks. Overall, very nice Vietnamese sandwiches, a convenient place for breakfast and also good for take away lunches or dine in. Any time I pass one I definitely stop by.

The sandwiches here are okay. We ordered two sandwiches and mine didn’t come with pâté :(I guess you have to request it to have it in your sandwich. If I knew that I would’ve asked for it… I didn’t like the veggies in it either. The shredded carrot pieces were too hard and the other veggies(can’t think of the name now) were too sour. The bread also wasn’t that fresh. We got one of the spring roll packages and I thought that was pretty good and I liked the peanut sauce. They also have other various food trays that would be useful if you need something quick. Overall, this place is just okay. One plus is that they take credit card.

Tasty shredded chicken sandwiches, though I prefer Thanh Huong’s banh mi(also they have Grilled Chicken option). The first time I came here after reading all the Unilocal reviews, I tried the Fish Cake on a whim but found it really underwhelming. Decided to not review until I had tried a pork or chicken item, which is good because otherwise they’d rate around 2.5−3 stars instead of 3.5−4 stars :) I have also tried the pork patechaud here which is fairly good, but similar to that at Phat Tri I think it has too much dough and not enough filling — surprisingly, the best one I’ve eaten(out of a total 3 places hehe) is Lee’s sandwiches!

Yummy sandwiches for a good price. If you prefer the fatter pieces of french bread than the long skinny french breads come here. I usually get the vegetarian or the BBQ pork/beef.

Im not sure why this place has such a low rating. The sammiches here are bomb. The bread makes 80% of banh mi and the french bread here is crusty and soft, not hard and scratchy. Yes, they take out some of the bread from the loaves and toast it so the bread is crunchier(but still soft!) Love it. If that’s the kind of bread you like then you’ll love this place. Caphe sua da is hella strong which some folks will love. Yes, ice coffee is pre-mixed like it is in all the take-outs Ive seen. Not sure where the legendary slow drip coffee is, coffee shops with the scantily clad waitresses? Lines can get confusing and cashiers generally know only minimal English. I think I was overcharged once and the cashier never gave me an itemized receipt. Yes, the reviewer who saw a worker go in and out of the bathroom wearing a(most likely same) pair of gloves is not lying, I saw this on my last visit here. You can start crying now if you like. Seriously though, if you’re getting takeout for less than $ 5 are you really that surprised about ratchet cashiers, cockroaches, mold, bad smells, and used gloves? I will say there is 1 female cashier here who is very nice and extremely patient. A pair of extremely slow and fussy Filipino nurses took forever with their order. They wanted to customize their sandwiches in ways I have never seen any banh mi customer order a sammich. And they kept changing their minds AFTER the order was put in so the cashier had to keep running back to tell the kitchen staff. Between the nurses’ broken English and the cashiers’ lack of fluency it took A Very Long Time to finish the order but the cashier never had an attitude and kept a smile on her face.

This is a pretty good banh mi spot. I work in the area and this is always a good option for lunch. The sandwiches are pretty cheap with a bunch of sides to choose from. The banh mi is a good size and taste good. Definitely worth a try if you are feeling for a Vietnamese sandwich. Overall: will return for lunch.

My parents have been going here since I was a little kid and now that I am adult I still love going here! This is my favorite place in the Milpitas/San Jose to buy my viet sandwiches ^_^ so yummy!!! Sandwiches are only $ 3.25 each. There are also other fast food and pre packaged food that is also great for people on the go, trying to grab a quick lunch. The bread on the sandwich is so much better than a sandwich from Lee’s which is super skinny and hard.

This is my new go-to place for eating banh mi !! I always get the grilled pork one. Price is good and it’s delicious! I also like the coffee here with the condensed milk. So strong and sweet at the same time! One of the weird things here is that they leave a lot of to-go food on the counter, even when it’s a hot day outside and the AC isn’t that high. There are like meats and shrimps and stuff in the to-go boxes which I find weird b/c I feel like they would spoil. But I bought a sticky rice dessert thing from this section and it was pretty good. I’m interested in trying the drinks in the fridge too! Looks interesting.

Yum! I love Vietnamese sandwiches and this is the place to go. There aren’t a lot of very good ones in the area. You may need to drive a little further for more in San Jose. I usually come here whenever I am craving a Vietnamese sandwich and I am in the area. I don’t exactly go out of my way for this. But when I do, I’m so so satisfied after finishing one! For $ 3.25, you can get a pretty decent sized sandwich. There are lots of selections you can choose from. I usually get the pork one. It’s so simple but so delicious! I love the buns/bread to their sandwiches because they’re so crunchy! It’s not the kind where it’s hard and hard to bite either! It’s perfect! Overall, I do recommend coming here for your Vietnamese sandwich fix whenever you’re in the area! It’s a lovely place for cheap sandwiches and other food they offer.

I really love this sandwich shop! They’re sort of tucked away in a little plaza. Inside they have vietnamese sandwiches for $ 3.25, cheaper than their other location on Cap expwy. There is fresh penny worth and soy milk drinks in the fridge, spring rolls made every hour, and $ 2 milk teas/teas with free toppings!!! I love how affordable it is here! I always come for the #9(shredded chicken sandwich and add cha lua(steamed pork) extra .69 cents).

Great sandwiches. My usual is the Thit Nuong for $ 3.50. I also like their Xa Xiu sandwich and goi cuon rolls. Also unlike most local Asian places they take card! So you don’t have to bring cash to pay!!! I wish more places were like this as I don’t usually carry cash. My favorite local vietnamese banh mi place is still Thanh Huong, but I live closer to Huong Lan so I’ll continue coming here. Pro tip: Order the veggies on the side if you aren’t going to eat the sandwich right away. That way you can toast the sandwich and then put the veggies in without the whole thing being soggy.

They have more choices of topping for bubble tea than other tea places. They have basil seeds for instance. They also give you two toppings included in the price. It’s $ 2 for regular teas and $ 3 for smoothies, which is much cheaper than anywhere else in the Bay Area. The size of their drinks is comparable to the large if other places. Their noodle soups are quite large. They don’t skimp on the ingredients like meat, tendon, and blood. The ingredients are much fresher than, say, the noodle shops at Grand Century Mall. The Bahn Mi sandwiches are cheap — under $ 3. Lee’s sandwiches already increased their prices to $ 4, so that’s why I come here instead. Here, their bread is fluffy and skin is more flaky than Lee’s.

Milpitas’s finest vietnamese sandwiches, all for under $ 4!($ 3.25, but with tax… $ 3.53, precisely.) Nothing beats the fresh herbs and onions, crunchy vegetables, and nice warm meat between your toasty buns… I mean bread =] This place also sells a variety of vietnamese food, and they have prepackaged spring rolls, as well as other vietnamese food goodies, for you busy foodies on the go. Haven’t tried any of their drinks here yet but I just might next time I stop by. The workers are very kind and are speedy at making your sandwich, which is made to order. Bonus: This place looks cleaner than most other vietnamese sandwiches in the 408… *cough*Lee’s Sandwiches*cough*
